On my plan, after a two week liquid diet, we are to self advance to the week 3 "purée" then week 4 "soft stage" when we feel our body can handle it. It seems like you should be close enough to listen to your body. I would just make sure to soft scramble it and take it slow. Good luck!

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I hope they are giving you some strong anti-nausea medication to alleviate your nausea. Dry heaving after surgery is so painful. Good luck and get well soon💜

I had a panic attack too Kate! I was crying last night and told my husband that I could just call them and tell them I’m canceling. I know I would have regretted it though. I equate the feeling to when I had to put my beloved dog to sleep. While there I kept thinking I could save his life right now and just pick him up and take him home even though he was really suffering. It’s like a helpless feeling but you know you have no choice but to make the decision to go through it. I hope you’re feeling good and have a speedy recovery.

I got out of surgery at 4 and by 4:30 was walking the corridors. I begged my Dr. to PLEASE try to expel as much gas as possible before closing me up. I told him I experienced horrible gas pain in a past surgery and it really delayed the healing process so I guess he listened. I did vomit twice, which I usually don’t do, so they gave me some nausea medication and I feel great now almost no pain at all. Sipping water is no problem but the broth tasted like chicken bones and the popsicle and jello tasted so sweet I couldn’t eat them. I also swallowed my pills with no problem which I thought would hurt for some reason. Good luck on your healing my friends. I’ll be thinking about you every day and am excited to hear about your progress!

Enjoy this calm peaceful time. Its vey chaotic when you approach your date. Believe everyone that says it speeds up at the end. You will have so many things you'll want to wrap up at the last minute like thoroughly cleaning your house and running errands so you don't have to do anything strenuous after surgery. Your day will be here in no time and when it does I wish you good luck and good health 💜

Stop eating and drinking night before surgery
justmetj replied to april042019's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm also having my surgery today and I can drink clear liquids until I get to the hospital at 10:30 then no more drinking once I get there. My surgery is at 12:30. I guess all the liquids are all digested within that 2 hour period so you should be fine. Good luck with your surgery! -
Congratulations 👏👏👏 I can't wait to join you 😊

My paperwork was submitted Monday and I just got my phone call today that my insurance approved! They asked if next Thursday, April 4th would be ok and it kinda knocked the wind out of me. After 8 months this is really happening....fast. I now know what all you post-opers felt like. Every time I think about it I'm excited, scared, nervous, heart palpitations you name it I'm feeling it!

I know! My surgery center will not give a date until approval from insurance is received, but even then they told me my surgeon was 2-3 weeks out for surgery so I thought I had more time to get things in order. Since I'm so excited that I can't even sleep I've been up since 0200 ordereing bone broth, protein, you name it, so I should be ready come Thursday 😊

Thanks you guys!

Do you get hunger headaches post-op?
justmetj posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whenever I'm in a caloric deficit I get a hunger headache. I was just wondering if any of you that have dealt with this pre-op are still dealing with it post-op because of so few calories you're taking in. Basically do you have a headache all the time? -

justmetj replied to justmetj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks you guys. Now that I'm getting closer to getting a surgery date (they submitted to insurance on Monday) I'm really trying to think of anything that might come up after surgery that's either normal or not normal. So any input helps! -

Oh that's good you're feeling better! The headaches sound like they might be a problem after surgery until you're body gets used to the low calorie intake. Thanks for your input 💜
