    What is wrong with me?

    sounds like you just haven't hit that sweet spot yet and need another fill or two. also, hows your exercise routine? maybe thats something that could possibly help you get over that weight loss slump. keep trying though, we've all been in those weight loss slumps and ya just gotta try to push past. xoxo, christie

    Clothing on the 'weigh' down

    GOOD IDEA ABOUT THE WEDDING DRESS!!! i'm going to have to try mine on, haven't worn it in 9yrs since i got married! i'm thinking that it actually might be too big since i weighed 236 the day i got married and am now at 221! but maybe i'll have it altered and retake pix for our 10th wedding anniversary! that'd be fun! I SHOP, at the Family Thrift Store here in the Houston/North Shore, TEXAS area alot. i find GREAT deals. also, i give my bigger clothes to my friends that can fit and actually want them and i donate the rest. i've had several friends that have had WLS and have given me some of their hand me downs, but so far i'm not small enough to fit in them, so i have them stored away for now. THE THRIFT STORES, GOODWILL, ETC is going to be your absolute BEST BET! but, i don't chinch on the undergarments! i go all out for the panties and bras....bc i just cannot seem to bring myself to buy a USED bra and especially someones USED panties - GROSS!.....i don't care if they are clean, there is a reason those people got rid of them...and it was more then likely bc they were USED! as in, over worn, or stretched out bras, elastic, etc. just grosses me out. lol... good luck and happy shopping! xoxo, christie

    The Sweetheart Goal!

    wooohoooo! i'm down 12lbs for the sweetheart goal! only 2 more lbs til goal! and we still have 13days left! now if i can just KEEP IT UP, then it'll be all good. seems like i was stuck fluctuating between 221.5 and 222 FOREVER, but it was really only like 4 days. i feel better now that i've pushed past that mini-plateau and i realize that it was my lack of exercising and over indulgence on calorie intake that kept me there. i soooo feel back on track now! even did 1.05 miles on the elliptical today and a lil over 2miles on it yesterday. i plan on heading back towards the elliptical here in a bit tonight and TRYING to attempt my catchup! i should be at 32miles on the elliptical by today, but since i was sick i got behind and i'm only just under 21 miles....so, about 11 or 12 miles behind, but I WILL CATCH UP! I HAVE TOO! lol. hope all of you have a great weekend! xoxo, christie ps - i learned tonight that a rice krispy (brand name) treat only has 90 calories!!! and that beats the 100 calorie snacks that are so popular these days! bought them for my son and looked out of curiousity!!! anyhow, just thought i'd share that bit of info bc afterall, 10 calories saved is better then 10 extra calories!

    The Sweetheart Goal!

    i'm stuck at the same weight....but today i've kicked up the exercise a bit since i had slacked off while being sick....and of course, i'm watching my food intake a lil better so hopefully i'll see that scale moving downward again soon. here's what i've eaten so far today: brkfst: 1 boiled egg = 76 calories lunch: 1propel water - 25 calories dinner: 5 saltine crackers = 60 calories and about 5oz sloppy joe = 200 calories....but i'm just estimating the sloppy joe, i really have no idea on the calorie intake of it.... additional calorie counting drinks = 1 propel= 25 calories total calorie intake for today:386 calories again, i only estimated the sloppy joe...i think it was about 5oz, BUT, i have no clue on the calories of it at all. so i could be 100 calories off to my disadvantage, but surely no more then that. either way, i've had less then 500 calories today and i'm proud of me! i might have to add a snack in there later tonight, but if i do i'll stick to a sugar free jello or something like that. xoxo, christie

    i did a bit better today then i did yesterday...here's what i had.... bkfast = just Water, was very tight this morning lunch = 1/2 cup pecan crusted chicken salad (johnny carinos) dinner = 3oz chicken noodle Soup, and about 2oz of potato soup no Snacks today! woo hoo! but i did have PLENTY of water....i was EXTREMELY thristy today for some reason....so i drank drank drank. HOPING to see a downward change on the scale in the morning....still haven't gotten back into my exercise routine since this cough/cold i'm fighting....BUT, the will power/motivation is starting to return as the cough/cold is getting better and better....cross your fingers i can start back soon! xoxo, christie

    The Sweetheart Goal!

