It has been 4yrs since my (initial) WLS.

Within that time I made great new friends, found love, had a revision, lost a parent, witnessed a pandemic from one of it’s epicenters, had plastics, had new additions to my extended family, relocated, had one child graduate from high school and more.

Almost none of these things were weight related but somehow everything else in my life seemed easier to focus on without worrying about weight.

My weight has been stable since I hit goal a few years ago with only minor fluctuations.

I’m proud to say I will always identify as a WLS patient. I thought I wouldn’t feel like one years out but I find I am consciously honoring this lifestyle in the majority of my choices.

I’m grateful we have this forum and I’m especially grateful to everyone in the WLS community that make it a positive and supportive environment to thrive in.

    🎉Congratulations!!🎉

No, it’s a variety called Delicata. It has a much thinner skin than most squash, so the skin is edible. The flavor is similar to acorn or butternut squash.

Haven’t heard of that kind. I’m in Texas so I wonder if it’s a certain kind that is only sold in your area

Alright I gave in and made pumpkin pies (I do not really like pumpkin pie but I was outvoted).

The crust is homemade (oil crust) and the filling is 100% canned pumpkin puree (not squash) with various fall spices.

Also all baked goods I make I have no idea of the cals/macros… but this was made with real sugar because it’s not for me (I made myself a tiny pie)

Parmesan crusted delicata squash. My side dish to go along with my Soup for lunches this week. Half a delicata squash, scoop out the seeds and then slice thin. Spritz with cooking spray. Top with garlic seasoning salt and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Roast at 425 for 30 minutes. Yum!

Fellow short girl problems here, too! Haha. Welcome to Shrimpsville! Casual, warm, comfy (bottoms really work like support stockings for the bad knee and leg circulation issues) for errands and house site yesterday. Love the pockets! And, of course, they are much too long... so just wrapped them into the sneaker. It's exhausting to always be going to the seamstress for alterations! And, these were on a great sale - I wanted them to remain a bargain without additional alteration costs! Look too silly???

Yeah, the lighting sucks in my room. Here is a pic with the website model wearing it. Its hard to see in the pic but all the flowers are embroidered with sparkly sequins...

Its a private party at an event venue so as of right now we would only have to wear masks when we are outside the assigned room (i.e, bathrooms or other shared spaces), so that's good. No one is allowed inside the building unless they provide proof of full vaccination anyway. Pretty excited AND anxious to be indoors with so many people for the first time in almost 2 years. But who knows...we may get a Covid turn for the worse come winter and it will get cancelled anyway. Le Sigh.

Ok...this is the last of my most recent batch of online shopping orders. I promised myself that this will be it until at least after xmas...we shall see if I am a woman of my word.

I have a relatively fancy party coming up in the January and I couldn't resist adding yet another option to my slew of options I already have to wear. Help. Me.

Yeah, lighting in my bedroom is not the greatest when its a cloudy day, lol.

Here is a pic of the dress on a model from the website. She's probably like 6 feet tall so the dress fits her better. The hemline and the sleeves and shoulder seams are way longer on me, the fit around my neck gapes a little and its quite loose at the waist where the bodice connects to the skirt. Basically its overall on the big side, but this is always an issue so I'm used to it. Ah, short girl problems.

As for the pencil skirt, yep, decided i'm keeping it and getting it taken in. I may try doing it myself...lol
