I live in Florida and I too get tender around my port and my band gets very tight. I drove up to RI to visit my family and as soon as I got there I was able to eat way too much. When I got back to Florida I couldn't eat a thing. I went to my doctor to get an until and he told me that the sinuses are directly connected to the issue I was having with my band. He said that post nasal drip causes the band to tighten. He said my sinuses cleared up in RI and when I got back to FL they clogged back up. So I went again for a fill last week and have only been able to tolerate liquids; I came down with a cold a few days after my fill. I bought some nasal spray and was able to eat immediately. So I totally understand. For the longest time i wondered why one day i could eat and the next day i couldnt now i know its from Living in Florida and having sinus issues often. And my nose isn't stuffy unless I'm sick but apparently I always have sinus pressure so I guess this nasal spray will be my new best friend

Hey guys! I was banded on may 24th after about 3 years of jumping through the insurance hoops I decided to self pay. I have spent hours on this site reading and researching and all I can say is thank god for this site So, basicly I have all these different feelings in my stomach and I don't know what they are. I get sharp pains that Hurt really bad that I think are hunger pangs but I'm not sure. It wakes me up from my sleep. Im on a full liquid diet Overall I have alot of discomfort in my stomach period. Tightness. When I breath in deep I feel the tightness. I don't understand what the full feeling is supposed to feel like. I'm afraid to "push it". And often times I'll drink Water and feel like I need to burp but can't. Please help lol

So today is day 7 of being banded and I have some serious soreness around my port incision. Is this normal? Gas pains and stomach pains are gone but now it seems my Port is even more sore. If I stretch or Sit up in bed I really feel it. It's like a hand size area that is sore even though the incision is only 2 inches....

:w00t::cursing:I'm so frustrated!! 3 months ago my surgeons office told me that my ins. required 6 months of medically supervised weight loss treatment (within a 2 year span) before getting an appt...After calling my ins. co (bcbs of tx) they told me that Weight Watchers was accepted as supervised weight loss and my surgeon's office agreed...So now 3 months in I call my surgeons office as they told me to so that I could start my appts with them. I faxed over my WW paperwork and they call me today and said that I had to be having monthly visits with my doctor while I was doing weight watchers..She must have forgot to tell me that part!!!!! So now I'm back at square one...Starting all over again 6 months of medically supervised weight loss....I have to do 6 months now because the other 3 months I did with a Dr. will now be too out of date to submit by the time I do 3 more months of WW..Yay!!! Ugh!! Anybody have any info on this or has anyone gone through this before?

Help!!! How to obtain 5 year history of obesity
Coley21 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please Help!! My insurance Co (bcbs of TX) requiers a 5 year history of obesity...I don't have that!! I didn't go to the doctor as much as as I should have over the past five years. I haven't even seen the surgoen yet but I am trying to get everything ready now so I don't have to stall the operation when the time comes and I feel I've hit a wall with this one. I have had my primary doctor for about a year but there is a 3 year gap where I don't have medical records. I'm 24, can I use my childhood records if they are attainable? Ugh, I can't believe this minor issue could hold me back!! Is it possible to show pictures as proof?? Please Help me.....Advice anyone:confused2: -

I haven't gone to the ER or anything like that and all the diets I've tried through the Dr's have been within the last year and a half. I'll get as many records as I can and keep my fingers crossed..... -

Thanks Brian. I live in Florida but through my employer I have BCBS of Texas. I have wanted this for as long as I can remember. My primary doctor told me "no" a year ago, so I took it upon myself to start looking into it. I called my ins. co. and they told me that they do cover it. I actually found a doctor on here through someone else's post. I called the office and they signed me up for the seminar, which I went to last night. At the seminar the Surgeon said w/ ins it takes between 2-4 months (much quicker than I expected) and self pay is about 3-4 weeks! ..........Counting the days.............. ........keeeping my fingers crossed....... Wondering if there is anyone out there with BCBS of TX that has already been through the process?

They told me at the seminar that they would call me to set up the appt. so I guess I just have to wait..Grrr i'm so impatient LoL
