  1. The nutritionist at my doctor's office is not particularly helpful. I was hoping that someone could give me some guidance as to how many ounces of food I should be eating at one time if I am four months out from a gastric sleeve? Does this amount change later on? If so, when? Thanks so much for any guidance!
  2. Another really stupid question -- what is the difference between measuring the food by volume and weight?
  3. So, FluffyChix mentioned being able to fit in more salad. Should I assume that I should keep my total meal volume to one cup, even if I could fit in more healthy foods like a salad? Is this a permanent goal, or will it increase at six months, one year, etc.?
  4. I've have my first appointment with the bariatric surgeon next week, but am becoming worried that my insurance, United Healthcare, may not cover the operation. I was told by them on the phone that hyptertension counted as a comorbidity. However, after reading the lengthy policy statement, it seems to indicate that insurance is only covered if your high blood pressure is not well controlled by medication. Also, I'm at the low end of the BMI requirements. If I diet for six months, as required for the insurance, I risk falling below the required 35 BMI. This all seems counterintuitive. Has anyone had experience with these situations?