    I didn't do so hott today on the food intake. it wasn't too too bad i guess, but i just happened to consume more today then normal. i guess its ok to do that from time to time, but now i'm scared that my weight loss may be hindered a bit by it. no biggie, i'll get back to the normal eating and exercising routine tomorrow. here's what was on my menu today: bkfast = 1 boiled egg lunch = 1 cup chilli dinner = i sorta grazed on chocolate covered pretzels, pumpkin seeds, about 2oz of ham, more chocolate covered pretzels, and some sweet tea. we had like a "snack supper" at church tonight and i did stay away from the cake, those darn pretzels were my down fall!! lol. oh yea, i almost forgot....i had one of those 100calorie Snacks this afternoon too. i figure i've probably had approx. 1200-1500 calories today and i usually have anywhere from 400-900....depending. anyhow, i'm not really beating myself up over it. i actually am wondering if my band might be loosening some since i've lost nearly 12 lbs in 10 days....who knows. tomorrow i'll be back at it.....AND...i have GOT to get back on that elliptical! i've been fighting the cough & cold symptoms and have really slacked off....now the cold is gone but the cough is lingering...and when i get hot, i start coughing more, so i've put the elliptical off....but that makes me fall behind on my "Year of Miles" goal....ugh! can't win for losing...tomorrows another day! xoxo, Christie

    Whole Food Market(s)

    Do any of ya'll ever shop at those whole food markets that i've noticed are becoming more and more popular these days? i'm sure there's probably one or two in the Houston area but I haven't taken the time to go check one out. So, i thought i'd ask here first and see what everyone thinks of them. the only thing i've heard is that certain items can be a bit pricey.... but, what do ya'll think? have you been to one? better quality food, especially for us bandsters who need to make the nutrients count??? lemme know what ya'll think....i'm thinking it might be a wasted trip, or it might be a great new way to grocery shop. xoxo, Christie

    Eating Out of Boredom

    if you don't want to be out after work, you could always just buy some of those workout VIDEOS and replace the snaking w/a quick lil workout....don't skip the gym during the day, but just add in a lil extra cardio at night. the perk to that is, it'll help the weight come off quicker and tone muscles too. GOODLUCK with whatever you decide. i have spare time at nights too, but try to steer clear of the kitchen. once i'm done cooking and cleaning for the night i usually turn off the lights in there and stay outta there unless its to grab some Water. xoxo, christie

  17. remember NOT to DRINK while eating your meals. wait at least 30min before or after your meal. you don't want to fill your pouch up with too many liquids when its nutrient time ie; food time! lol. that helped me out alot bc i was having things get stuck. i still haven't ever PB'd, thank goodness....but i have had things get stuck here recently and couldn't figure it out....so i went over the long list of to do's and not to do's and found what is working for me. be blessed and good luck figuring out your body. we're all different and somethings, tricks of the trade, etc. just work for some better then others. xoxo, christie

    The Sweetheart Goal!

    georgia girl, you are going to surpass that goal girl! you're doing so great at it! look at your over all loss of 62lbs! thats amazing!!! i remember thinking if i could just get to the 230's i'd be happy....i started out at 264.4.....and now i'm at 224.0 and i can't wait to see the number 200 on the scales!! and then i'll bust my behind to see the 199 show up...ahhh, dreaming about ONE-derland! still seems so far off. i hope i'm at 200 by this june, before our family reunion! they haven't seen me in 2yrs and none of them are aware that i've had the surgery. i'm thinking that i may tell them - when they ask how i lost the weight - by eating less and exercising more. which in part is truth....but, i know me, ill probably go on to be the natural born lapband sales woman i am! lol. dr. spivak should hire me in to talk to potential clients! i could sooo tell them what its like just at a 40lb weight loss and the achievement and success you feel. and just overall healthier and lighter step. i was at church tonight decorating and we had to climb a ladder to hang stuff from the ceiling and a few of the girls were like, "make christie do it, it has a 250 weight limit on it!". it took me a minute to realize thats another NSV! i'm under the weight limit for a rickity old wooden church ladder! lol. and no, i didn't climb it....i still felt like someone smaller should do it, but mostly bc i hate ladders! but the fact is, I COULD have done it! thats a great feeeling! xoxo, Christie keep posting updates and for everyone else in on the "sweetheart goal" please feel free to step in on our lil chats. just our way of staying sane through the huddles and struggles of weight loss. and its been a great tool to get to know each other better as well!     oh and ps - imagine the ackward look on my hairdressers face whenever i looked down at the hair on the floor and asked her....about how much do you figure all that hair weighs??? i know that lady probably thought i was nuts....lol...especially bc i didn't go on to explain that i have a lapband! lol...poor lady has no idea WHY on earth i would ask such a weird question. she just shrugged and was like...."uhhhhh, idk". i tried to cover up with some lame reply like...."well i mean, my head just feels so much lighter, i feel like you cut 5lbs off or something!".....ya'll know it does feel great to get your hair cut..... anyhow, i just kinda dropped the subject after that. xoxo, christie

