I'm keeping it a secret too. That's pretty bold for someone to straight out ask you if you've had weight loss surgery instead of just assuming you've been dieting and exercising and getting healthy. People are rude.

Recent Surgery Diet Struggle
GradyCat replied to Megndanielle820's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you eating things that are sugar-free? Are you taking any meds that would cause it? I didn't have that. -
That's a good observation. I need to increase my fluid intake. I have the habit of letting it slide, even though I'm getting in enough protein.
-
It doesn't have to happen really fast or overnight; it'll happen through time. Congrats!
-
I feel full really easily, so I'm still getting 600-800 calories a day with protein shakes and some cheese and deli ham.
-
You gotta still be careful with meat, so you might want to run it through the blender.
-
They want to figure out if you will be successful after surgery, have a support system to support your decision, and if you use food emotionally to fill a void.
-
I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I have very little knowledge of lap bands, so I didn't realized they stayed in so long. Sorry about your leak and I hope you get everything resolved.

That's good news. Good luck on your 4/3/19 surgery. -
Kids' rate at Fogo de Chao
GradyCat replied to abefroman329's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I never heard of such a thing, a card given by the surgeon, and you're right the kids' menu isn't always healthy. My husband and I do what you do, order one entree and I'll eat 1/4 and he'll eat the rest. Eating out is hard. -
I already have fine and thin hair, so I can't afford to lose any. I'm three months post-op for sleeve and haven't noticed any loss yet. Keeping fingers crossed.
-
If you're talking about the pre-op diet, it's the two weeks before your surgery date. I didn't have to do a liquid diet pre-op, just restricted to 1500 calories per day. Then of course post-op you do two weeks liquid diet right after surgery as well.

Oh wow, GOOD JOB! Way to go! Thanks for sharing.

83 lbs lost is GREAT! Congrats! Don't beat yourself up, that's a good number!

Yes, unfortunately it's pretty common. Your body's still healing. It's not sure what do do right now. It'll start moving again soon, really it will. I got so frustrated and worried that I'd made a mistake in having the surgery, but it started moving again and keeps moving, slowly but surely, about a pound a week.
-
That's probably it, lifting the puppy, because you're not supposed to lift anything more than 10 pounds for about six weeks.

Post up semi solid food
GradyCat replied to Britgirl44's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
600 calories is about the right amount, range of 600-800. Everybody hits a stall when transitioning from liquid to soft to semi-solid foods. It's normal. Don't sweat it. -
So sorry you're not feeling well. Hang in there and be sure to tell the doctor every little thing.

Sickness and stalling
GradyCat replied to ummyasmin's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes, me too. I've had a cold for 12 days now, not going to the gym, taking cold medicine and the scale isn't moving. -
Frothy/Foam vomit or spit up
GradyCat replied to Seb Palmer's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine only come when I eat something I can't tolerate yet like steak, soft tortillas, and so forth. Sorry you're getting them with everything. -
Congrats!
-
Oh gosh, so sorry to hear this. Try to hang in there and stick with the program so you can have your weight loss surgery in June.

Hello! Just a Quick Introduction

Almost 4 days post op
GradyCat replied to angie_is_losing_it's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry you're having some troubles so soon after surgery. Hang in there, it gets better. Slow is better than nothing. -
My husband was extremely supportive and understands that I can only eat certain things and in small portions. When we eat out we choose an entree to share because he knows I can't eat all of anything. He's not really trying to eat better himself, yet, but he's not trying to sabotage me.
