Wow! Great job! -
Who has had the sleeve? How did you do? Pros and cons? Would you do it again?
Brenttx replied to HMA's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I looked into all the different options and did so much research it made my head spin. Talked to different people my wife or I knew that had done different procedures and decided on the sleeve. I hadn't even heard of it when I first started doing my research but pretty quickly it became my surgery of choice and other people's stories did nothing but enforce that. I was sleeved a month ago and like everybody else, only wish I had done it sooner! The first couple of days are hard but so worth it. Good luck in whatever you choose though! -
Yesterday was my one monthiversary. I was down 26 pounds at surgery and have lost 42 in the first month since! Unbelievable! 68 total pounds and that's through the Holidays! Just had to share and hope all of my fellow December sleevers are doing great in recovery and in the beginning of their new journey.

Baritastic. Great app. It was recommended to me when I got sleeved almost a month ago. I track water, food, exercise, and weight loss. It breaks down the food for you as far as protein, carbs, and fat and you can scan in the upc codes and it has yet to recognize one for me so far. You can also say it or look it up. Highly recommend it.

Surgery in 2 1/2 hours and I am a nervous wreck 😢
Brenttx replied to MeaganMB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hope all went well! I was a nervous wreck before mine but excited as well. I will be one month post op come this Saturday. First few days are the hardest but nothing you can't handle, then like someone already said, you'll be like the rest of us saying it was the best thing you ever did! -
Good luck. Best decision you could ever make!

Holy cow, I'd heard about the feeling cold thing but I never anticipated it being this bad! It's like my wife and I have switched places. We were always battling over the thermostat in the house and car and it was because she would always sweat me out and I would freeze her out. Her and my kids think this is hilarious watching me cover up in a blanket while watching tv and whatnot. I was always sweating before and now I'm cold all the time and they are complaining of the heat if I turn it up too much. Crazy!

Just got sleeved 18 days ago. Have several goals for 2019. Kick butt at this new life and get adjusted to it. Weights and cardio several times a week. Redo my backyard (which is all rocks and will involve a great workout of removing them all and putting in grass and a firepit) and create a nice garden and grilling area that I will utilize. Go on a vacation with my wife and kids where I can actually either ride roller coasters, etc., zipline, or ride the rapids (all of which I haven't been able to do in many years, or at all in the case of ziplining).

I feel you. I'm going through the exact same thing. I've only gone out a couple of times and it felt awkward at best. At some point we'll be able to eat a little something that will take us forever and I'm counting on that being less awkward. The people I ate out with agreed to go to places I looked up and found good soup choices at for 2 of the times and the third was not and it was the uncomfortable one.

Wow! You've killed it! Congrats

I started with 1 and am now up to 1.5. I'm doing poached eggs and they work great for me. My wife bought a little thing to make them otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue. They are my go to food right now otherwise it's still broth and protein shakes for the most part.

December Sleever’s Stay strong tomorrow
Brenttx replied to Chuck Clasik's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Merry Christmas everyone! I survived our party last night and did great, although I did try a little taste of chocolate icing. I mean a tiny taste, and let me tell you, that went right through me! Fortunately I didn't get the full "dumping syndrome" since I guess I didn't eat more than that tiny bit. Anyways, Happy Holidays to everybody and stay strong! -
Ya know what's awesome????
Brenttx replied to Myhorseisfattoo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I totally agree! Best decision of my life (outside of the obligatory marriage, kids, yada, yada)! -
Quick question. I've been logging all my food intake and nutritional info manually in a small journal but would really like to switch over to a good app on my phone, one that would also include my exercise and weight journey. I know I could look this up myself but thought I'd post it on here to see what y'all use that works great for us fellow sleevers! Thanks in advance.

Wow! You are truly inspirational. Stories like yours are what I need. Thanks

That looks awesome!

Had my first post-op check up with my surgeon today. Said everything looked great and I was doing great with my fluids and protein. I am officially cleared to the next food phase! Very exciting considering I've been on clear liquids since 2 1/2 weeks prior to surgery! Tried cream of potato soup tonight (only was able to eat about a 1/2 cup at best) and then ended the day with a sugar free/fat free chocolate pudding. It was glorious!

Merry Christmas to you and everyone on here as well!

I was sweating bullets because I knew I had gained a few pounds over the Thanksgiving Holidays after my approval. Between the holiday and a couple of "Last Meals" I had put back on about 5 pounds but I had lost 20 in my 3 month weight loss period. He came in and started off by pointing out the weight gain and asked what was up. I told him and he was cool with it and said I would lose those 5 and several more after my 2 week clear liquids pre-op phase so it wasn't a huge deal to him. Btw, I not only lost those 5 but an additional 10!

Better every day. That gas pain was terrible at the hospital and for the next day but thankfully it's gone now!

Ha! Thanks.

Hey everybody! I just got sleeved on December 12th. Just found this place and am getting some good info and looking forward to hearing other people's experiences and ideas throughout this new journey.
