Day 6: New day, new opportunity and so far so good. No cheating, no temptation, just sticking to my planned meals. I'm getting blood work done today to see how my vitamin levels are. Hopefully everything is fine. Honestly, I'm grateful for ALL nature and its creatures but I'm most grateful for the sky. Ahhhh the sky... whats not to say, you are beautiful in all your forms. I love looking up during the storms, during the colorful sunrises, and during the cool sunsets. Its a good representation of life. We have those cloudy gray problems, we have those colorful exciting days, and sometimes we have warm calmer days. Its all so beautiful no matter the circumstance. I'm especially grateful for the cloudy sky's and storms. Its what makes me stronger and I've learned to appreciate them. A while back I was watching the show called The Chef's Table on Netflix and this particular episode was about pastry chef Christina Tosi. She was talking about the struggles she faced while trying to make it in NYC as a pastry chef. She was working crazy hours, she was always tired, she was broke, and she was away from her family. I remember her saying that even though she was going through all that she was "blissfully in love with the journey." That's what I think of when I look up at the sky, regardless of how the day is going. I'm learning to be blissfully in love with the journey and through the obstacles. Here are three pictures I took a while back. I'm obsessed with capturing pictures of the sky. Its crazy how strong the colors were! No filter needed! At the time I was using an old phone so the quality is not the best. The blue one with the lake is at a park in the middle of the day, the pink one is a sunset, and the last one is a sunrise.

Day 5: The challenge has been going good. Its super easy to avoid pastries and candy at work since I don't care for sweets but there was something I did do, which was take a sip of coke. It was a small sip, extremely small, not a big deal, but I'm still disappointed I gave in. I'm not even a soda drinker, barely drank soda before surgery but I something in me just wanted to try it again lol. The item I'm most grateful for in my house is my bed and my alpaca wall decoration. Bed: Who doesn't like to sleep??? I'm getting tired at this very moment just thinking about taking a nap 😏 Alpaca wall decoration: It looks something like the picture below. Its hugeee and made out of real alpaca fur! Its the softest thing Ive ever felt. PETA don't come for me, the alpacas are not harmed or killed to make this. They're actually very sacred to Peruvians, especially to the people who live in the Andes. I got it the first time I went to Peru and its a daily reminder of my time spent there and my family. It just gives me peace every time I look at it.

Day 3: The food I'm most currently grateful for would have to be chicken and watermelon. There's so many different dishes you can make with chicken and its been the best source of protein for me since its so easily digested. I chose watermelon too because it was what got me through my horrible recovery. I wasn't able to tolerate any kind of protein shakes or food except for watermelon. Day 4: Best memory I'm grateful for ... hmmm.. let see... there's just so many to chose from. I'm grateful for each Christmas & New Year's spent with my family. These two holidays are such a huge thing in my family and Ill forever cherish the parties and time I spend with them. I'm looking forward to this year! As for the November challenge, well I ate potatoes two days in a row... My nutritionist said potatoes are perfectly fine to eat so but I also hear a lot of people staying away because of Keto. Ive been able to stay away from everything else though!

Today's lunch, more stews. I was only able to eat half a thigh and half of a small potato. -
Day 2: I’m most grateful for my phone. It just makes my daily life so much easier. I’m also grateful for finding out that there’s such a thing as digital planners. An iPad is on my Christmas list this year. It will replace my physical planner. As far as the negative feedback goes, I guess you can say I’ve somewhat experienced it. No one knows about my surgery except for my parents, siblings and bf. They have been very supportive, but each week my dad is constantly asking me if I’ve lost weight. When I tell him that I’m stalling he looks at me like there is something wrong, as if the surgery is not doing enough, or I’m not doing enough. He expects the weight to just fly right off. I know he doesn’t have bad intentions but it just makes me feel like I’m not doing good and I’ll be fat forever lol I’m really trying the best I can...

My first time eating a salad since surgery! I was given the clear to give it a shot so I made a ground turkey salad. Cooked the turkey in a stew type way then added corn. I combined it to the second container which has romaine, black beans, tomatoes, light sour cream, and low fat Mexican cheese. Had no problems eating it. It went down pretty smooth surprisingly. Left overs will be for dinner. Meat & veggies mixed: After: -
Any August 2019 people out there?

I'm going to give this a shot. My carbs usually come from milk and sometimes cherios but other days I have no complex cabs. I keep stalling too. Not sure if its the water or what. Thanks! -
1. My personal goal for this month is to drink more water. I keep stalling and I think its because of the water intake. 2. I had the sleeve on 8/5/19 (post op & losing) 3. 312 lbs & 55 BMI 4. I'm most grateful for the extra 10 minutes of sleep I was able to get this morning I'm also just grateful that I have another day of life to live and that I woke up. God is good. Oh and as far as the challenge goes, the no potatoes thing is going to be tough for me....

Thank you! And yessss I am Its nice to know that even after surgery I can eat some what of the same things. I was worried my new stomach wouldn't be able to handle some of the spices and condiments that are used in Peruvian dishes but I haven't had a problem so far. -

Today's lunch: Peruvian chicken stew made with a soy sauce and ginger base. The veggies are orange bell peppers and scallions. This time I ate the potatoes. I know it doesn't look nice since I took apart the chicken but its all about the flavor! Most of the dishes I make are suppose to be eaten with rice but I've been getting use to the no rice thing. The leftovers ended up being my dinner. It took me all day to finish the rest. After: -

¡Hola!

For todays lunch I made Portuguese soup, the perfect food for rainy days! It has linguisa, kale, cabbage, potatoes, kidney beans, cannellini beans, elbows, and a few other ingredients. I ate a little less than a cup and avoided the elbows. I believe it was close to 200 calories. I remembered to take an after shot this time -

I would kill for a restaurant that sold Peking duck near me. There’s this one spot but it’s not a dine in place. Since surgery all I’ve been wanting is duck and dumplings... the dreams have been starting lol -
