8. Well, I caught up on my pushups - I wanted to see if I could. Was so happy to return to the gym this morning and halfway through, I felt more like my normal self. And yes, I got sweaty. Well, as far as crafts...it's a sunny day, I think I'm more inclined to play outside than I am to play inside. But, maybe I'll pull out my knitting this evening when I'm hanging in front of the tv. Bside - Well, I'm still waiting for some changes to my blood pressure meds and I haven't taken anything for diabetes since the surgery so that's good. I'm really sure - I'm not sure what I was hoping for the WLS surgery to fix besides make my health issues go away. Of course, I was looking forward to the physical changes and hoping for an improved appearance and with that, I have a curiosity about whether or not I will start a new relationship but it's not an expectation.

7. Oh my, I woke up around 4 am with some sort of a stomach/digestive issue. I don't know if it was dumping syndrome or a bug but I feel week as a newborn kitten right now. Anyway, I had a really bad case of cold sweats and was completely drenched along with other issues. That was not my idea of a nice way to get sweaty! But for today, I'm being kind with myself and stayed home from work and the gym seems way too ambitious. However, when I do go, I do get sweaty and have come to enjoy it. I think I've given up on the pushups for this month. Bside - Eggs, most any way. However, I haven't had soft boiled eggs or runny egg yolks since the surgery. I used to sop up the yolk by dipping my toast in or it was part of Eggs Benedict. Love eggs benedict...or did anyway. Most often these days, I have fried smashed eggs...they have been the easiest to eat and no runny yolks.

6. Well, I talked with a couple of friends earlier. So that's done. I also had a good time at the gym except there's this one crazy lady who always tries to talk to me at inconvenient times. Today, she walked over as I was doing crunches. All I could do was smile at her and keep counting. Other times, she catches me in the locker room while I'm trying to change for work. She's like the waitstaff who comes and asks you how the food is right after you put a forkful in your mouth. The sun is trying to come out so maybe, I can do some garden stuff when I get home this evening. It's turning into a green jungle out there from all the rain.

5. Pushups taken care of. I came home from the training and it's raining so no gardening today. I did pull some weeds last night so hopefully that counts and there will be gardening when the weather cooperates.

Hi. Can't do an early night tonight but I usually go early these days -maybe tomorrow. Did 5 pushups though. Bside. All but the 8 tracks. I used to have a few. I think of my music as part of my personal history and still enjoy it. My books too.

3. I am going to claim that the instructor for this course is the performance as well as the demonstrations that I am watching today. Otherwise all good. Happy Friday.

Hello, I did my push-ups for the day. I also just did some doodling but I might try to work with a sketch pad when I get home...but I might just fall into bed as I have an early start tomorrow. That's a puzzle for me, I'll be at a training for the next three days and I've been trying to figure out my meals...what to pack, how to pack it, and still stay on target. I did end up touring the garden a few times last night and I did a mad dash to the gym when one of my appointments didn't show up. I was so grumpy at not getting to the gym yesterday morning! So, I'm planning on using the lunch breaks to hit the gym the next two days since we're going to have 1.5 hours free. B-side: What's not to love outside? I love swimming, kayaking, walking, and hiking. I would love to start playing tennis again or maybe try pickle ball. But one of my top favorite things to do is sit on my deck and watch nature and my pets play.

I'm in. I'm closing in on 5 months post-op. Goals are: - Keep losing. I was down about 7 lbs this past month. I hope to meet and exceed that for this month. - Keep up with my exercise routine. - Spend more time outside Ok, I did 5 modified push-ups. So, I'll continue with that as well. If it's still dry this evening, I will take the dogs for an outing so we can all get some exercise today or we can play in the yard if need be. I didn't get to go to the gym this morning because of a Dr. appointment - blegh - so I'm craving some endorphins. So, I will get some outside time and exercise one way or the other.

30. Plank and lunges completed. I have a mental goal board. Right now it has May Challenge on it. That and some personal goals regarding my career. I had also hoped that getting to Onederland by July was an option but it seems much less likely now based on my rate of loss. Still, I have lost weight this month...of course, I wish it was faster/more...but that I'm losing is still wonderful. So onwards we go!

Growing up everyone was a jogger. Then they became runners. I always thought jogging was nice and I could go longer. Anyway, I never thought I'd become a runner but jogger has always seemed like a nice idea. Maybe I'll give this a shot.

