LADIES ONLY! Period after vsg
kristen.bee replied to dbbonoso's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep!! I'm 6-7 months post-op (I don't remember rn lmao) and my periods have been a lot more painful!! They usually last for less time tho?? I've always had like 3-4 days of actual bleeding, but cramping, craving, and mood swings that lasted a full 7 days, but on my latest period last week, I only bled for a day!! I couldn't leave the heating pad for a minute tho lmao it was soooo painful!! -

I can honestly say that I've never judged someone based on their size, and if I ever did, I would be totally ashamed of myself. It is not my place to judge, whether silently or outwardly. As someone who has struggled with my weight my entire life, I know how it feels to have strangers laugh at you, gossip about you, and stare in disgust or amusement. It's truly one of the worst feelings in the world, and the reason that I was too scared to even leave my house for several months. I was terrified of being laughed at. Some of the replies here truly make me sick -- especially coming from people who struggled with obesity at one point in their lives. Judging people is never right. Regardless of whether you think you're "helping" them, you aren't. You're making things worse.

hey!! i'm 22, and about 6 months out from surgery. it's 100% the best decision i ever made! i've struggled with my weight ever since i was a kid -- i remember "dieting" for the first time when i was around 8 -- and the surgery has helped in sooo many ways! i haven't had any issues with loose skin so far, but i'm also not all that far along. i also think you should let your partner know what you're going through right now! i'm sure if you share your concerns with him, he would be able to put your mind at ease a bit. best of luck to you!! i'm sure everything will go great!!

The experiences of a young sleever

congrats!! we're the same age! super great to see someone else my age who had the surgery done, i've been a bit worried about having it at my age. my mom also had wls years ago! i had a "last meal" the night before i started my pre-op liquid diet, too -- homemade chicken nuggets and mashed caulflower. and it was HEAVENLY omggg i'm so sorry you had so much pain after the surgery :( i had almost none tbh, i was mostly just uncomfortable for the first few days. i even stopped taking pain meds on my second day in the hospital! i'm glad i'm not the only one whose appetite came back so soon after surgery!! mine never really went away, unfortunately :( i'm almost 6 months out, and i avoid snacking as much as possible!! i have a reusable water bottle that holds 25 oz of liquid, and i usually eat only after i've finished drinking one, and i drink five a day! i made the mistake of trying bread once and NEVER AGAIN omg, it makes me SUPER uncomfortable! i don't have any issues with rice, though! and i haven't had any pasta since surgery 😭 it used to be my fav food so i'm missing it!! i've had some amazing veggie pasta, though!! sorry for the rambly post, i was just so super excited to see someone with so many similarities! hope things continue to go well for you!!
