It’s good to get away from coke type drinks...esp since they hold zero value to all of us on this journey. It’s ultimately up to you and what your surgeon and team recommended but I’ve gotten away from all carbonated products about two years before I had surgery and now I’m 7 mos post op and still haven’t had any and I don’t plan to. I know it’s hard. Good luck to you

Omg!! Thank you!! I have the worst sweet tooth that did NOT go away with sleeve surgery!! (Some people say they lose their sweet tooth after-I did not unfortunately) They look so good!! Def going to try them! Hope they sell them down here in Texas!!

What did the surgeon say about what he was going to do about the twisted sleeve?
-
Oh no I didn’t mean that that was why it twisted. I was just thinking about the drinking while eating part. That was a hard hurdle for me. I’ve always drank something after every bite so when I was told I couldn’t it was difficult.

Mostly just regular stool. Sometimes a little running but that is prob bc I may have tried to drink up my coffee too fast(I put a scoop in my coffee) as it’s unflavored. They make it in a creamer now that comes in coconut and vanilla flavoring but I use the unflavored bc I can add it to anything to give me more protien. It has made a huge diff. Constipation after the sleeve was my biggest annoyance. Felt bloated, felt heavier on the scale and it just feels uncomfortable. Another friend who was sleeved told me about this and I am so thankful for it! Plus you get a serving of protein. 2 scoops are 18 grams of protein,20 grams of collagen. Hope this info helps you. It really worked for me

I was told from my surgeon to Not drink any carbonated beverages and not to drink from a straw. I don’t drink any carbonated drinks and don’t drink from a straw.
-
Are you drinking with your meals...I was told nothing to drink 30 min prior and nothing 30 min after was what I was told. I know every plan is diff depending on your surgeon but that is what I was told.

I had heartburn after my surgery and did not have it before surgery. About 3-4 mos after it was completely gone! Hope yours goes away too!

What does drinking mean?

Welcome!! Good luck next week!! Welcome to the club!

I’m not sure if you missed my post with the solution I used for this but it works. Try Vital Protien Collagen Peptide- You get your protein and it makes you go the restroom. It WORKS. I buy it st my grocery store but you can get it online too.

HEB is a popular grocery store down here in Texas. I love my HEB!! -
Taking laxatives or stool softeners long term I don’t think are good for your system and you can’t take them everyday for the rest of your life. Another person that had a sleeve done as well recommended Collagen Peptide and it has been great! Helps w hair nails protien and being regular! Hope this help someone

Vital Protiens Collagen Peptide. It’s unflavored. I put a scoop in my coffee in the morning-and voila! I get to be regular and also it has protien in it.

I haven’t ever seen coconut almond butter...does the coconut make you have to use the rr? (Which is a good thing for us sleevers ) Wonder if they have it at HEB here in Texas. I’ll look this weekend -

Yes!!! Lol -
I’ve been hovering at 154-155 now (lost 76👏🏻👏🏻)and I think it has to do w the candy I eat and not going to the gym as much as I should. I have this huge fear deep down inside of failure. Will I get to my goal by 13 mos and maintain Like everyone knows I had the sleeve and then “what if” I fail as I have so many other times with “diets”. Anyone have this fear inside of failure? I know you can’t live “what iffing” your whole life but this is suppose to be a new beginning. I just don’t want to be five years down the road and the weight start creeping back.
-
Did you have the sleeve or the bypass? I don’t have any dumping. I did the sleeve.
-
Alright I’m jumping into the challenge!! 154 day 1 challenge for me. Goal weight is 135. Goal for this challenge is 10 pounds.
-
From your lips to Gods ears. I have a terrible sweet tooth that didn’t go away. Lately I’ve indulged too much in sweets.
-
Do you add something to the powder so it’s not “powder” you’re dipping in to?
-
Is it too late to jump in on the challenge? I’m really struggling with sweets and weight has stalled I’m sure as a result.
-
I was having the same prob w not going regularly. I put some collagen powder in my coffee-magic- I get protein and I go the restroom regularly now I use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptide They sell it at my HEB in the health foods section for $26 a canister.
