    The Sweetheart Goal!

WELL, IF ITS JUST 1 POUND, TO KNOW THAT I'M AT LEAST 1 POUND LIGHTER THEN 230.9 WOULD MAKE MY DAY!!! I pushed and worked so hard to just be in the 220's bc i can't even remember the last time i was in the 220's! heck, i weight 236 the day i got married, so i should be happy that i'm smaller now then i was 9 yrs ago. i know. but i still wanted to see that number stop at 220-229. i will definitely have to go buy those new scales this weekend! this not knowing is killing me. i think i'm going to try to start weighing myself on the 1day and the last day of my period and just see what type of differece my body has.

    The Sweetheart Goal!

i went to the dr. today for my 4th fill and imagine my disappointment when i had only lost 5lbs in the past month! and thats with me working my tail off on the elliptical daily! my thought was that hopefully this 4th fill will help, and also us supporting each other with different tips, tricks, etc of what works for us. plus, just having each other as accountability partners is really helping me. i have one female question that i've been Dying to ask but didn't want to offend anyone. today whenever i weighed, was also the 1st day of my period....so i'm wondering about how much i may REALLY weigh, considering the extra retention from my menstraul cycle. i've heard that some women gain anywhere from 5-10 lbs during their monthly cycle, and i am HOPING and PRAYING that next week i'll see a bigger loss bc of this. what do you think? i really thought that i'd be in the 220's by now...and i didn't care if it was 229, i just wanted that so bad...and then the scale said 230.9 and i immediately was disappointed. xoxo, christie

Nymphs' Valentines Day Challenge Week 2 (1/17/08)

there is a "SWEETHEART GOAL" in progress already for Valentines day...if anyone is interested in that then i can give you the link to it. the goal is to lose 14lbs by Feb 14. we just started 2 days ago so there is plenty of time left to get in on that goal if you'd like. not trying to steal your post, but just thought you'd like to join the one already in progress. xoxo, christie ps- we haven't posted stats yet. just a thread where we're supporting each other. we'll check into each others stats once a week or so, but really just using the honor system and supporting each other.

    The Sweetheart Goal!

dont feel bad! at first i could do 10minutes and i felt like i was DYING! lol...i had to really build up to it. it took me a couple of weeks and now i really can't believe that i am able to past 1mile.....its an incredible feeling of accomplishment. i hope that over time i'll be able to get 2miles in at a time and really feel like i probably am not that far from that. i need to put in more then 1mile a day to meet my goal because i know that there will be times when i'm sick or on vacation that will make me fall behind....actually, today is day 16 and i'm already behind....but i'm hoping to catch up soon, which is why i've pushed myself past 1mile a day recently. you will build up to it. i am also a sahm and my hubby works nights. usually when he leaves for work and my son is in bed i go in the garage and crank up the sterio and just go for it. now don't think i'm weird, but i feel like whenever i just close my eyes and get in the zone i do alot better then if i'm staring at the timer/mileage constantly. so i try to just close my eyes often and listen to music. plus, i know that a song usually last about 3.5minutes, so i know after a song or two i will look up to see how far i've gone....just a lil trick i've picked up recently...maybe that will help you out. xoxo, christie

    The Sweetheart Goal!

GEORGIA GIRL, i also have a nordic trak elliptical and i use it at home in the garage....where i can crank up the radio and just go for it! i don't have a gym membership, i have cancelled that some time back bc it just wasn't feasible....i hated leaving my now 5yr old son in their childcare center for an extra $15 a month. it was clean and safe, but home is free. originally i was walking 3miles a day a few times a week, but then when it got colder outside i kinda stopped the walking altogether, then for christmas i got the elliptical on the deal of a lifetime and i just had to have it, had heard great things about it. i love and hate my elliptical at the same time! lol. i love alot of things about it, mainly only hate the part where i get BORED from staring at the same thing on the wall all the time. lol. i've actually started to turn it toward a different wall everynow and then just bc i found myself stopping my workout more out of boredom then out of exhaustion when i knew i could've kept going. oh, and to answer your other question, i don't really base my workout on the elliptical on time so much as i do distance....but thats bc of my "YEAR OF MILES" challenge. i have to keep up with the miles for that. last night it took me 45minutes to complete 1.75miles....and i know it sounds like i didn't go very far for that long of time, but i am working out with a resistance pattern so some of it is harder then others. xoxo, christie ps - sorry, i know i am long winded...lol. didn't mean to write you a novel.

