    Where is your port located

    Mine is located right under my left breast bone. It's a low profile port and I wouldn't have it anywhere else. My bra doesn't bother it and while you can easily feel it if you press there, it's not visible to the naked eye yet. It only bothers me during certain exercises that really pull at my muscles but I think it's like that for most people.
  2. Wow! 30 pounds in a month is awesome! Do you have alot to lose? I'll be happy if I lose 60 more pounds, 80 would be awesome, but I'll be good with 60.

     

    Mark has done all my fills. He's hilarious! I like him alot and it never hurts when he does it. I've only had 2 fills. I go back in June for my 3rd. That's really my only complaint is that you have to wait so long in between fills. Do you feel like you have much restriction? I still can eat quite a bit so I have to watch it and exercise like a madwoman! They seem pretty happy with my results at Dr. Lord's office though so I must be doing something right lol

     

    It's nice to meet someone else in town that has the band and the same doctor. We'll have to keep tabs on one another =)

    Countdown to Onederland!

    It's been slow going for me too! I'm now at 203. UGH! It feels like it's taking forever but I have been SICK. I kept joking the nurses at work that I have swine flu but it's just been a terrible knock you down cold accompanied with a fever so I haven't been able to exercise in a few days. Hoping to get better and pass this hump quickly.

    LOL I'm not a morning person either, girls. It's just that I work M-F 8-5 so I have to do it sometime. I'm also super girly so I will not show up at work without makeup which means I have to get up at the crack of dawn to fit everything in and make it to work on time. *SIGH*:smile2:

    Anyone else NOT a fitness overachiever?!

    Hi Ladies!!! I have a love/hate relationship with exercise. I love how I feel afterwards and the way it shapes my body but I hate dragging myself out of the bed to do it. I started trying to fit exercise in after work and I found myself making too many excuses (ie. I'm tired, need to cook the kids dinner, my hubby has school, etc.) So, now I'm waking up at 4:30 am :thumbup: to do Slim in 6 before I go to work. I'm doing that DVD 5 days a week and on the weekends I take my baby out in the stroller and jog. I can definitely tell I'm getting stronger. I took all my measurements last month and this month I'm down 12 total inches on my body!! We can do it!
  13. Thanks so much! I'm one of those people who hates to exercise so I'm forcing myself to get up every morning at 4:30 am to get it over and done with for the day. It's hard but gets a little easier every day. I'm hoping one day the exercise fairy will sprinkle some "cardio dust" on me and turn me into one of those people who just loves to exercise! Lisa, I didn't mean to imply that you're not following the bandster rules. I just wanted to let you know that even with a fill, it is hard. Restriction doesn't always happen right away. I'm at 4.5 cc's and don't have restriction. Just wanted to prepare you and give you some hope that you can still work the band in the meantime :smile:
  14. Lisa, Indigo's post was actually really spot on. I know it's hard. My own doctor won't do fills till 8 weeks post op and then it's an evaluate every 6 week thing. I was banded in January and I am just now getting my 2nd fill next week. I can't just call and come in for a fill and while I understand that is frustrating, try and look at all you can be doing right now. I am logging all my calories on dailyplate and exercising 6 days a week. I've lost 38 pounds since surgery. And while, yes, that's not 70 like some people you will read about, it's a loss. And since I'm doing all the right things now, I know that when I hit restriction it will only make the weight loss that much easier. What I'm trying to say is use this time to develop the life long habits we need as banded people. You can do it! Good luck!

    Why do women have anal sex?

    I guess I'm a weird one because I just don't like it. To me, it feels like I have to take a crap and I cannot get past that sensation. I guess for everyone it's different. I'm still a down girl though so my dh has no room to complain. We have sex 4-5 times a week and I'm the bj queen. No anal sex here. No apologies :smile:
  16. Hi all! I too am going through the same thing. I've only had one fill and am at 4.5 cc's. I do not have restriction so I'm dieting. I've never been stuck, slimed, pb'd or any of the sort. I do make good food choices and I exercise 6 days a week. I am losing but not as fast as I'd hoped. Unfortunately, my doctor's office won't just let you come in for a fill. They schedule them 6 weeks apart. I go in for my 2nd fill next week. I'm gonna see if he'll give me another aggressive fill. I'll keep you posted and hang in there everyone!

    The article made me sad I remember watching that show long ago and thinking I just needed to push myself more. I once lost 100 pounds on my own but I gained it all back. I'm so glad I got the band.

    Re: the ones who gain the weight back I found this article online about one of the contestants, Kai from season three. It's a really interesting read and sad in many ways. She talks about some of the product placement Biggest Loser pushes. Less attention was paid to diet, though there were plenty of product placements. Like the day they did a segment on drinking milk as part of a weight-loss plan. "That was sponsored by the dairy board," she said.     Hi Everyone! You all look fantastic! I'm only 3 months out so not a huge difference yet but I do have a before surgery picture and recent one in my album. I hope I do as well as all of you! I've only had one fill so far and not a lot of restriction. At this point, I'm basically dieting. I exercise 6 days a week too :tt1:

    can anyone tolerate chicken?

    Chicken along with ground turkey is my staple food. I have no problem with it going down but I chew, chew, chew. However, red meat just gives me this awful stomach ache. I can get it down fine but feel like crap later. The band is a very strange creature.

    Popcorn?!?

    Man, I'm so jealous!! I cannot do popcorn =( It has nothing to do with getting stuck either. I've tried it twice since being banded and both times I have terrible stomach cramps afterwards. I have no idea what the deal is. The same thing happens if I eat red meat so I've had to cut that out too :cool2:
