Yes he was, on a Sunday morning the Saint LOL. I felt like a milkshake- back and forth and then he was like "there, there it is". Good on him!

Mine slipped. I went a long time with a slipped band because no one really thought it had slipped. I did a barium swallow and they "tipped" me during it in the machine. Voila!! They saw the pouch falling back into itself. Not only did I have the wrong sized band in me, it had slipped because it was too tight. After it was fixed, no more reflux either:)

Wheezy Whispers-AKA September's Goals

Hi Folks, Question. I take a lot of Tylenol 3. Is that a NSAID? Thanks -
Do you know if it has that "whey" taste to it? I have trouble getting it down if it does, but I would like to find a good protien powder.

When I read lappy’s email I did not think she was gossiping. I think that some people genuinely want to know what the circumstances are that he left under. I think if people knew why, there would be less speculation. And yes, I have to agree with lappy, not knowing and some of the other circumstances would make me wonder. Just because you don’t have a lot of posts under your belt does not mean your questions are any less valid. JMO.

Anyone had luck with insurance covering some/all of surgery?
lambchops replied to Scornelius's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Andrew, You may wish to ask Dr. Cobourn for an itemized bill. The ins. co. requested that so they could see what they could cover. Anesthesia was also covered. I am having trouble getting the spell check to work. I have downloaded it, but it is still not working. Any suggestions from anyone? -

Hello all. I have Sun Life insurance and they paid about $3000 for surgeons fees etc, but not for the band. It is now under appeal with the insurance company, but who knows what will happen there. -
Hi Cloe, Call and ask for their "Resolution" department. Works magic. I even got a few months of free service when I told them how mad I was. Good luck:)

Looking for lapband doctor in Canada

Min was exactly $15 000 CDN dollars. The consult is $200, but they take that off the price of the surgery if you go ahead. -
Eating solids 2 weeks after surgery
lambchops replied to lambchops's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ok, got the word from my very supportive doctor. Eating solids is fine as long as you CHEW. He suggests blender food as a lot of people need to learn to chew the food. He says I will not slip my band and I will not expand my stomach pouch. I feel better... Keep in mind your doc may have other ideas, this was jsut my experience! -

Will do mini! I am calling tomorrow. Hopefully they will not whip me with a wet noodle! -
Hello all, I had my lap band put in March 9 th and I am doing very well. The problem is that I started mushies and now I am up to solids faster than my doc advises. I feel very guilty and I am going to call my doc about it tomorrow. I have a full feeling early on and know when to stop and I chew chew chew. I am discouraged because I am not loosing weight now and I worry that I could be hurting myself. Any thoughts? Advice?

Ok, here it is. I have a 2 year old and 8 year old. You can NOT pick up the 2 year old, and that includes putting them in the car. I needed an adult home for four days ( including the day of the surgery) and then the 2 year old was in day care the rest of the week. My 8 year old helped me with a lot. Give yourself a good week with help. IMO it is better to have someone there too long than not long enough.
