Hello all! I was sleeved July 23rd. Weight loss for me has slowed down here lately too. I still see it go down just not as fast as it was. Starting weight was 238. Pre op weight 221 and currently I am 165. My goal is 135. I'm only 5'4 1/2.
I'm not a Breakfast person so I drink a Premier Protein chocolate shake over ice in the morning. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.
My weakness is sugar in the evenings...particularly skittles🙄
Working on cutting back on that. I know the honeymoon phase is almost over so I need to get that in check and start working out regularly.
My bum has become flat (which I'm happy about seeing as I've always had a big bum) but bc I don't have muscle back there from not working out and losing weight it hurts to sit bc of my now boney tailbone. Anyone else have that??
Need to get to the gym and work on that.

Hello all! It has been a long time since I have posted. I am a little over 4 months out. I was sleeved on July 23rd. I have quite a bit to say, however will keep this post short and post on my blog later regarding my progress. I started back drinking regular coffee after my 1st month out. However, I did encounter some issues with cramping, nausea, and diarrhea. I had to go through a period of elimination to figure out if it was the coffee or something else causing the symptoms. Needless to say after several trials I found out with great sadness that I am now lactose intolerant due to the surgery. It has taken quite a bit to finally find a dairy free Creamer that both myself and my pouch will tolerate. I do not drink much coffee unless I am going hard with studying. I drink plenty of Water using a variety of Crystal Light flavors. I cannot wait to share my weight loss journey with you guys later! Stay tuned! Hope everyone had a great holiday season.

    I was sleeved April 16, 2018.
I was a member of Bariatastic until Facebook lost my trust in their security and privacy.
Today I decided to try BariatricPal app on my iPhone. I was shocked to be fat shamed by a support app.
    High Weight: 600 lbs
    Surgery Weight: 390
    Current Weight: 238
    Goal Weight: 225
    —————————-
I’ve been excited all day. I haven’t seen these numbers since I was 15 yrs old. That was 30 years ago.
This is news you want to share with anyone who will listen.
This is where the Fat Shaming in app started.
The app has you create an account. Then starts asking your weights. They asked for starting weight, and since I assumed they didn’t mean 8 pounds 6 ounces, I put in 600 pounds. Here comes the twist.
This bariatric app, doesn’t accept 600 pound users. Discrimination. If they don’t believe bariatric patients should weigh 600 pounds at any point. Disenfranchisement. I have to lie about my weight to use the app. Fat Shaming.
I hope the BariatricPal gets it together and accepts that Bariatric Patients lean toward obese and you should discriminate when someone needs social support.
Well this was my rant. It’s not about my diet or progress. I am 40 pounds below my team’s projected weight loss before my first year out and I was sure it was take a year and a half to two years. It sucks to go through this without peers.

Normal to be nervous...it is surgery. Just think when you wake up you won't be hungry anymore!!
That was big for me bc when I would diet I would get myself so hungry that I'd binge on whatever it was then feel bad. Now I never get hungry.
Good luck Monday!! Welcome to the club!!

Have y'all heard of CauliPower pizza? I live in Texas and they sell it in the freezer section down here (HEB). So if your wanting a pizza fix this one was pretty good. I could only eat a small slice but def gave me a pizza when having that urge. I want to send the pic of the box but it wants me to allow this website access to all my photos?!

You will do great. My favorite thing is my clothes getting so baggy.
Start weight was 238. Day of surgery was 221 and currently I'm 167. Goal is 135-140. Hell I'm just glad to be in the, as someone else put it in "1-derland". Been a long time since I had seen the 100s!

Still have mental cravings (bad habits) and weaknesses but I'm learning and trying to retrain my brain. I've had slip ups too. I just get back up and try and do better next time. Usually you can. I find that making better choices is easier when you don't have that ravenous feeling.

    You can’t “reset” your pouch.
pouch reset is a fad diet that was started by someone that wanted to sell products on the Internet. It is bogus and is not necessary. If you’re fighting regain you should go back to the basics and eat dense Protein first followed by non-starchy vegetables. Cut out simple carbs, sugar, processed food, soda, alcohol, and fast food. Your pouch/tool is fine and hasn’t stretched, you’re just eating too many slider foods that don’t let you feel restriction.
If you’re struggling with emotional or binge eating, see a therapist to work through your issues. Trying to fix this with fad dieting or that mindset won’t work long term as it never did pre-WLS and is not sustainable. It’s about healthy strategies & coping mechanisms now.
You can do this! Good luck.

I had my surgery eight years ago in January. It really is an individual thing--my stomach seems to be quite sensitive and what other sleevers could eat early on I could not. I watched a woman who had surgery a month before me consume an entire sandwich for lunch. At the time, she would have been about six months postop and me, five. I couldn't have eaten a sandwich any more than I could have flown to the moon. For one thing, bready things feel terrible in my stomach--they did then, and they do now, so no cake, doughnuts, bread, croissants, etc for me. I handle toasted or crispy things slightly better, but the amount must be small. As for what I eat in a day--I have coffee with Splenda and 2 Tbsp of half and half for Breakfast. Sometimes, but not very often, I might have one of those Oui yogurts. Lunch is a slice of cheese, 2 oz of meat, and four Triscuits. I have a mid-afternoon snack of nuts or maybe a cookie. For dinner I have a stirfry of veggies and shrimp, or a beef steak with mushrooms and tomatoes, or a Lean Cuisine dinner if I don't want to cook. I hike and ski, but I have always found it easier to lose by cutting calories than by exercise. Exercise is to keep me strong and functional. It's easy to graze all day long and the weight can easily pile back on. I added seven pounds last year purely from Starbucks and "treating" myself to dessert (Usually a piece of chocolate) after lunch and dinner. After I cut that out, the seven pounds went away and now I'm back in my comfort zone. I weigh myself once a week, and if there is a gain two weeks in a row I cut out Starbucks and sweets. I eat anything I want, but the quantities are small; a half-cup of anything is a good-sized serving for me, and I've learned that my eyes can be way bigger than my stomach, so weighing or measuring my food is a good thing. If I'm out, at a friend's house or a buffet, I take a quarter of what my mind tells me to, because a plateful of little dabs of things will probably be just right. If not, I can go back for seconds, or more salad or something. Really, for me it was about finding more interesting things to do than those related to food. I can eat so little, it's not worth my while to make elaborate recipes any more. I do bake quite a lot, which is funny because I don't eat cakes and such, but my neighbors, friends, and co-workers love me.
Don't force anything, do what works for you, be patient, be kind to yourself. We all spent years and years beating ourselves up for being fat, please don't do the same thing trying to be thin. Surgery works better for some people than others, and no one knows why. Best wishes to you.
