  1. Happy 51st Birthday Buckeye62!

  2. Happy 50th Birthday Buckeye62!

  3. Hi Everyone, I had my surgery 6-19-06. I have the Vanguard Band- my fill was 4cc, the second was 2cc. I have a total of 6cc. I had no srestriction after the first fill, after the second, I had a better restriction then it deminished. I am scheduled for another fill next week. For those of you who have hit the sweet spot- is this the way you progressed to obtaing the sweet spot. It just seems so odd that for the first week after my second fill, I was saying to myself "I've hit the sweet spot" and then I'm able to eat more but still less than I could before the previous fill. Thanks, Dwayne
  4. Hi Everyone, Did many of you have a slow or no loss during pre-fill. I had my band placed 6-19-06 lost approx 18 lbs. during the first two weeks and now, nothing. I am always hungry and have no restriction. I know that 18 lbs. lost is still good but I'm just looking for reassurance that I can lose at a steady pace after my fills begin. First fill is on 7-28-06. Thanks, Dwayne

    How may meals per day

Hi Everyone, I have been instructed to eat 6 small meals per day. I notice that the maker of the band states 3 small meals per day with no Snacks in between. Just curious as to what everyone else is doing, espically those of you who are having great success.
  6. Hi Everyone, I really need your help. I am one week post-op. I have felt really great and have had no problems. Never any nausea, PBing, sliming or discomfort. I am eating approximately 1000 calories per day and about 100 grms of Protein per day. My Dr. has had me on pureed foods since day 2. I can't say that I don't have restriction. While I don't have any pain or discomfort after meals I feel satisfied. Strangely, I don't crave the same foods that put me in this position (pizza, burgers, mass quanties of other food) but I really feel the need for small bandster size portions of chili, baked fish, stewed chicken, soft veggies (cooked to death), etc. I am not scheduled to see my Dr until 7-11-06 to get an update on my current meal plan. Am I really pushing things to want move to the next step? Should I call and ask him about this or do I simply need to "suck it up and continue untill I see him again.

    Can I have Coffee?

I remember being told to give up coffee prior to banding. I was not a big coffee drinker (once a week) so I did not really question this. I am really jonesing for a cup of coffee this morning. I'm six days post op and I,m having no problems. Is it the cafine?... the acid?...Is there any problem in having one lage cup every week or so?
  8. I was banded 6-19-06 and have not had any problems with the exception of soreness at the port site. I did expect this and i'm please that this is my only issue so far. I have been walking 5 to 7 minutes about 5 times per day since 2nd day. Thanks to all, Dwayne
  9. Hi Everyone, I have my pre-op appointment with the Dr. on 5-16-06 and am scheduled for surgery on 6-19-06. I know some of the obivious questions to ask the Dr. but based on your experience, what would you have asked you Dr. prior to surgery knowing what you know now, Thanks, Dwayne
