When can I chug my water down my throat!!?? Help lol
GradyCat replied to PauleeB's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You don't need to be "chugging" your water. Just keep sipping, sipping, sipping all day long. If you've got a dry throat, suck on some sugar-free mints. Suck on some sugar-free popsicles. -
Pre Operative Chaos and Confusion
GradyCat replied to sleeved.brc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't understand why you're still having pre-op appointments if your surgery isn't scheduled and you were pre-approved 8 months ago. My process was 3-4 months start to finish. -
It's more than likely head hunger and not true physical hunger. This is where you have to learn to not turn to food in the case of cravings, boredom, pain, or stress. It's tough, but we've all got to learn how to do it. Good luck on your WLS journey.

I used to get that. Really bad. Never thought of it the way you described it but yes, it's a sort of food coma. Come to think of it, I'm still getting it, but not as hard as before, like a crash, more of a wave. I nap every day after lunch. Like you said, even if I eat something healthy.

What's a ring fit? Like a ring doorbell? Video fitness?

My nutrition team and surgeon said the same thing. DON'T COUNT CALORIES AND STAY OFF THE SCALE.

Welcome to the bariatric community. Feel free to browse around the forums and threads and you'll find lots of helpful information and advice. Your current situation is very specific. Be sure to ask lots of questions. I had the sleeve and I have regular daily healthy bowel movements.

Sounds pretty normal for just a week post-op. Remember, they had a tube down your throat during surgery. You're still healing. Eat slowly, allowing less air to formulate. Sip, sip, sip your water all day long.

Sleeping on incisions
GradyCat replied to shriner37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't remember the incision sites ever bothering me. I sleep on my side. -
Hmmm, I don't remember feeling that well. When I feel "foggy" in the mornings now it's just because I'm old. LOL! 😀

I take chocolate flavored Vitamin D.

It's only been 4 days. Give it a chance. It takes time. It's not a miracle surgery where all the fat disappears overnight magically and there's no pain or weakness. Your body needs time to heal. It's been through a major trauma.

What's different that you are eating or drinking in the morning from what you are eating or drinking at night? I'd say have the same thing you had for breakfast again for dinner since it seems to be staying down.

Like everybody else said, a year is usually the benchmark and as you as closer to goal.

I was taking the GNC soft chews but just got some here from this site, I think they're called "Celebrity" maybe and they're pretty good. I don't like the idea of taking so many pills, so I like the soft chews, plus they're like having a treat.

Sounds like you've got a lot of good soft/pureed vegetarian ideas there. Congratulations on your WLS and good luck on your journey.

Another Tummy Tuck Experience
GradyCat replied to Toesinthewater's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks for sharing a photo so I could understand what a Tummy Tuck is and how the scar goes. -
Post op confidence
GradyCat replied to kristieshannon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's good that it's given you more self-confidence and ability to do more things independently. -
Anyone remember the chat room? does it still exist?
GradyCat replied to Tink22-sleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've only been on here 3 years. I never remember there being a "chat" feature. -
My guess would be hormone issues post-WLS.

I stuck with protein shakes for breakfast and still do them. They're easy and tasty. You could do some middle-of-the-road foods like tuna salad, cottage cheese, maybe some beef stew. Do you like to cook? I'm more of a ready-made kind of girl.

It's nearly impossible to stretch your stomach out according to my surgeon. Do don't worry about that. Don't drink with meals and watch your portion sizes and you'll be fine.
