I'm open. I don't offer the info, but many of my co-workers knew when I had it. A few people have asked and are now looking into it.

I started reeling restriction at 4.5. My surgeon wants me to wait 2 months for another fill.

Congratulations and welcome to bandland. All the best to you.

Been there - and I'm all teared up right now. What a beautiful thought. Thank you for sharing.

I guess I'm pretty lucky. Since banding I have not had any more problems with reflux. I stopped taken my meds a couple of months ago. I know how bad relux can be. Follow what you doctor says and have the endoscopy.

SOTC thread...Why NOT to post when your angry
ralheit replied to nursekathy2u's topic in Rants & Raves
As stated before, this site is for lapband support. Although I do believe that for the most part, the offers of prayer from people on this site is genuine and not meant as a slam or insult. I think we just have to remember that it is meant in a caring way. As far as friends. I have a real feeling of friendship here. Most of the people here are not only here for support but also to help others. That is why I joined this site. Not for all this fighting and carrying on that has been going on this week. Whatever it is about, I think everyone needs to get over it and remember what this site is for and why we are all here. I've only been here since January and maybe I've missed alot of what started this stuff, but as stated before enough is enough. -
I don't know what's going on around here lately. I'm on site atleast once a day and I somehow have missed out on all the bashing and lashing out that has been taking place here. And that's a good thing. I commend you for your stength and faith in getting to where you are. I just wish we could all stick to the reason for us all being here in the first place, the band and our journeys to a healthier and happier future. Why anyone needs to start trouble here just blows my mind. Congratulations on your health and your weight loss.

I have been having a real problem with mucas also. When I do PB, it's almost all mucas, little food. I constantly feel like I have a cold or something.

Who decides that I am unbalanced???
ralheit replied to Veggestyle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When I took my tests, I couldn't figure out how all of the questions I was asked had anything to do with being banded. Although I passed, the psychologist said I was very depressed, she even asked me several times whether I had ever considered suicide!!!! But she still passed me and I was able to be banded. So I wouldn't worry about it. Just be honest and everything will be fine. -
Who Still Drinks Caffeine In The Morning??
ralheit replied to ItsGottaGo!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I drink coffee, and more than one in the morning. My doctor never said no caffeine. -
Welcome Peanut and congratulations on everything. I have been losing at about 1.5 pounds per week. I was banded in March. Many others have lost much faster, some slower. It will all depend on you. Were any of your previous weight loss attempts followed by a physician? If so, you may be able to use that for your 6 month diet and get banded sooner. Best of luck to you.

I was stuck at 11 pounds for a couple of months. I increased my water intake and it helped. I still can't work out much because of arthritis, but it's slowly getting better. Can't wait till I can get around more and be more active. Try the water, it helped me.

This is depressing ladies. I know I will also have loose skin somewhere down the road, but aren't you happy about where you have come health wise? There has got to be something positive enough to outweigh the skin issues. Please tell me there is.

Typical to be on protein drink only 2 wks prior to banding?
ralheit replied to pumpkin5's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon uses Optifast liquid and bars for the two weeks prior to surgery. The amount you get to have is based on your weight and bmi. -
How many had complication that kept them from returning to work after 2-3 wks?
ralheit replied to samos's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was out for 3 weeks, hospitalized for about 12 days. I did have some complications, but after doing these for more than 2 years, I was the first my surgeon had seen. My stomach somehow tightened up too much and I had to have an NG tube placed to bring up all the bile from my stomach. I dry heaved for days before the tube was placed. I also had sudden blood pressure problems. The highest during hospitalization was 239 over 90 or so. I don't remember the diastolic number. But this is extremely rare and I wouldn't go back for anything. I am happy with my band and I made it just fine. I'd do it all over again. -
I was allowed ground beef at the transitional state from mushies to solids. But no steak or roasts for 6 months. It isn't that hard to wait for it and it isn't worth any problems you may have.
-
I can't wait to be having your problem. Have fun shopping.

I feel discomfort in my chest when eating. It is usually with the first few bites, then it will subside. But that's as close as what you are saying. Don't know if it is the same thing.
-
You will need to have chewable vitamins for after the band. Couldn't hurt to start early. Your doctor will tell you everything you need to do. Good Luck to you.

Let me know how I can help. Gift card or what. Send me your address.

Trish, you're very welcome. I just wanted to send you some things that would help to pamper you a little with all you've been going throug. Hope you enjoy them.

Great to be a loser- add your thoughts

I'm finally walking without my cane. Not quite at 45 minute walks yet, but I hope to get there soon. Less huffing and puffing when I'm moving around. Beginning to be happy to be me again. -
Welcome to LBT. Great place, great people. Lots of information. Best of luck to you.
