Hello, Thought I would tell you about my experience. I was banded in February and all was working perfectly until I had my 2nd Fill. This was a clinical fill and he put too much in there - I couldn't drink the Water and so went back in for some to be taken out. I felt immediate relief and so went on my merry way. Well from then on I had no restriction whatsoever - I have had two more fills in the meantime (each time there was nothing left in the band) the last under flouro to discover if I had a leak. They couldn't see where it was coming from so they determined that I had a slow leak. I am scheduled for a rebanding this Saturday 11th Nov. I am struggling at the moment with the pre-op liquid diet, as this must be a new thing - I didn't have to do this before! Good luck to you if you have to be re-banded - please think of me in your prayers for Saturday. Thanks Jen -
Any Shropshire/ West Midlands bandsters?

Hello, My name is Jenny and I live in the West Midlands - near Merry Hill Centre (great for late night shopping!!) I had my op in February and after an initial weight loss of 2 stone - my last two fills have not worked and I have put on 1/2 a stone. They think I have a slow leak as I have restriction to start with - then after a couple of weeks it is gone!! I will probably have to have another op to repair the leak - not looking forward to that!. I did have a fill on Monday - 3ml in a 4ml band - fantastic restriction - wish it would last though! I didn't see whether you have had the band yet or not. Good Luck in whatever you do. Jenny -
Second fill...finally know what restriction is!!

Hi, Well done! that's great! I am so jealous!! Did this "kick in" straight away when you had your fill? I have just had a second fill a week ago and I still don't feel restriction. Once again - congrats! Jen -
2nd Fill - feels like I can eat anything!

Hi, Thanks for your informative post. I have a 4 ml Inamed Band. First fill was 1.5ml. Second fill was 1ml - then he took out 0.3ml. Total now 2.2ml - so over half full. I'm hoping that I get the "kick in" soon - I can't afford another fill just yet!! Jen -
2nd Fill - feels like I can eat anything!

Well - here's where I am a bit fickle. I enjoy my food and no I don't think I would be satisfied with just a few spoonfuls - but I also want to feel some restriction otherwise what would be the point in having the band in the first place! I guess I am looking for something in the middle!! -
Can anyone help? :help: I had my second fill on Saturday. It was so full I couldn't even keep Water down and had to have a little bit taken out. I was on liquids all weekend and then back to normal. I was hoping for a bit of restriction but I feel I can eat alot. I thought I would be full after a few spoonfuls! Does it take an amount of time to kick in?? Please let me know your experiences. Thanks Jen

Can anyone help me? I have booked in for a fill on Saturday because I have stopped losing (I have blamed it on antihistamines, antibiotics, the weather! everything!) I feel like I eat too much and get hungry in between meals - however - I still PB! This is usually when I eat too quickly or choose the wrong type of food. Will they still do a fill if I tell them that I am PBing?? Please tell me your experiences. Thanks Jen

Hello from the other side of the Atlantic!

Hi, I am also from the UK and was banded on 11th Feb. I go to Dolan Park - the one on Supersize Surgery. Best of luck - you will be fine. Feel free to send me a personal message - we'll have a chat! Bye Jen -
Hi, Just had to post my story - very similar to some I have read - but here goes. I had a wonderful childhood - my parents would take me to the ends of the earth for my sport - which was synchronised swimming. I exercised every day - I was thin and ate anything I wanted. Of course in every field there are different shapes - I certainly wasn't the thinnest or the biggest - but I still felt FAT. When I gave up synchro (because of a boy!!) I stopped exercising - but carried on eating exactly the same - the weight starting to creep on. I went to my first slimming club at 16 - lost a little bit but my metabolism was screwed up so it was a struggle from then on. I got married and had my first baby at aged 25 - I gained 3 stone - I was told it would fall off! - It never did - instead I gained another 2 stone. Had my second baby at 29 - gained a further 2 stone. So 3 years later still carrying all that extra weight - I was 20 stone (believe me in the UK when we talk about stones - 20 is a shocker!!) That is when I decided to look into the lap-band. I had tried many diets - I could never stick to any of them for more than 2 weeks - I tried slimming tablets Xenical - BAD reaction!! Then on February 11th 2006 I had my lap band fitted. Since then I have lost 24 pounds, have started swimming again (its the only thing I can do!) and even did an aquafit lesson on Tuesday - my calves are killing me today!!) This tool that we have is the only thing that has ever worked for me and I can now see me reaching my goal - it was never going to happen before. The only sad thing is that people are starting to notice that I am losing weight and commenting on it - while this feels great I get very embarrased and blush - its like while I am fat I am invisible and now people are noticing me - its gonna take a lot to get used to. Thanks for listening to me. Jen

I love reading posts about what you guys buy from Walmart - its one of my favourite shops - and it really reminds me of being on holiday - (I live in the UK) I LOVE FLORIDA!! Anyone got any tips or help (from an American point of view) Love Jen

HI, Need your advice. I had my first fill 1 week ago and only just last night feel that it has kicked in! I know I'm just learning but I can't seem to realise when I am comfortably full - then suddenly I've had too much and it feels stuck (and painful). :omg: It feels like its a very fine line - and I've just crossed it!! I haven't had a PB yet - not looking forward to that! I would be very interested to hear your "learning" stories. Thanks Jen