    The Sweetheart Goal!

Glad you're joining us! I was just updating my "signature line" and I still have one more challenge to add, but i'm thinking that its getting to be a lil too much of a signature line! lol. i have also recently joined the Jan - Summer 2008 Challenge...my goal for that is to lose 33 lbs between now and june 1st....so, if i lose this 14lbs by vday then i'll be almost half way there!!! with plenty of time to spare!!! really going to try to push hard and meet or beat the "sweetheart goal" and happy to have this goal to help me achieve my other more long term goals! mini goals rock! someone had mentioned an Easter Goal after we complete the "Sweetheart Goal" and i think that would be AWESOME! its the small steps that we take now, that will get us to our goal...then we'll turn around from taking all the small steps, look back, and realize that we've all come a very long way!

    The Sweetheart Goal!

i did 1.75miles on the elliptical yesterday and 1.35miles on it today. HOWEVER, that being said, i am doing a 2008 challenge, "A YEAR OF MILES"....so the elliptical total goes towards that for me. the "A YEAR OF MILES" 2008 challenge means 365 miles in 365 days. its a goal that i have one year to accomplish. it began on jan 1 and ends on dec 31. so, i kinda get the motivation to work towards 2 goals this way! the miles go towards my "Year of Miles" challenge, and it helps me lose weight in "The Sweetheart Goal". oh, i got my 4th fill today and i'm now at 5cc (in a 10cc band) and holy moly i think i finally hit my "sweet spot"! i now actually have restriction! i just hope it sticks! i lost some of my 2nd fill, but have kept all the others. how much are you exercising AND what about ya'lls fills? how many fills and what cc are ya'll up to? xoxo, christie

    The Sweetheart Goal!

had an appt w/dr. spivak this morning and i'm now up to 5cc in my band. i think i may actually have some restriction now! YAY! so now, to work towards my sweetheart goal i think i'm going to have to step it up a knotch on my elliptical...and i'm gonna have to stay away from the sweet tea. not sure where ya'll are from but here in texas, and alot of other places, sweet tea is just a part of the culture, and also a part of my downfall! lol so, more exercise, and less liquid calories! thats what i'm going to work towards for the next couple of days and i'll let ya'll know how its going. i guess i also need to get a set of scales since my last ones got thrown out. what type/brand of weight scales do ya'll use? i want something that will be fairly accurate but not too expensive. got any suggestions???

    The Sweetheart Goal!

GREAT! i'm so excited to have both of you join me in the "sweetheart goal"!!! i can't wait to see our end results! i think this is just the boost i needed. to have a few other people working together through inspiration and motivation may help give us that edge this month! so, now that a few of us are in on the goal....can i ask, what date ya'll were banded? i was banded 9/14/07, so feb 14th will also be my 5month bandiversary! i'm excited to see where i'll be in terms of weight loss by that date and hope to go above and beyond the 14lbs, but honestly, i know that shooting for 14lbs in one month isn't going to be an easy task. xoxo, christie

