  1. I recently discovered Fairlife protein shakes. They are absolutely delicious. The Fairlife Nutrition Plan has 30g Protein, 4 net carbs, 2g Sugar and 150 cals. Their Core Elite has 42g Protein and 9 net carbs, 8g of sugar. I also really like Iconic Protein Cafe Latte, a few mins in the freezer tastes like starbucks fraps.
  2. I stall A LOT. I have lost a total of 85 lbs in 9 months since surgery. However, I lost a ton in the beginning, like first two months and now I go weeks to months without a loss. I workout 6 times a day at a Boot Camp which supposedly burns 400-700 calories per workout and I eat about 700-800 calories per day. I have seen people starting at the same time, same weight and achieve better results. However, I feel without the surgery I could have never achieved anything. I did a liquid diet with 800 calories for 8 months and the results were blah pre-surgery. My metabolism then was around 1400 calories. I wonder where I stand now. I am scared I'll reach the 1 year mark and still have 60-80lbs to lose. I am 5'1 and currently weight 198 lbs.
  3. I was stalled for a while. I have been working out 6 days a week at a boot camp and eating well with not much of movement. Maybe I was gaining muscle mass. Anyhow today when I got on the scale, I had tears of joy. Finally reached ONEDERLAND.. HW: 329 lbs SW: 283 lbs CW: 199.6 lbs

    Small Victory

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. I am quite happy with the results. I feel so much healthier and move so much better!

    Weird things happening

I think this is normal. You aren't eating. You just had major surgery. I remember how EXHAUSTED I got from just taking showers. I couldn't eat much at all. I had no will to eat during the first few weeks. Like after I got out of the shower, I had to rest before I could even put on my clothes. I had no pain or anything, just weakness. It gets better with time. I am 8 months out and feel energized. I eat around 600-800 calories and workout everyday.
  6. Best: Being able to LOSE weight for a change. Also, it has changed my taste buds. I could never eat meat/chicken/steak.. I would get grossed out. Now I crave the protein. Getting full faster. Worst: While it is great getting full faster, it also sucks sometimes LOL. It's like you take two bites and you're done. Sometimes I feel deprived of food. I still have a lot of issues with head hunger.

    8 weeks post op...

I lost a bunch of weight my first two months. However, since then it has been extremely slow. I lose less than < 5 a month. Sometimes not even that. I workout 5-7 times a week at a boot camp and do hot yoga. It gets frustrating, however, I do not mind the slow results as long as I am stronger and I can move so much better.
  8. My dad couldn't tell the difference, and I had lost 60lbs. It was only after I had lost more and showed people before and after that some people noticed it. At times I stall, but my clothes fit better. I started to measure inches.

    How long was the surgery?

I'm not hungry... I want food.

I am 8 months out and I feel deprived sometimes too. I watch videos of food blogs on youtube and snapchat. It helps me, however, it could make it works for someone. I did that in the beginning too.

    The WORST Loser

EAT S L O W L Y. Allow your body to realize it is full. Chew your food thoroughly. Sometimes I end up spitting out my last bite because I have not realized I am full. I measure everything. Follow the rules. Eat protein first.

Stop Hard Core Workouts after Surgery

I am at 6 months and recently joined a boot camp. I really love it. I have PCOS and seem to do better with exercise in general. Also, I have lost a lot of muscle mass and my upper body strength is horrible. I also have more energy now as opposed to before. I totally agree that everyone needs to make a decision for themselves. I am losing slower now so thought it would be a good boost.

    Fear of having surgery??

The feeling is so normal. It was my first surgery too and I think I have waited so long due to the same fears. They did give meds. I remember being hauled and a bit scared. But they were so sweet, made jokes and the meds just calmed me down. It wasn't bad at all. I wish I had gotten it done sooner. Best of luck and hopefully all will go well.

    Before and After Pics

    Beautiful before and after.
  16. The only regret I have is that I didn't get it done sooner. Honestly, I was in more pain after my wisdom tooth surgery than this. I have struggled, dieted and battled with weight issues all my life. I have been exercising and dieting since I was 12! The quitting, the stalls and the no results. I am so happy with my decision.

    I'm in Onederland!

Congratulations! I bet it is a great feeling. I can't wait for myself to reach that goal.
  18. Sometimes it is hard for people to understand. The concept of surgery itself scares people. I have heard people say things like you can just diet. However, my parents were supportive. They have seen me struggle and try my best. I think surgery was the best decision I have ever made. I told my direct team at work also. It is nice when people notice changes!
  19. one piece is 160-190 calories? I cannot eat the whole bar either. I usually do it by oz. I do not exceed 2-3oz at a go. I wait and usually I am stuffed at this point. I do not go by calories as much in sense of how much I eat. I weight/measure. I do record my food to see how I am doing overall calories. I used to eat nuts, which I ended up cutting because I felt even with 1oz, that is like 160-170 calories, so I switched to Greek Yogurt which keeps me full and has more protein.
  20. When I get hungry, it comes with a vengeance. I always carry a protein bar or a snack with me. However, if I eat time to time, this isn't a problem. I also feel if I have a meal for lunch instead of protein bar/shake, it helps to keep me more satisfied. Hunger does exist, but I eat less.

    Best Protein Supplements

I got sick of Premier in general. After surgery, I cannot bare to look at them. So I swapped to Iconic Protein shakes. I love the Cafe Latte and it has caffeine. Chocolate isn't bad either.
  22. I am pretty open about it also. Most of my family and friends realized that I have worked VERY hard throughout with minimal results. If someone does not understand my decision then just be it. Weight loss surgery is a tool and is NOT easy. You still have to control your cravings and eat healthy. You still have to workout. So, the decision is yours. Also, if my journey can help someone, then why not?

    Feeling Hopless...:(

I had my surgery Jan 31st. I had a good loss the first few weeks. The scale barely moves after that. I lose once a month after my period around 2-4 lbs. However, I find that my clothes fit better even when the scale doesn't budge. So maybe concentrate on inches not weight. It took time to put on the weight, hence it will take time to put it off.
