    ONEderland!

That's ONEderful! Congrats! I can't wait until I get there too! I'm just 5 weeks post-op, so it's going to be a little while, 17 or so more pounds to go.
  2. I'm experiencing the same thing and my dietitian told me to just be patient and stalls are natural, but I didn't expect a stall this early into the game. I'm wrapping up 5 weeks post-op on Monday and haven't lost anything during Weeks 4 and 5 although I have lost 16 pounds and 15 inches in the first three weeks. I'm just trusting the process. I'm eating about 800 calories/day too and wondered if I needed to ramp it up a little and my dietitian said 900 calories max at this point.

    Minimal bowel movements after surgery

I have had regular bowel movements daily since surgery, so I'm guessing that just each person is different and it'll change as you start to add food and more volume.
  4. Yeah, it'll pass and it all starts tasting good again, but you just can't eat very much at a time.

    H. Pylori Question

I tested negative for it, so I was able to get ahead with the surgery as scheduled. So sorry you had this and have a delay, but it's a good thing they tested you for it because you wouldn't want to have gone into surgery with an infection.

    4 days post op

While you're still on the liquid phase it'll be protein shakes. Once you get to soft foods it'll be eggs, flaky fish, cottage cheese and other things.
  7. I had gastric sleeve surgery on 12/11/18 and YES I feel clenching and get gurgling when I eat and drink. I'm assuming I'm eating too fast and getting too much air in.

    Bone loss?

I hadn't heard this, but I Googled it and found this 2014 study about it: Bone loss persists two years after weight loss surgery Date: June 23, 2014 Source: Endocrine Society Summary: For at least two years after bariatric surgery, patients continue to lose bone, even after their weight stabilizes, research shows. Gastric bypass is the most common type of weight loss surgery. "The long-term consequences of this substantial bone loss are unclear, but it might put them at increased risk of fracture, or breaking a bone," said the study's principal investigator.https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/06/140623141728.htm I'll just keep taking my Calcium soft chew and not worry about it.

    Awkward at Work

I haven't told anyone and don't plan to. When my brother or friends see me in a few months and I've lost weight I'll just chalk it up to dieting.

    I have a lap

    That's exciting, isn't it? A great non-scale victory! Congrats! 🏆

    Liquid amounts question ?

I think we're still supposed to sip our liquids an not gulp them but the only real instructions I was given was to get 60 g of protein in each day and 64 oz of liquids and not use a straw. Oh, and don't drink with meals.

    HUNGRY!

It gets better. I got tired of drinking, so I did a lot of sugar-free popsicles for my liquids and I was allowed to eat sugar-free jello and sugar-free pudding during my liquid phase. Just 5 more days until you get on soft foods, you can do this! 😊

    Hunger Pains

No, I just 5.5 weeks post-op and while hungry every 3 hours, it hasn't been "pain" or extreme hunger. I can only eat 2 oz at a time, just more frequently. But sometimes it's "head hunger" and not really "stomach hunger"

    Eating question

Your body will adjust. I'm 5.5 weeks post-op and have been working out at the gym again since Week 3 and having no problems with energy or anything eating between 600-850 calories/day

    Transition to soft foods

Sugar-free jello, sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free pudding, cottage cheese, chicken noodle soup

    Long Plane Flights

I'm getting ready for my first travel in a few weeks, which will be about 8 weeks post-op and I plan on taking protein bars, almonds, and protein powder to mix with water wherever I go

    6 months, 100 lbs

Oh wow, that's such an inspiration for me to hang in there through the stalls. CONGRATS!

    And Goal Has Been Hit!

Good job! Way to Go! You Look GREAT! 🏆

7 weeks post op and not hungry

No, I'm 5 weeks post-op and hungry every 3 hours or so and eat something very small, 1-2 oz, every 3 hours or so.
  20. My surgeon just had me restricted to 1500 calories/day for two weeks pre-op in order to shrink liver. I didn't do liquids only.

    A few NSVs

That's wonderful! My non-scale victories include necklaces that fit better, jeans in a smaller size, and feeling more confident.
  22. No, I'm keeping it a secret from family and friends. Only my husband knows.
  23. I bought chicken noodle soup and blended it in a blender, flavored sugar-free jello, flavored sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free pudding, applesauce, cottage cheese, GZero Gatorade, diet peach iced tea, diet green tea.
  24. That's good advice. I think I've done it twice already just in my 2 weeks since being on real foods at 5 weeks post-op and it was like I got too much air in my stomach and I ended up feeling yucky and full and spit up some foam because I ate too fast. Now I'm trying to be more careful and eat more slowly.
  25. Good for you, keep walking and sipping and you'll be out of there tomorrow.
