Protein Powders, best taste, little or no after-tsete? Suggestions, please?

I am so grateful that Muscle Milk protein powder and shakes was on my list. I can make hot chocolate out of it or throw it in the blender with ice. Mixed it in my cream of wheat. Other than that I like Premier shakes and I have the CVS brand in chocolate and vanilla. I like them best ice cold. They tend to give me a vitamin like aftertaste. Loved it before surgery not as well aft er r. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -

My RnY was not just because of my weight but because of diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea. The main catalyst being that I have a birth defect in my right tibia. Have had 8 bone transplants, 3 from my own hips. The bone is still fragile and I have worn a brace on it all my life. Now my left knee that pulled the brunt of my weight always needs replacement. I could not lose the weight neccessary so it would be safe for my right leg to even begin to handle the stress of extra weight. I have been over weight to some extent most of my life. To much time sitting to heal and do not much. I embrace this adventure whole heartedly. I can't wait till the weight starts coming off.[emoji300] [emoji301] [emoji300] [emoji301] [emoji300] Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Oh yes I love creativity. Have you seen the Campbell's Well Yes Sipping Soups? Love them. I have sugar free jello and pudding, popsicles. Broth makes me feel good and warm tea. For some reason yogurt doesn't agree with me right now anyway. Create, create, create. I use Muscle Milk protein powder. It makes good hot chocolate or with ice in the blender. I like the tast of it. Second best is Premiere Protein shakes real icy cold. That is what works best for me. My sister also got me some unflavored protein powder to add to other things. I have like a ton of water flavor packets so it makes the water more interesting. I stayed 2 days. Blood pressure and oxygen levels both really low. I have to keep an eye on both at home. Feeling good getting most all my protein and water in most days. Enjoying the nicer weather here and walking outside. Oxygen level is fine. Blood pressure depends on what day and time I guess. Congratulations and best wishes for you to keep moving forward. Well, I was a little disappointed. My weight was actually 1 pound heavier than presurgery. The doctor did point out I was retaining fluid. Pretty badly. So shifted a couple of my meds and work from there. Full liquid diet until Christmas Eve then to puree foods. Yay! I am so worried about screwing this up. Thank you for asking. I had RnY on Monday the 10th. I find I can drink certain things, most things as I am still full liquid diet quicker than a couple sips. If I do not pay attention my broth or thin soups can fill me about 2 sips too much. I am so afraid of screwing this up. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Thank you and please take care as well. I think possibly that my stomach shell is toughened from other full openings. C-section, gallbladder, and tubal. All that may have made the area tougher. Just a guess. Yesterday was a sore feeling day, like I had done too many sit ups . We are going to do much better going forward i am sure. Best wishes. I agree that everyone is different. I knew about the gas pain. Well had been told it was possible. Thought I had lucked out then Bam! It was there. I am so glad that it did not last long and wasn't any worse than it was. Ever since except feeling hungry I am doing good. One week in see the doctor today for my one week check up. In hospital they gave me a compression band. The nurse was so nice and the wrap was a dream. I still have it and though I can go without it I wear it especially when walking or extreme moving around. I will have to get the spanx suit. I know it will also help the stoma muscles. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I just had my surgery last Monday December 10th. I am 51 and I had lots of concerns and questions but never was I too old. In the scheme of things I am doing well. The first few days were the worse. The surgical gas really does a number on you. I walked and walked thankfully after 3 days I was able to start getting relief. Good luck on your own day. Remember a lot of people have similar experiences but everyone is different in some way. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Is this hunger normal? I’m VERY worried
Zebby67 replied to nursenays's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had RnY on Monday Dec 10th. I am so glad I am not alone. I am fortunate enough to be on a full liquid diet so there is enough variation to feel like I have a meal. I am so thirsty and everyone says "sip, sip, sip" Can't I just take small drinks? Feel hungry often. Cry about it. I feel like I am not getting anything about this right. I do however reach a fullness. Usually about three spoons or sips too much. I just want to get this right so I lose weight, not have to use insulin anymore, among other things. Thank you. Priemier is the brand served while in hospital. I liked them better than most. My favorite is Muscle Mill. The rest I have not done well with. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