    the cold is a teeny tiny bit better, but i still have a miserable cough. its getting better,but still haven't exercised....getting hott makes the cough worse, so i'm just chillin til i'm better. ok, so i went and had a full inch cut off my hair yesterday, i have thick hair....and so i was thinking....i wonder how much all that hair weighs...LOL....i know, i might be getting a lil carried away...but serious, i was wondering that....and thinking to myself....ohhh i bet it weighs at least a pound...hair can be heavy ya know. then i decided that was overkill and it probably only weighed 1/2 a lb. so i decided that from now on, right before i go to my weight loss surgeon appt's, i'll go have 1/2 an inch or more cut off the day or so before hand, ya know, help boost myself up when the scales read even less...lol....ya'll laughing at me yet??? i was sooooo serious in this thinking! lol...now i'm laughing at myself. so i got on the scales this morning bound and determined to see at least a 1/2 - 1lb weight loss from my haircut alone...lol....imagine my surprise when i weigh the same as yesterday! 224.0 and holding. now c'mon....hair has GOT to weigh something....its not weightless! but a full inch...i mean, i'm surprised that it wasn't at least a 1/4 of a pound...lol...something, anything...lol. like i said, i may have been getting a lil carried away with the thinking of haircut ='s weight loss stuff....so don't try that at home or anything, but i thought i'd share that laugh w/ya'll. xoxo, christie.

    Most Weight Lost in 1Wk??

    Ok, so I either have a serious malfunction with my new weight scales, or I have really lost some serious weight this week. Last Wednesday 1/16 i weighed in at 230.9 @ Dr. Sprivaks Office. This morning my scales read out 190.5.....and i'm thinking, NO WAY i've lost 40 lbs in a weeks time....that would put me at 80lbs weight loss in just 4months. so i know i sound ridiculous and i know its probably just my scales acting up....so i'm impatiently waiting my DH to get home (he works nights) so that he can weigh himself and we'll see how accurate they are. which brings me to the question at hand.... HOW MUCH IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT WEIGHT LOSS YOU'VE HAD IN 1WKS TIME? EVERYONE FEEL FREE TO CHIME IN....I'M HOPING FOR A MIRACLE HERE, BUT FIGURING ITS JUST A MALFUNCTION! xoxo, Christie

    Most Weight Lost in 1Wk??

    ok so it was a huge fluke! blah! my DH came home and weighed and it was about 30#'s off on him....then he noticed that the scales weren't level, apparently, one side was sitting in the crevace of the ceramic tile floor and was throwing it all off.... he adjusted it and make sure it was level and of course, much to my dismay, it is now reading more correctly and of course, i haven't lost the 30lbs....BUT, i did lose 1.5lbs over night, so there's still some victory in that! thanks for all the replies! its still VERY interesting to see what everyones highest weight loss in 1wk is. my first thought this morning before he got home was that my clothes would be alot bigger on me, so i grabbed the smallest pair of pants i own that i haven't worn in years, size 18 levi's....and YES!!!! THEY FIT PERFECTLY! not too tight, not too loosely! so that was another victory, of course i knew right away that if i had infact lost that 30lbs then they'd be hanging off my hips.... well, what can i say, one can only dream i guess. i realize that i didn't gain all the weight overnight and i won't be able to lose it all overnight. again, thanks for all the input, and i'd still love to keep this thread going to see what the biggest 1wk loss everyone has seen. xoxo, christie

    here was my menu for the day: (what i ate) brkfast: 1oz atkins Protein shake mixed w/ 3oz 1% skim milk lunch: 16oz bottled Water dinner: 10oz watered down sweet tea and 1 pintos n cheese (tacobell) yea so i shouldn't have done the taco bell....BUT, bc we have church on wednesday night, i almost never cook on wednesday nights...theres just too much going on to take the time out to cook on wed nights. haven't weighed today since the scale was misreading, but hubby got it straightened out...apprarently it was sitting in the crease of the ceramic tile flow and was reading improperly....much to my dismay, since it was weighing me like 30# lighter!! lol. xoxo, christie

    i've been fighting this cold/flu bug for the past couple of days and i haven't managed to exercise since like saturday afternoon! plus tonight, i got something seriously stuck and I WISHED I COULD PB it!!! but that never happened, eventually it went down but the pain and discomfort!!! and i chewed really well, i think i just had one bite too much and that was it! since being filled to 5cc i am SUPER TIGHT and part of me likes it bc the scales are going down and i'm mostly on a liquid diet until dinner time bc i just can't seem to get much down until mid-late afternoon.....but, my hubby fears that i'll stay sick longer if i can't get in enough nutrition....so, i'm doubling up on my multi-viatmins for now. seems like we're all having a tough time here and there, but there's still plenty of time before Vday! thank goodness! xoxo, christie
