I've had pretty good energy, but then again I'm retired and don't have do do physical labor for 10 hours like you do. I've been going to the gym. I'm eating nearly 100% protein as I'm full after I eat the protein part of my plate and never get into the grains/carbs/veggies/fruits. And I'm taking all of the chewable vitamins. Good luck! -
One n half days till surgery and.. I failed :(
GradyCat replied to Anneloosing's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck. From my understanding, if you're liver is too big when you get in there, they'll still do the surgery except it'll be an open surgery instead of laparoscopic. But maybe you didn't do as bad as you thought? Good luck! -
I had bad acid reflux for the first month after surgery but it's gone away now

Look at it this way . . . you've lost 115 pounds in four months!!!!!! Your body needs a rest from constant losing and will catch up after a little break.

Take it off! Take it off! Take it aaaaallll off!

May I ask, as I have no frame of reference, how much something like that costs? -
I never knew there was any coffee restriction. I drink decaf, but not at home everyday, really just on vacation the past two weeks. No problems.

I was tempted to do too much too fast, but I listened to my surgeon. I did cardio right away, as much as I could tolerate, mostly treadmill and walking, some recumbent bike. I wasn't allowed to lift anything heavier than 10 pounds until after my post-op appointment three weeks post surgery, and even then they told me to go slow with lifting or using resistance equipment at the gym. Now at 90-days post-op I can do anything I want.

Wow, you're a success story. Congrats! 🏆 Hoping to join you there in a few more months.

I remember seeing this before but couldn't remember it. Thanks for posting!

Nope, mine doesn't cover vitamins.

I worried that I wasn't losing as quickly as I should in the first few months because everyone seems to have their biggest losses in the first 3-6 months and now suddenly it's starting to fall off. I guess something just triggers it or you hit that sweet spot of just the right amount of calories and exercise. Apparently my sweet spot is around 600 calories. But you're healthier now, right? That's a blessing!

Can we talk about food aversion
GradyCat replied to newmebithebypass's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Same here at 3 months out. Food just doesn't to it for me, which is a blessing to keep me from eating it. I don't have the Gherelin hunger trigger anymore and I'm still working on emotional or boredom eating, but even it's barely there now, so food just isn't a big deal. -
I'm guessing it was the sodium in the pickles. They're notorious for high sodium, which makes you retain water
-
Same here, soft tortillas do not agree with me yet at 3 months post-op
-
Why would you want to cut it short and not do the full time in preparation?

Preparing Your House
GradyCat replied to NotActive1234's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cleaned my whole house and had all laundry caught-up before surgery so that I wouldn't have to worry about anything for a couple of weeks afterward. I stocked up on bottled sugar-free iced tea, sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free pudding, and protein shakes. -
There were certain foods, still are, that give me the "foamies" of throwing up mucus but no food and those are just because I can't tolerate them yet. They include dense meats like steak and roast beef and breads. Otherwise I do okay with most foods.

I don't think I lost a lot in the two week pre-op diet. I don't remember anything significant.

Heating Pad on Incisions?
GradyCat replied to EspeciallyKK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do they hurt? Why a heating pad? Wouldn't an ice pack make more sense? Mine didn't bother me. I'm using Bio-Oil on them to make the scars fade away. -
Renewing US passport ahead of schedule?
GradyCat replied to AEdoesRnY's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've been wondering about this, still down the road some for me as I'm just 3 months post-op, but I know I'll look dramatically different than my current license and passport photos -
I agree. I see my surgeon 4/2 for my 3-month post-op visit and am going to ask at what point I can switch to pills instead of chewables

I'm so excited! I'm about 12 weeks post-op gastric sleeve and I was worried about my pre-planned two week cruise and how I would manage to eat and stay on the right track. I was so good! I didn't eat a single dessert or pasta or pizza. I had a cheese omelette every morning for breakfast, salmon for dinner every night and various things for lunch but all making good choices. I just got back late last night and weighed this morning and I lost 2.5 pounds during my two-week cruise! Hooray! I exercised in the pool every morning and did lots of walking and stayed hydrated. I'm just so excited that I made good choices around all that ton of food on the cruise ship and still ended up losing weight! Hooray! Yippee! Here's a photo of me from the cruise - I've lost 25 pounds since surgery 12/11/18.

Me and the husband advice please
GradyCat replied to newmebithebypass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hubby and I have learned that I can only eat 2-4 oz, so we fix one meal and share it and so my eating plan is benefiting him as well. We do the same when we eat out at restaurants, order one thing and share it. -
Good thing you're shopping around.

I'm so sorry that you feel things didn't work out for you. I've been really lightheaded, nearly fainting recently and hadn't put two and two together about it being related to my surgery/weight loss/blood pressure.
