  1. Oh, Dr. Tanner is in the same office. My surgeon was Dr. Sweeney.

    inches instead of pounds?

So true, we need these Non-Scale Victories (NSV) and ways to measure our progress other than the scale.

    Water bottle recommendations

I use Tervis. They come with or without straws. Hing lids or screw lids.

    4 year Sleeve Anniversary

    Woot-Woot! Way to go!

    Hello!

Congrats and best wishes on you WLS journey. Ask us anything. We're here to support each other.
  6. I never did the puree stage, just went from liquids to easy to digest foods, I guess soft foods. Be careful with the beans and gas (carbs). Otherwise, enjoy food once again!

    7 days post-op.

Congrats on your WLS journey and take good care of yourself through the holidays. This will be the best decision you could have made for your health.

    Hungry

Have you tried sugar-free popsicles? They come in a variety of flavors and give you a "crunch" instead of just plain liquid. It really is head hunger. And you're thinking about missing Christmas foods, celebrations, etc. It's natural. But this too shall pass. Sugar-free jello counts as "liquid" as does sugar-free pudding.

    My Before and After

    Way to go! Congrats!
  10. Having Depression and Anxiety too, I know what it's like to throw your life a curveball and all of the anxiety. Hang in there. Your body is releasing hormones from the surgery. Keep taking your antidepressants.

    Before pics

Good luck on your WLS Journey. Try some sugar-free popsicles too, they will help you add a variety of flavors and also give you something to crunch on
  12. My friend has gastric bypass and his teeth are awful now (they weren't before surgery) but I haven't asked him about it

    Walk

That's GREAT! Keep up the good work.
  14. 2) For those that have done a gastric sleeve, how long was it before you could lift weights again? At least 60 days to allow time for the incisions to heal. 3) This one is a little more out there, but has anyone that has had this surgery (or others) been allergic to the anesthesia medicine? I am allergic to EVERYTHING but thankfully not any of the anesthesia yet, but yes, you are correct that the hospital with the anesthesiologist would be the best place to be if you're going to have a reaction.
  15. Try flavored water (Crystal Light, etc) or some Gatorade to stay hydrated.
  16. Could it be GERD? That gives shoulder/chest pain too.
  17. Everyone worries before the surgery. Is it going to work? Am I going to die? Normal worries. Get some sugar free popsicles to help you through the liquid diet. They provide something to crunch on instead of just liquid.

    Day 1 pre op

You're getting sugar withdrawals probably. Hang in there. You can do it!

    Pre-op liquid diet is Bullsh*t!!!

sugar-free popsicles will give you the crunch you need and still be liquid.
  20. Could you inject it into your thigh instead? Tighter skin there?
  21. Yes, that's too few calories. Aim for 500-800 day and be sure to get your 60-70g of protein in
  22. What about ham and cheese or eggs or something other than protein shakes to add some protein to your daily count?

    NSV: Mini shopping spree

    That is FANTASTIC!
  24. You're not eating enough. Trust me, it's true. Plus you've probably encountered a stall, which might take a couple of weeks to get over and you'll always have fluctuating water levels, so don't sweat the 2 lbs and keep following the program. Eat some more!

    Hard time adjusting

It's not time for hard foods yet, so I wouldn't try the pickle. Do you want the crunch or could you just drink some of the juice? It honestly never bothered me when my husband ate food and I couldn't have any. I thought the smell would bother me, but it didn't. I just did what I had to do.