    4 mo checkup

i'm doing okay but really feel like it'd be great for us september bandsters to really kick it up a notch with a goal that all of us could reach for together. i've lost 35-40 lbs...will get a definite from dr. spivaks office this wed. 1/16 when i go for my 4th fill. anyhow, not trying to hijack this thread, but i really am interested in us sept bandsters doing something that we could all really work hard for, support each other with, etc. lets kick it in gear! wouldn't it be great to look even better and weigh even less for our sweethears on valentines day? and maybe some of us will look and feel better in the vday lingerie this year then ever before! THE SWEETHEART GOALREADY, SET, LOSE!!!!! WE HAVE UNTIL FEB 14TH TO LOSE 14LBS! 14LBS IN APPROX 1 MONTH! LETS DO IT!!!
  18. uuhhh, well, it'd probably be easy for you to tell her no if you were involved with someone else....then your sister could tell her co-worker obese female friend that she didn't realize you were in the process of seeing someone else. no one wins, no one loses, everybody still loves each other. sounds like perhaps you need to go on a lil hunt yourself! you know what you like, and you know what you want, so go get it! - just hurry! seems as if time may play a factor in all this. otherwise, you'll have to play the diarreah card or something evertime a meeting or date is arranged. and who knows, maybe you should just go with the flow, go on the date, heck , the girl may find she doens't have much in common with you and she may be the one to tell your sister she's crazy! lol. but, seems to me your sister is really just trying to hook up her friend from work and you happen to be an easy target since you're her brother. tell your sister if she likes her so much, then she can date her, but you're staying in the playing field for someone else right now. ok, i gave you several options....and if worse comes to worse, simply call the chick yourself and eliminate the middle man. tell her that it could never be serious between you two until the herpes clears up in a few months! LOL...ok, just threw that one in there for grins!
  19. the most beautful person (guy or girl) in the world can open there mouth and all of a sudden become unattractive! ya'll know what i mean? i can appreciate a nice figure and looks, but if they open there mouth to speak and they have rude, nasty personalities to go along w/their hott looks, then its just a turn off. the same is true for the opposite. an obese person with other appearance problems can open their mouth to speak and all of a sudden become alot more attractive. although looks are first impression, i'm more attracted to whats behind the meat suit that we're all trapped in. the character of a person goes farther with me then anything else.

TANN!!!! you've lost over 200 lbs!!! that truely is a HUGE BLESSING!!! what an inspiration! xoxo, Christie
  21. i agree with everyone on all the tips! i bought a lil pink blank journal and i would write down everything i ate including Snacks and drinks and expecially Water intake.... also, log down exercise, weight, goals, and any notes to self, etc. and goals. its a great way to look back at your progress if you ever hit a plateau and maybe see what you used to do while losing that you aren't doing anymore or haven't done in awhile. i actually got out of the habit of writing in my wls journal and was beginning what i thought to be an early plateau...but after going back and reading in it, i see that i had gotten off track some and have now gotten back into writing in it, and staying on a better diet that includes exercise challenges/goals too! GOOD LUCK! xoxo, christie

    Christian bandsters

i want a graph chart like yours!! but, whenever i went to tickerfactory all i saw was tickers, no graphs/charts....whats your secret? how do i create my own?! i LOVE your graph! that rocks! xoxo, christie

    Wedding Food

why not just stick w/ an early afternoon wedding and just do cake, punch, nuts, mints, and maybe a champagne toast....?! send them off to dinner on their own afterwards... either that, or do an after dinner wedding, like around 7:30pm or something.... keep it simple. no one should judge you or your fiance's character by the type of meal that you served at your wedding. also, cake, punch, nuts, mints, etc...you could possibly add a fruit arrangement and maybe a cheese tray to that for fairly cheap. if you're worried about money, KEEP IT SIMPLE! it can be simple and still elegant all at the same time. hope that helps. however, potluck??? ehhh, i don't think its proper ettiquette to say, "hey, you're invited to my wedding, could ya bring some grub w/ya too?" xoxo, christie
  24. hazeleyegrl1

    The band and exercise

i was banded 9/14/07 and roughly 4wks or so post-op i began walking around the neighborhood. i walked anywhere from 1-3miles a day, 2 to 3 times per week. however, i have recently stepped it up. i'm on the 2008 Challenge of "A Year of Miles", 365 miles and i have 365 days to accomplish it. i do my "Year of Miles" on an elliptical, which averages to a mile per day, but keeping in mind that i have to bank some miles for the days that i won't be at home to complete them, like vacation, etc. that way i won't get beind on my goal. i just began this on jan1st and today being jan 12th, its my day 12 and i have completed ALMOST 12miles, but i still have the end of the day to finish. i often do my mile at night, so technically i'm a lil ahead. hope this helps. xoxo, christie

    Be Honest....

well, i've heard of botox parties but fill parties?!?? good Lord, what next? heart transplant parties?! lol.... i think thats ridiculously crazy and anyone who was willing to go through getting the lapband for the right reasons, being health and not just vanity alone, probably would never consider going to one of those parties. just my opinion. i for sure wouldn't. i value my health more then that! xoxo, christie
