I'm glad your husband listened. I've never seen that show. My hubby has been super supportive.

Why Do We Still Use Food To Socialize??
GradyCat replied to Danny Paul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good point. It's always "let's meet for lunch to catch up." Gotta think of other meeting options -
Really? I wish my nutritionist had told me that! I've been stalled for two months eating 600-800 calories. Maybe I'm not eating enough.

Big Belly One Day Post Op
GradyCat replied to LisaCh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's normal. You were pumped with air and fluids and just had major surgery. Don't sweat it. -
Can totally relate to this. I've only lost 5 pounds in 2.5 months. Stalled, stalled, stalled despite eating the right number of calories, exercising, drinking water. It just happens. And then the scale will move a pound or two. I'm confident that I'll pick up losing again and my body is just adjusting. Hang in there.

It's only natural to be a little anxious because it's a major surgery. But look at all the people here on this forum who survived it and had no complications. You can do it!

I use Bio-Oil and at six months post-op my scars are very faded
-
You'll be kinda tired for two weeks, but it's not terrible. The nausea only lasted one day post-op for me and I was okay by the time I got home from the hospital. I never had any pain. You'll need to sip, sip, sip on liquids and stay hydrated.

It happens to me when I eat steak, my stomach can only handle one bite of it.

I had a couple of bad choice days earlier this week, but it turned out being a good thing because I had just had dental work done and a temporary crown put in and the sugar from the chocolate I ate hurt my tooth like hell, so I have no desire for chocolate now

GradyCat replied to PatchofHeaven's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They probably have a chicken tortilla soup you can eat. -
You're right on track.

Finally got my surgery date... when did you cut things out?
GradyCat replied to MeowAMR's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started a month or six weeks before the surgery to start eating like I would be after surgery and I had cut out soft drinks, sugar, pasta, carbs, etc. No food funerals. -
How long until you could sleep on your stomach?
GradyCat replied to shellyk018's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on my stomach as soon as I got out of the hospital without any problems -
Truly accurate nutritional tracking app?
GradyCat replied to ShekinahST's topic in Food and Nutrition
I use MyFitnessPal -
I haven't tried salad yet for fear my stomach isn't ready for it. I had a soft tortilla yesterday and almost got "the foamies" as my stomach still can't handle it.
-
Sip, sip, sip. Don't gulp or drink like you used to.
-
I can take a sip or two, but it definitely feels different post-op and I couldn't drink a whole diet soda now and don't crave or want carbonated drinks anymore.
-
Hopefully you'll remember how it felt and not do it again
-
Yes, perfectly normal. It'll go away in a couple of weeks. I'm six months post-op now and you can barely see the incision scars anymore
-
I'm learning that I don't HAVE to eat it just because it's there.

How much calcium citrate does everyone take?
GradyCat replied to shellyk018's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take two soft chews per day, 500 mg each/total 1,000 mg /day -
I am taking biotin gummies for hair and nails and also using both Nioxin shampoo/conditioner and Minoxidil for hair regrowth.

It's not going to kill you to miss a dose here and there, but try to set a timer on your phone for weekends or lay them out on the bathroom counter or something if you can.

Yes, I think so too. My dentist evidently had a garlic or onion bagel the other day for breakfast and while he was working on me I thought I was going to die.
