    Pounds lost

Thank you and yes I do!! Always thought I’d never get to my goal until I had this surgery. I’m still a work in progress. Daily challenges and reminding myself that this is a marathon not a sprint and that keeping these new lifestyle habits

My sleeve was 7/23/18 Started at 231 now I’m 138!!! Goal is 135!!!
  3. My husband and I always split a meal. We order sides that are usually low carb-broccoli green beans-) now a days the way restaurants make plates splitting is the most sensible thing and we still have tons Of left overs.

    New Here

I’m 44 had the sleeve 10 mos ago with no complications. I didn’t have any previous stomach or abdominal surgery. Like others said..ck w your dr on the foreseeable complications for you as everyone is different. For me it was smooth recovery and I’m very happy. I’m 5 1/2 pounds from my goal!! Starting weight 231 and currently I’m 140.8. Goal is 135. Good luck to you on whatever you decide is best for you on your WL journey.
  6. Not feel like everyone is looking how much and what I order bc of my size. Love that I can control myself when eating now. Easier to make better choices and when I don’t make a good choice not binging on what ever food it is.
  7. I have to admit I haven’t went to my NUT but two times since surgery.
  8. I’ve noticed recently that I am able to eat more than I was before. I had one occasion where I ate too much and got sick in the past but other than that I have eaten small, below the size portions that I should (bc I stop as soon as I feel anything). Is this normal? I have had a huge fear since surgery of screwing this up. I know I haven’t overeaten over and over to screw it up but how is it I’m able to eat more? I am still losing. Slowly but surely. Goal Dr set was 145. My goal is 135. Started st 231 Pre op-221 Current weight-143 I am very happy with the weight loss. I just want it to stay off.
  9. So do y’all measure 1/2 cup veg and protien combined?
  10. I’m sorry they were like that to you.
  11. You called telling them you were feeling sick and they told you to see a mental health professional? That would have made me feel bad as well. Maybe you just had a big bc you’re feeling better now right?
  12. So meat and veg together keep to a 1/2 cup? Just want clarification
  13. True... I need to start measuring it out.
  14. You look amazing!! What a great accomplishment!!!
  15. Is this sold at the regular type grocery stores? Or was it a specialty store?

    Toilet visits and other niggles

I hardly peed in the beginning too bc I couldn’t get enough in. Just keep taking small sips frequently

    Vitamins!

I use women’s one a day (store brand), calcium supplements, biotin, b-12 The Biotin has helped a lot with my hair
  18. Depends on each person. I felt great and could have gone back right away except that I lift up things at my job so I took two weeks off to be safe. Recovery for me was smooth.

    Headaches

Did you drink caffeine or Diet Coke before surgery? Maybe withdrawals from that?

    Gastric sleeve and Saxenda

I agree with the others who have posted responses. Avoid carbs like pasta and bread. Use this honeymoon period of not being “hungry” to eat lean proteins. Did your surgeon or Dietician give you a plan with foods to stick with and foods to avoid after surgery?

I imagine there are vegetarian people who have weight loss surgery. I wonder if it’s harder getting all the protein you need being a vegetarian? I don’t know but if he curious to know. Meat is much heavier so I know I don’t eat the amount I need.

Brooks Ghost sneakers all the way!!! Light weight, great arch support (I do put extra added support inside bc I have low arches). Feel like your walking on a cloud.
