Wow You need motivation??? 120 pounds off.... GRATZ!!! 3 pounds in the light of 120 is nothing.... I only hope in 17 more months I can come even close to where you have gotten yourself... I should be asking you for motivation!!! I am still waiting on my first fill and have stalled for the last week and am considering putting myself back on the atkins shakes for a day or two b4 my fill so I can get jumpstarted... worked great on the pre-op diet:tt2:
-
My doc wanted me to use Atkins shakes because they are a more complete meal replacement... I drank 5 a day and BOY did it kick in the weight loss... Actually thinking of going back on them a couple of days b4 my fill to get a week in on them to re.. start my loss  cheater I know but better then cheating the other way with a donut Kim

:confused2:Hey guyz I am hoping maybe one of you can answer a question for me... I have been using the nike+ for a while now and just now got back into trying to get my "jogging" back in since surgery... today I did my usual walk which is 3.4 miles in 1 hour... I usually have shin pain so I walked the first 1.7 miles to make sure I was WARMED up and then I jogged 60 seconds at every quater mile marker and continued my "brisk walk" until the mext marker... I did 29.5 minutes down and ended with 57 minutes flat... so I know I cut time off and my brisk walk was showing about right... (16.58 minute/mile) what I noticed was that while I was jogging my pace on my ipod was showing slower??? (21 minute/mile) I cut 2.5 minutes off of my time on the way back and the distance I expected to be off because of the difference in the stride... (showed 3.2 miles instead of 3.4 miles) Is it because my ipod is set to my stride for walking maybe??? and if I continue with this routine will my numbers be off every walk/run until I can reset for running??? I have tried the couch to 5K and the same music gets to me so I set my timer for 60 second to start out and am trying to do it this way to have my music to "run" to.... any thoughts of suggestions would be great... thanx, Kim
-
it's dead on for walking... our park has a mile post every quarter mile so it's easy to keep track of... just when I start running... it will go blank and then say it's way slower then it should be... all I can think of is the stride is so different...

I keep trying not to eat to much at a time (even though I know i could) and am just adding in "snacks" even though doc wants only 3 meals a day I figure a snack is better then overeating and risking slippage of stretching... and its usually something like a fat free string cheese and calories are still hovering around 1000 a day so yeah ... 8 more days... btw I am at work and bored cause the kids are watching a movie but one decided to act up last nite and has to be restricted to his room all day so I have to be in the front administrative part of the building to monitor him so I'm by my self up front and there is a locker FULL of snack food calling out to me and my 6 oz. of yogurt for b-fast are LONG gone and now im just counting minutes till lunch... argh... I babble and whine yet some more

Buffalo, NY Band 6-30-08 HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE!!!
Fernando replied to NoPBJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do not let one insensitive nurse ruin the whole lapband experience for you. Let your doctor know that you had trouble with throwing up so that they can make sure your band did not move and go from there. It will get better, I promise!! Bowl of cherries with one big pit of a nurse does not ruin the whole bowl of cherries... let your self heal and give the band a chance to do its job Good luck on your road to recovery, Kim -
I am definitley ready for my fill!!!! 8 days.... I am HUNGRY and I have noticed that when my tummy "growls" it is a big rumble that I can feel and hear. and 4 oz is just NOT filling me up at all... I am still hungry when I am finished. I have eaten as much as 3/4 to a cup at times if it is something like chili that has liquid to it also but I am trying to stick to the "soft" foods and the Protein first. And I am now stalled with the weight as well :/ I have however been hitting and missing my walking.. I hate my treadmill and it has been rainey and I notice that I have been very sleepy in the afternoons to where I am falling asleep when I get home from work I will def. get back to it today!! I am just tired of being HUNGRY!!! 8 more days...
-
Wow 3 months is a long time!!! are you getting hungry yet??
-
I use the Protein bullets too!! Life savers is all i can say:thumbup: I got mine from ebay, still seales and got a good deal where I did not have to pay shipping... ended up being around 2.50 a piece (cheaper then GNC) The GNC in my area is always out of stock:thumbdown: gramma I went ahead and added u to our june first fill list since I saw you have a fill scheduled if that is Ok?? Kim
-
I dirink a glass of skimmed milk with sugar free carnation instant Breakfast to help boost my calories and get the added Protein also!! do that twice a day and u add 280 calories and 26 grams of protein If you are not concerned with the sugars from milk products (they are supposed to be naturally occuring and not as bad??) then a regular glass of choclate milk!! 8oz = 210 calories and 9 grams protein I also drink the K2O waters... 50 calories a bottle with 5 protien and 5 Fiber 16 oz. bottle = 2 Water servings!!! Between the milk and 2 bottles of those I am getting 6 servings of fluids as well so extra bonus!! Just a suggestion

wow music mom a fill in 2 and 1/2 weeks!!!! I was banded the third and am in for hte 14th of july.... long 6 weeks!!!
-
My doctor has everyone sign a contract that they will exercise for 30 minutes EVERYDAY so I set my ticker to reflect that as a goal.... I am newly banded, and not even had a fill yet so it seems like the weight is so slow coming off Hopefully honoring the contract with ole doc will help

Is this why I'm NOT losing?
Fernando replied to katie78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor actually told me to expect to plateau off when I get a fill and then to start losing again slowly right before the next fill.... Then when we get the right restriction I will start to see the steady weight loss ... He just wanted me to be preppared ahead of time so I would not get frustrated -

Well I wasn't banded June 18th but in June... I just wanted to invirte everyone here to look under the monthly support groups and go to June... (if you havent already) We have a group of us who call ourselves the Jazxzie Junes... We kept track of all of us and so far there were 304 of us banded in June... We have a GREAT network going and would love to have ALL of anyone who was banded in June with us:) Kim -

You are definatley in my prayers. I hope that in the days to come you will find the peace that it sounds like your dad would want for you. Prayers for your grandmother and God's will for all of the details over the next few days as well. Kim
