Anyone from Houston had breast lift and Aug and happy with results?
Kris77 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Anyone live in or around Houston area who had breast augmentation and/or breast lift done and happy with results? -
Yes I think it will be a challenge for me and I’m sure for others. But I agree with y’all....you can’t become complacent and must stay on top of fluctuations. It’s def a mind game in my head. Fear of gain.
-
@apple1-yes I think we can too! Let’s keep on keeping on! I’m 19 mos PO sleeve. 5’4 1/2 SW 238 CW 139. Window 130-140. How far PO are you?
-
@Apple1-really messes w your mind huh?! Work our hard and see the scale go up is disheartening. I’ve been back to the gym now for 3 weeks and the scale hasn’t went down. My hub says it’s bc I’m building muscle. Maybe so. When I had my sleeve I lost a lot of muscle. So maybe I’m slowly building it back. Wish looking back that I had lost slower w keeping my muscle up as oppose to losing really fast and losing a lot of muscle. Anyways working at building it back but it sure is depressing to work hard at the gym and not see the reflection on the scale (I weigh every day). Helps me be accountable and catch fluctuations like I have now. Still in my window but at the top of window.

Oops Nevermind. I read the whole post lol

Pistachio used to be my fav along w Mint chocolate chip but since my sleeve I can’t eat ice cream. I tried to a couple times and was so sick after only a couple bites. So that’s a good thing for me since my sweet tooth is crazy! Also struggling in my bounce area. It’s 130-140 and I’m currently rocking the boat at 139!!😳😱
-
That’s AWESOME!!!!

Thanks for that info!! Trying to click on the trail mix you posted. It won’t let me make it bigger. (The print is too small for me to read)
-
Thanks for that info😊👍🏻

Wow. I didn’t know. I will look for some dehydrated fruit in my grocery store. Maybe I can make my own trail mix w dehydrated fruit instead of dried.
-
Dehydrated fruit...how is that diff from dried fruit? I’m curious bc I’ve heard that dried fruit is full of sugar.
-
@ms.sss why no fruit? Don’t like them or too much natural sugar?
-
I’ve started drinking a cup of cinnamon flavored coffee in the evening to try and quench that sweet tooth snacking urge while watching tv. Love love love it
-
Well that’s the thing. I could do with out the dried fruit really but it does quench that sweet salty fix that I love (chocolate covered pretzels-ish) but if I did just the nut would those be a bad idea? I hear they are good for protien but then I also heard in another post to stay away from nuts.
-
I have been eating a Berry Nut Mix (Hit the Trail H-E-B brand) it has walnuts, almonds, raisins and dried cranberries. I figured this was a good snack to have w protien from the nuts and the dried fruit being better than candy- so not good?

Frustrated with "I know someone who gained it all back" reactions
Kris77 replied to Basham53's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes. I have had the same response from some people. I’m amazed at what some people have no problem telling others. It messes with my head as well and scares me about the potential future regain. But I have to remember we are all individuals and not every outcome will turn out that way. That being said when I hear it, that does still bother me. Keep doing you and pushing forward towards your goal. You can do it! -
You’re NOT a failure. We are all a work in progress. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and take it Day by day. You have done this before and CAN do it again

How often do others weigh themselves?
Kris77 replied to Binglebug1977's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh in every day at the same time wearing the same thing. Just underwear. This isn’t for everyone but for me keeps me on top of any fluctuations before they get too far out. I know when I eat what I’m not suppose to and see it when I do. Seeing that fluctuation makes me see that result and take care of it ASAP before one becomes ten and ten becomes twenty. -
I should add that I’m 17 mos post op. In Maintenance
-
I keep hearing from an person that had the sleeve as well that “oh once you get to three years out, it’ll get harder and you will be really hungry all the time”. I know this isn’t true for everyone. I’m determined to not have that happen but it def sticks in your head hearing that. Esp since pre surgery that was me...lose weight only to regain...repeat repeat etc. Anyone more than three years out that can share with how their journey stayed the same or how it changed after three years?

A Tale of Two Arm Lifts (rs & ms.sss)
Kris77 replied to ms.sss's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
. I think your arms before look really good! -
Yes bedside manor does matter but if I had to choose between being an excellent surgeon with no bed side or a not so good surgeon with great bedside. I’d take the excellent surgeon w no bed side. I’d prefer him/her to be both but you don’t always get that. Luckily for me I haven’t had anyone with a bad bedside. My Bariatric Surgeon Dr Khoi Du was wonderful Surgeon with a awesome bedside.

@fluffychix True story!! Had my coffee and had to use the rr. Wish I had a scale here at work to see if I lost those two pounds from turkey day!!
-
I’m curious about that too. I’m 16 mos out. Keep hearing from diff people about sleevers gaining once they hit the 3-5 year mark. That is in the back of my head. I know it’s not the case for everyone. I hit my goal and have kept it. I have a wiggle room between 130-140. I stay around 132-133. Today I was up to 135 post turkey day😬 I feel like I will maintain and be successful it just is a little devil on my shoulder of the people who say gaining is common after 3-5 years
