Weird Stuff That Delayed Your Surgery Approval
Mindyd2006 replied to 🅺🅸🅼🅼🅸🅴🅺's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to have 90 days with a nutritionist before my insurance would approve and then I had to have my family doctor recommend I had the surgery. In addition, the surgeon required a psych appointment along with 3 group counseling sessions - all standard for sleeve patients. Once everything was completed - and only then - would they submit to insurance. Insurance came back less than a week later with approval and then the surgery was scheduled. I had no surprises - everything was well mapped out and went as planned. Good luck with your insurance and surgery. Btw - I started the process on 8/30/18 and had my surgery on 1/10/19. -
When Can I Travel After Gastric Bypass Surgery?
Mindyd2006 replied to Gottajustdoit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my sleeve done on 1/10 and flew on 1/16 with no problems. I made sure to bring protein drinks and what not so I was prepared. I honestly felt great and had no issues. You should be fine - good luck! -
Had my surgery on 1/10 and started full liquids on the 18th. The last couple of days I have also felt hungry. I’m a little concerned because I’m eating my 2 ounces of food and it doesn’t make me feel full. I’ve decided I’m not getting enough water - so focusing on that. It’s tough but I’m powering through this. Can’t wait until the 30th when I can have mashed potatoes. Really hoping they make me feel full. I feel your pain.

I had my surgery on the 10th. Overall everything is going pretty good except I’m super tired. Anyone else exhausted? -
January surgeries?!
Mindyd2006 replied to jessicaalyssa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello! I’m really glad I found this app; I’ve been researching for months, however it’s great having people to ask who are going through the same experience. My surgery date is on 1/10 - less than 48 hours away. Nervous - yet really excited. I’ve been on a 2 week period diet consisting of protein shakes and fruits and vegetables the first week and nothing but protein shakes the second way. Hasn’t been too bad and I’ve lost 14 lbs - so that’s a plus. Good luck to everyone!
