hey everyone, sorry i didn't post sooner but i was sleeply. i also got banded on may29th and was monitored in the hospital overnight. i made it the hosptial around 5:45am. the surgery started at 7:30am and i was in recovery by 8:45am. my family was really shocked how quickly everything went. once i was in recovery they give me a small amount of pain killers but since i wasn't really having any pain, they took me off. I'm don't have any gas or shoulder pain. the main concern for me after surgery was my bp which went up while i was in recovery. everything else is good. i'm able to sleep on my side due to the positions of the incisions. right now i do feel bloated but i'm not sure if that's due to my period or the surgery. Any way after reading everyones postings through out this process, i was really hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. I'm just happy that i don't have to deal with some of the side affects of the surgery (well at least for now). thanks to everyone for posting their stories. it has helped me so much. thank you again

hey allison, to prepare for my surgery for the 29th i brought non favored soy protein from the vitamin shop for under $20. -
i'm happy that all of you are doing well. i'm getting the same vibe from everyone about the surgery...it's painful but worth it and walking is the key. i'm also getting banded on may29th and i hope that my surgery turns out as well as yours.

hey bama belle, i'm also having my surgery on thursday the 29th. at this point i'm not scared or nervous. i feel like i'm going through the motions for someone else. it doesn't seem real to me. i guess once i get to the hosptial and start signing the paper, i'll finally realize that it's go time. i hope that everything goes well for the both of us as well as all the may 29th banders.

girl congrats on your surgery. i'm not being banded until may 29th but i can understand your statement about the pain. i'm not really focusing on being in pain after the surgery, right now i'm more concerned about just making it through surgery. i'm happy you are home. please keep us posted and thanks for sharing your story here and on your blog

hey shannon. we have alot in common. i'm also 29 and i'm getting my surgery on May the 29th and i'm also afraid about getting the surgery as well. weird things normally have a tendence to happen to me and i just keep on thinking that the 0.01 chance of death during surgery will be me. but one thing that i keep on thinking about is my bp and weight. if i don't get these reduced soon, i will either have a stroke or worse. fear of the unknown is normal. for that reason surgery does scare me since this is going to be my first one. but fear of the know is moving me to get this done. i want to live a health life...i know its hard but try to think about the reasons way you are having this surgery. i'm sure that that will help you to see that you are making the right choice not for anyone else, but for yourself.

i hope your surgery goes well. i love that show...to bad a missed it yesterday

disneyfreak, caligirl626, and new jewel..i really have to thank you for your stories about your surgery. i'm going in on may29th and your stories have left me feeling more hopeful that i can do this. thanks for all your tips as well, i will be putting them do good use very soon. thank you again. -
hi, i'm not sure if my doctor is in bergen co. but its in northern nj. my doctor is Dr. Andrei. His office is in livingston. Don't have my surgery until may29th but i just heard wonderful things about him. He is really nice and he takes his time to explain things. he normally holds several seminars during the month. if i was you i would go to one to find out more. a matter of fact many doctors in nj hold seminars so you can go to them and meet them. but to be honest i love my doctor.

hi tyler, i don't get on for surgery until may29th, but i also was selective to those i told. i just figured that with such a life changing decision, my family should know just out of respect, love and consideration for their place in my life. also when i go over their homes, i don't have to lie about why i can't eat a whole mean. as someone mentioned it will really surprise you who is supportive and who isn't...but the bottom line is that it's your choice who you want to tell. i don't my dad, my sisters, my brother, and four of my friends. i also told them so i can have people to take care of me afterward. lol

caterpillarfly, i'm really sorry to hear about what happened. please don't give up. you came this far and have done so much, don't let this bad news set you back in anyway. it was better that they cancelled the surgery than proceed which could have put your life in harms way in turn your child would have been affected..

hi angelic, i'm getting my surgery on may29th and i also will be getting the realize band. according to the information the doctor gave me, the realize band is good due to the way the port is connected during the surgery which prevents the port from flipping. they have a website online which gives a lot of information on the band. i would take sometime to read it. the website also has a 3 year account online that helps you track your process. it's really cool

congrats to all of you from may 9th

Any May Realize bandits out there?
beanbean replied to 2BtinyinTN's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i just during pre admission testing today that i will be getting the realize band on May 29th -
wow!! 1200 for an eval is alot. i did mine two weeks ago and it was $150. my doctor and the therapist work together. so the same day i saw the doctor for follow up i also saw the therapist in the same office. i would ask your doctor for a list of therapists. the eval is not that serious. mine took about 15mins longs. $1200 is alot of money unless you are required to go for a couple of sessions. is that price just for one visit?
