Protein Powders, best taste, little or no after-tsete? Suggestions, please?
Anjo replied to Schnauzer3's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I really like Isopure's powder protien drink. I prefer the texture and taste over the heavier vanilla and chocolate protien. It's way cheaper than by the bottle and being an isolate your body breaks is down easier. I like the fruit punch and citrus flavors - a bit sour tasting at first. -
Anyone scheduled for December yet?
Anjo replied to kx2ax5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just found out today that my surgery is scheduled for December 27th. I start the pre-op high protein diet on the 13th. Exciting and a bit scary all at once. Exciting for all the possibilities and scary because I want to succeed and not become a negative statistic. I know two people who were not successful and want to learn from their mistakes. Cognitively I know I have the capability to rock this however emotionally I am a bit shakier. -
RNY gastric bypass scheduled for December 17th
Anjo replied to Ed_NW's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Congratulations! Wonderous, life changing news I found out today that I have my surgery on December 27th. My surgeon requires 2 weeks of a high protein diet and 2 days on liquid. -
There are minerals like magnesium oxide that are used as preventatives. I have also found that essential oils diffused like lavender will help decrease the severity and/or frankincense rubbed on the temples, forehead, and neck help as well. As others have stated I also use ice on my neck and head. There are a variety of meds used to prevent and just as many to control the pain. My acute migraine pain reliever has caffeine and a narcotic and there is a Sprix spray that has been effective in keeping me out of the hospital. Unfortunately, even with all of this I finally succumbed to Botox injections in my head and neck. I finally have fewer debilitating migraines and they are not as prolonged. Find an awesome neurologist to help you get the right combination of meds. I heard that losing weight can decrease migraines so I am excited about that as a side benefit!
