Oh I'm so sorry. Nausea is the WORST! I wish I had a suggestion for you, but I don't. Hang in there.

Setting a goal weight?
GradyCat replied to Sleeved_in_MN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgical team let me pick a realistic one, but theirs was about 20 lbs higher than mine in terms of their expectations. -
I get the soft chews of all of these at GNC.

I didn't have to do a liquid pre-op diet, just a reduced calorie one, but I had to do 3 weeks liquid only post-op. I just sucked it up and did it, although I realize it would be easier post-op than pre-op. Good luck. You've got this, you can do it!

Can you have pasta after surgery?
GradyCat replied to Circus321's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 2 years post-op sleeve and have a couple of bites of pasta on rare occasions, but my stomach doesn't like it anymore. It tells me I have to stop at just a couple of bites. -
How are you doing with the protein? Water counts in the form of sugar-free jello, sugar-free popsicles, gatorade zero, water with crystal light or other sugar-free flavoring in it, decaf coffee, etc. Try creative ways to get it in. Hot tea.

Yeah, you're gonna be more sensitive to smells for a while I think.

I've never heard of the linx system before, but how great would it be to get off of all that medicine?

Are we twins or what???? Same here. Gained 10-12 pounds. Every single one of those pounds is chocolate/sugar. Still eating small amounts of food. Just addicted to sugar! I want to kick myself in the butt.

Balancing Weight Loss With Working Out
GradyCat replied to K Be Good!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't freak out. Your body needs time to adjust to your new routine and your muscles soaked up the water. Keep up the good work! -
Should be any day now. It generally takes two weeks (10 business days).
-
Sounds like you're doing great. You'll be fine when you get home.

Those on required liquid diet
GradyCat replied to davis29's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On my liquid diet I did Gatorade Zero, water, Crystal Light, Chocolate protein drinks, sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free jello and soup broth. -
Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY hits a stall either during Week 3 or Week 4. It's perfectly normal. Your body is healing and adjusting. Just ride it through. Stick with the program.
-
You are probably still on soft foods at this point. Think cottage cheese, tuna, cheese, SF pudding, SF popsicles, oatmeal, and soups. Make sure you're getting enough protein in.

Welcome Fredricka, Browse around the forum threads and you'll see advice and info about anything and everything and yes I've seen plenty of people here talk about UHC, so search on that keyword and you might find something useful. Good luck on your WLS journey.

Post- Surgery Self Care
GradyCat replied to KelBel3040's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're really thinking ahead. I stocked the house with plenty of water, crystal light, gatorade, sugar-free popsicles and things I knew I could have and would make me happy. I slept a lot/rested a lot the first few days. Take this time off to apply some nice scented lotions. -
Can I eat raw fruits?
GradyCat replied to JoriJori's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once you're allowed past liquids and soft foods, all options are on the table. -
3 months post bypass having heart burn
GradyCat replied to shawttyy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmmm, it would be worth a phone call to your surgeon's office just to check it out. -
It took me about 2 weeks for insurance approval. My BMI was 40 I think with GERD and Sleep Apnea as comorbidities

Getting Sleeved 1/23/2021. Any twins
GradyCat replied to Walker31's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh look at you, you're beautiful! Congrats on your scheduled surgery date, which just happens to be my birthday (1/23). Good luck on your WLS journey. -
You have to sip, sip, sip all day long. Gatorade Zero. Water. Flavored Water (Crystal Light, etc.), Soup broth, sugar-free popsicles all count as water to keep you hydrated. Very important.