Month Follow Up...Ready To Go Back To The Gym
seaforest replied to Trellunit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was at the gym after the first week - I was hampered by not being allowed to drive for the first 7 days so I was walking my neighborhood. I stuck with the treadmill until 10 lb weight restriction was lifted. I avoid ab work for while and stuck with upper body and legs and only doing what was comfortable. Now I do as I please. Congrats on your surgery and success so far! -
28. Plank and lunges were completed. Learn something new: Well, I listened to Brene Brown's Call to Courage on Netflix so now I think I know who she is. I am about to start a seminar/workshop on Friday that will take place over several months and I hope to learn a lot from that. 29. Crunches and squats done. Been to the gym. I'm at work. I don't think I can check off the "do nothing" other than to say I'm not doing anything out of what constitutes my current normal. Now I'm laughing at myself.

27. Crunches and squats completed for today. Had a nice time at the gym. Hmmm, not sure what my dream vacation is today. I love to travel and learn new things. I especially love swimming in the sea. Other times a staycation is what I want.
-
I eat out with my friends regularly. I choose what will best fit my eating plan. I never eat all of it at the time. If I like it, I will bring the leftovers home and eat them over the next day or two. So, you may continue with date night . Check with your Dr. but alcohol is not recommended for about the first year and you won't be able to drink during meals anyway. That and you might not want the empty calories.
-
I think they may just be playing it on the safe side so that the goal is attainable. What will actually happen is up to you. If you lose more than they ask for, the more you and they will be able to celebrate your success.

26. Plank and lunges completed. 5 Happy Things 1. My fur babies 2. The ocean 3. Watching things grow 4. My loved ones 5. Music and dancing
-
Yes please. I enjoy the checking in part.

25. Happy Sunny Day! Squats, crunches, and stretches completed as well as the daily trip to the gym. Looks like a beautiful day outside. Enjoy!
-
24. Ok, just finished my plank and lunges for today. There are so many ways to be creative. Right now, I'm on day 2 of an intermittent fasting trial so I've been having to be creative about getting all my protein in in a shorter amount of time. Also, I'm being creative as I consider ways to get more exercise in today - shall I garden, do a Body Groove session, or what later today? Or maybe I'll take a walk during my lunch break. All because my fitbit didn't acknowledge how much time I exercised at the gym this morning. Silliness I know but there it is.
-
23. I actually have a plan to call a friend this evening which I think will be way better than texting. So much quicker and easier! Well, maybe not quicker depending on how long we chat for... lol. Rest day on the glutes and abs! Yay! Still, did go to the gym this morning and got my cardio and some upper body work done.
-
22. My five year plan is part of my 10 year plan. So, of course, weight loss and gain good health. Launch my private practice. Get a new puppy. Travel, visit with loved ones. have fun. Also got my squats and crunches done. B-Side: No I don't usually take pictures of my food. I did once of an arugula salad because it looked so pretty but that's been it that I can recall. My sister, the erstwhile chef, does all the time and records herself cooking.

Oh @thatch, sorry I didn't see this before. It's basic really. I used 1 tbsp of avocado oil, 1/2 lemon for juice, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. I love lemon so my dressings have pucker power. I just put the ingredients directly on the salad and toss
-
21. Well, I like to think I make something healthy every day but today's candidate is a nice salad with lemon and avocado oil dressing made by hand. Plank and lunges have been completed. Oh, and on the phone thing, I broke so that I could enter stuff in my food log. I tried on my kindle but it was being too ornery. Happy Easter, Eostre, or whatever you might be celebrating today.
-
20. Love the phone off challenge. I ended up playing fetch with the dogs in the yard last evening but no proper walk outside. B-side. I am off to the gym soon where I will take care of the crunches and squats for today in addition to my daily cardio and weights. After that, I plan to go to my local nursery to get ideas for the garden and I will likely bring something home that will require me to play in the dirt. Tomorrow...the weather will play a role in my choices but I do need to tend to my chores at some point. Oh, and yes, I went out to dinner with friends last night.

Need encouragement from slow losers
seaforest replied to Briswife15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 57 and had my surgery back in December, I am also a "slow" loser but every little bit counts. I just keep reminding myself to stick to the plan and the scale does keep moving in the right direction even if it tortures me at times. And this slow losing is better than not losing or going the other way. PS. When I'm feeling frustrated with the scale, I try the measuring tape and am excited that I've lost more than 7 inches off of my waist - I haven't measured anything else - but that helps me keep going.
