Hoping for fast healing for you. Let us know any updatesOn 04/01/2019 at 16:34, okayestmom said:
Update-
Getting an MRI sometime today; then the GI doctors are going to use that to determine which procedure to use tomorrow to clear the duct (all of which will be done with tube down my throat). Then depending on lab work, the surgery team will remove my gallbladder on Wed. Or Thursday at the latest.GreenTealael and FluffyChix reacted to this -
Only way to get to her cystic and common bile duct is through surgery. They can’t access them through her throat. On 04/01/2019 at 16:41, Orchids&Dragons said:
Thank heavens you are sleeved so they can access your ducts through your throat. If you have a bypass you literally "can't get there from here"

Found a bag of shelled pistachios but they aren’t chopped up but I can easily do that. Got the Light and Fit toasted coconut yogurt. Hoping they taste good together! If not they will be good eaten separately.

Thank you. Looks like the same as the strawberry one. I’m going to change up the flavor and try it!On 03/30/2019 at 11:02, Orchids&Dragons said:GreenTealael and DanaC84 reacted to this -
I’m going to pick up some tomorrow when I go grocery shopping for the week. I know I’m not likely to crush the pistachios myself so I wanted to see if I could buy them chopped. I’ll ck on that too on sunday😊On 03/30/2019 at 10:59, DanaC84 said:
I usually like them courser chopped but these were leftover from making a pesto sauce with pistachios instead of pine nuts. I LOVE the dannon light and fit! I haven’t tried the toasted coconut yet but sounds delish 😋

Yum!! Do you chop up the pistachios or can you get them crushed? On 03/22/2019 at 11:08, DanaC84 said:
I recently saw a new flavor Light and Fit yogurt. It’s called Toasted Cocunut. I need to find out the sugars on it first but I was thinking about getting g that flavor instead of my usual strawberry and adding pistachios to it!GreenTealael reacted to this -
Congrats!! That is awesome!!

I hope you’re right!! I have a terrible sweet tooth and sometimes I’ll eat a yogurt to avoid the skittles or something else sugar. On 03/29/2019 at 07:59, GreenTealael said:
It may not be that way at all in your case!
You seem to try new things while keeping it very healthy!! I love seeing what you post!FluffyChix, Orchids&Dragons and GreenTealael reacted to this -
I feel like yogurt is filling. I add raspberries and blackberries to mine too. Stays w me until lunchtime. But I’m also 7 mos post op so maybe that won’t be the case the further out I get.

I'm just curious to those with low bmi, can you do a surgery in the us with a 35 bmi no co-morbidities?

No dumping here either.

No I don’t drink any. I was not a big drinker before my surgery so it wasn’t hard not to drink any after. Plus what I liked before was a Coors Light and I don’t do any carbonation at all since my surgery. I don’t miss it. To me it’s an awesome trade off. I’ll take losing a whole human being off of me to occasionally having a alcoholic beverage.

Surgery was at 1pm. Stayed overnight and went home before noon the next day. I didn’t have any pain. Just sore. Welcome to the group!

Except sweets....still a weakness I’m working on.On 03/27/2019 at 07:18, Frustr8 said:
It feels good when Mystery meat is History, when Fast food holds no appeal, and sweets are no treat. Then the New cocepts and New Habits can work for you and you find out this works and is quite doable. And then the rest of your life becomes the best of your life. I may even invest in a t-shirt that says just that!

Bc when you get liposuction it’s not from inside your abdomen. The fat inside there has a lot of vessels. When they Lipo they are doing subcutaneous...they do not lipo inside the abdomen. On 03/27/2019 at 11:07, Orchids&Dragons said: -

BTW easy recovery. I was nauseous but I get sick from anesthesia. Little gas pain from CO2 they use to inflate your abdomen. But that clears up on its own. Recovery was a breeze!

Good Luck tomorrow!! Let us know when you can how you’re doing!!

Don’t scratch at them. Put lotion on them. It’s the healing process that’s making it itch.

What is H pylori?

60 pounds is great!!! Don’t discount that. It didn’t all come on in 8 mos so give it time to come back off. Now that you’re measuring, slowing down while eating etc maybe you will start to see more results in the scale. Meanwhile keep forging ahead. YOU CAN DO IT!😊👍🏻On 03/25/2019 at 07:09, thatch said:
HI folks, I'm a little over 8 months out from my surgery and lately I feel as if I've failed. I've only lost 36 pounds since my surgery (just over 60 pounds from my heaviest weight last year) and my surgeon is concerned. Things I'm trying:
Drinking lots more Water -- I was stuck on 60 to 64 ounces for months but now I shoot for 80
Measuring, measuring, measuring -- I was just eyeballing before and after actually MEASURING what I was eating it was eye opening to say the least 😕
Eating like I just had surgery -- tiny bites, counting my chews, putting my fork/spoon down between bites and taking a long time to eat -- I've always been a speedy eater and it's been a hard habit to break
Adding a HIIT day to my workouts -- I lift 2 days a week and walk at least 45 minutes every day -- doctor wants me to do more cardio but I HATE cardio
Tracking every damn thing I put in my mouth -- even those Trader Joe's samples
Getting at least 90 grams of Protein daily
What piece of the puzzle am I missing? Any words of wisdom from you vets? I'm trying not to compare myself to some members' AMAZING weight loss progress, but it's hard not to get down about it.
Skin??

There will be loose skin bc of how rapid the weight loss is. Start exercising and weight training as soon as you get cleared to. Also, lotion lotion lotion. Keep your skin moisturized. Other than that the rest is genetics...some people have great elasticity and others not. My skin is loose but I didn’t weight train right away...wish I did. I am now. I’m 44 as well. But ill take the loose skin over how big I got any day!!
