    Nasty Cravings

PN that was a very interesting read and its true about the cravings. Being fairly new at this band things has been hard. I can do well all day its late afternoon evenings when those demon cravings appear and the will power is challenged to the max. I only work three days a week so when i home alone its the worsest. I recently joined CURVES but it seems that sometimes even after exercising I have cravings. I also live in Alaska where at times cant always do things outside, cant wait for another month plan on getting me a bike and may try riding it to work and back and will be able to take it out on my days off and ride the abundant bike trails in our city.

    R U a NASCAR Fan...Let's Talk!

I CANT BELIEVE JIMMY JOHNSON WON TODAY.........I was pulling for anyone except Hendrick camp. Not many wrecks today, it is like hockey the more fights the better the game, the more wrecks the better the action. I like the shorter tracks and of course im all for the "Restrictor Plate" races. Well on to Alanta next week. I have all kinds of Dale Jr. stuff too. We try to buy new t-shirts every year, waiting until I get small to buy me a jacket. I even deck out the car with Dale Jr stuff.:clap2: :clap2:
  4. I am 9 weeks post-op and have had one fill which did nothing much for me. The first couple weeks after fill slight restriction, got fuller little faster but could still eat alot. Its been 3 weeks since fill and now I can eat almost anything and bigger portions is this normal??? Hopeing to get another fill this week or next... Not to mention I have gained 2.5 pounds this week... Also I am having the pulling sensation in my stomach about where the band should be I seem to notice this more about 30 mins after eating is this the pouch stretching some or is the food trying to pass through the stoma. It doenst really hurt but is noticeable on intermittent basis, NOT CONSTANT feeling and can last for a couple hours . Would appreciate some feedback. PLEASE!

    PCOS (Poly Cycstic Ovarian Disease)

I had PCOS and after one surgery to remove cysts they came right back within several months. It ended killing my ovaries and so had to have hysterectomy. I am still suffering from the weight gain from the PCOS and was banded in 1/06

    New from central tx

Hey fellow Texan. I grew up in Stephenville. I currently live in Anchorage Alaska. I was totally impressed with Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta, MX. www.drjoya.com also see my blogs below.

    What did you pay

I paid $8000 on inclusive to go to Dr. Joya for my surgery, airfare and hotel, plus $1500 for extra hotel nights and DH's airfare. It was well worth it. My aftercare is $195 per fill here in Alaska.

    Joya in Puerto Vallarta

Dr. Joya did my banding 1/7/06, I have nothing but good things to say about him and his team. They were up front with me and followed through with everything they promised. The set up in PV is wonderful, the resort they set you up in is 5 star+, the hospital was awesome and me and my husband were treated very well. I had been doing my research for over 2-3 years. His website is www.drjoya.com and there is link into his support group, lots of good information. Plus his price for procedure is so much easier on the pocketbook. PM me if you want more information.:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

    Thinking about being banded.

I was banded 1/7/06, and I have already been able to come off one of my diabetic meds and cut the other one in half. Within the next month I will be off all diabetic meds. Also hope to be off blood pressure meds soon also. I had done research for over 3 years and had only been diagnosed last year with Type 2 diabetes. I have nothing but good things to say about the lapband. I have lost 26 pounds since my surgery date.

    Ovarian Cysts?

I had polycystic ovaries. I had surgery in 2000 to remove cysts which came back within a couple of months and then in 2003 had to have total hysterectomy as my ovaries were so damaged and they also found polyps in uterus during surgery that was not found during any previous tests. The polyps were malignent. There was apparently some correlation between cysts and polyps. This was all before banding. The surgery in 2000 was day sugery in and out with minor pain. Now with the hysterectomy was in hospital for 3 days and down from work 6 weeks.:cry

    can't stop eating

:hungry:I am 6 weeks post-op today, and have totally NO restriction. The only problems I have is eating too much and too fast then I get the old chest pain. LUCKILY I get my first fill 2/21...YEAHHH. I have last 24 pounds since surgery. So I hope this fill will help with my eating. I too can do really good all day and then night time rolls around and I want to eat everything in sight.:think Unforntunately, my DH has to have some of the things around to make his lunches with, but he is willing to try something different to take the temptation out of the house. May have to put it all under lock and key and he ONLY have the key. Lets all pray for GOD to give us the will power we need..

    Newbie

Hello all, I am new to this site, been lurking around and decided to introduce myself. I am impressed with this site and all the support that is shown to each new member and all the informtion that is available. I am 39 y/o married RN in Anchorage AK. I have 2 dogs, 1 cat. My husband is very supportive on my banding and my journey. I was banded 1/7/06, 4 weeks out. Due to my insurance wouldnt cover my surgery and so ended up having to go to Mexico. Dr. Joya in Puerto vallarta did my surgery. I have nothing but good things to say about him and his team. I have hardly no restriction:hungry: :cry now so have to watch myself closely. I am having a hard time finding a fill Dr., here in Anchorage ALaska. I have found one but he charges $490 each fill, is this about average or my thinking a little high priced. If I dont find anyone else guess I will be working some overtime to pay for my fills and pay off my loan for band surgery.:think
