Day 1 on the Pre Op Diet!
MarvelGirl25 replied to MarvelGirl25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist told me to stick to minimum 15 grams of protein per shake and four shakes per day. I've been drinking Atkins protein shakes. I'm going to switch to the Premiere water and shakes because they have less calories of fat and more vitamins then the one I'm currently drinking. -
Day 1 on the Pre Op Diet!
MarvelGirl25 replied to MarvelGirl25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks! Ill definitely try that! Do you think it will work the same with protein water and be just as filling? I just bought a pack of the orange mango premier protein water and I noticed it has less calories than the Atkins shake I'm currently drinking. -
Day 1 on the Pre Op Diet!
MarvelGirl25 replied to MarvelGirl25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nice! Congrats! Just two days before mine I feel the same. Its a psychological thing for sure. We gotta do everything possible to stay strong! I've been trying to think about it this way: If I cant do the pre op diet without cheating then I cant do the diet after surgery and I wont have long term success. Good luck! ❤️ -

Day 1 on the Pre Op Diet!
MarvelGirl25 replied to MarvelGirl25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! Sounds like you're doing great! I guess once I start losing weight on this diet I'll continue to stay motivated. Maybe I should start sleeping early because I also get hungriest at night. You're right, protein shakes are not really weird to be having but I'm just trying to be extra careful so that my coworkers don't find out I'm having surgery. I ended up pouring two shakes in a container and added a ton of ice. I've been sipping all day and just finished. One of them asked me what I was drinking this morning and the first thing I blurted out was horchata lol. Good luck to you too! You're a vet, you got this! -

Ahhh yes the stares. I feel like people are staring at me all the time. I'm paranoid when I go out. Its sooo bad. -

MarvelGirl25 replied to AnnieD78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I relate to this on so many levels... I'm an introvert and struggle to leave my house unless I'm going to work. Its mostly because I'm so self conscience about my weight, embarrassed, and ashamed. I'm hoping I feel the same way you feel after surgery. -

I'm getting extremely impatient as I get closer to the date! I just want to do this thing already. Liquid diet starts this Monday so I've just been getting everything I need for that. -

Weirdest things you are looking forward to after surgery
MarvelGirl25 replied to Krestel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here's my list: 1. Buying clothes I actually like and develop my own style instead of just buying what fits. 2. Stop asking for a seat belt extender on a plane. 3. Go on rides to amusement parks again. 4. Go skydiving, play sports, and even go walking without running out of breathe. 5. Stop having to push the table at a booth forward for more room. 6. sleep without a CPAP machine. 7. Comfortably fit into the desks at school. 8. Lose my fear of sitting on plastic and metal foldable chairs. 9. Have more shoes! Its almost impossible for me to find sneakers or any other type of shoe. 10. Not sure if this one will ever change but I want my bf's family to stop judging me based off my looks. I hope they finally see that I'm good enough for him This also applies to my coworkers and future job interviews. 11. Feel confident walking into a room full of people. 12. Get married! My bf wants to get married and has tried to casually ask me about my expectations on my dream proposal. We've been together for a while now but I told him I cant picture myself getting proposed to or even having a wedding while I'm huge. I want to be able to fit into an engagement ring. 13. Like taking pictures. I hate it now and avoid photos constantly 14. Stop avoiding mirrors. 15. Idk if anyone can relate to this one but I want to be that friend that other friends call to go out for a night drinking with. The kind of night where you get dressed up and just have a good time as girls. I have a nice group of friends but I don't get invited much to those kinds of nights because of my weight. I don't blame them. I feel so unfeminine and the feeling is written all over me. I want to be able to go shopping with friends and do girly things with them without having to feel like the fat friend that no one asks advice from on whether something looks cute or not. 16. TO LIVE A LONG AND HEALTHY LIFE! -
Sorry guys... posted in the wrong thread lol

Yes especially to 1 & 2! My bf is not overweight and I am. Most woman find him very attractive (my observation but all the heads he turns) and we get so many stares when out in public. I think people are staring for the same reason: "Why is he with her shes fat..." -

Yessss! I just spent the last half hour going through this thread and I couldn't stop laughing Im a pretty chill person in general... Ive been told Im too relaxed, even in intense situations. I wonder if this surgery will spark a dramatic moment for me. I just hope its not poop. I've been on the other side of it, having to help friends who accidentally had an accident... pretty crazy lol

Omg congrats!! ❤️❤️❤️ My liquid diet starts July 22 and I'm doing the same. Its tough but we have to be strong. Its hard saying goodbye to old habits when friends and family just want to take you out to eat so you can properly say goodbye to all the food you love lol -
LATINOS or ANYONE Familiar with Latin/Peruvian Culture & Food - HELP!!!
MarvelGirl25 replied to MarvelGirl25's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you so much! All the information you provided really helped and made me realize a lot of things. I guess I have to put what I feel behind and look at the new journey ahead of me. My family crying feeling bad hasn't helped much with this. I think I just have to see how I feel after surgery and how I adjust to my new stomach. Everyone is different. Reading about people not being able to handle spice, seasonings, and even meat really scared me. Its a learning curve, so we''ll see! BUT I'm glad to know that certain Peruvian dishes minus the carbs still might be possible lol -
Good luck! Everything will go great! This is the start to a wonderful journey!
