  1. Nope, I didn’t have to do any special diet before surgery (thank goodness). My doctor literally said just don’t “overindulgence” the night before. I felt the same way - like I was doing something wrong or missed something - but no, just one of the lucky ones I guess. I enjoyed myself the days leading up, didn’t go crazy but ate what I wanted, and had a light dinner the night before surgery. I just was sleeved on Tuesday morning, and everything is great. NOW I’m suffering through the liquid diet. Lol

    January surgeries?!

So here’s an update from my surgery on Tuesday... the gas pains are scary. They move all around, from your abdominal area, through your chest and up to your neck and shoulders. It’s painful but good news is it only lasts a few day. It’s already A LOT better. The key = walking a lot and doing the deep breathing exercises. I also had a small hernia repair, so the doctor reminded me it’s 2 surgeries. There’s going to be more pain. Still went home yesterday, the day following surgery. All is going well. I can tell the liquid diet is going to suck (I’m on it for 2 weeks) but it is what it is. At least the surgery is over 🙏🏼

    January surgeries?!

I had my sleeve surgery 16 hrs ago. It’s been going pretty well. I’ve walked quite a bit, am able to tolerate liquids well and am urinating a lot. The pain is a little scary which I suppose is gas pains but they run from my chest to my shoulders so that is always a worrisome feeling. One thing that’s been bothering me is my oxygen level. They had me on oxygen after surgery, then took me off a few hours later when my oxygenation level was around 95/96 but it dropped to 90 a few hours later and have me on the oxygen again. I suppose that worries me with the chest pains. The nurse just kind of shrugs. Anyone else have that?

I’m scheduled for surgery on Tuesday 1/22. I’m nervous about EXACTLY the same thing!
