  1. Thanks, sweet Dee! I guess my plateau is over . . . I didn't weigh for a month cuz I was so discouraged and I just weighed and I've lost 2.5 lbs! YAY!!! That's so awesome what Dr. K. said! That had to feel really good.
  2. Hey Mal! How are you? No, our tent is not set up yet. DH has been out of town working quite a lot this month, and it just BARELY stopped raining here. In addition, not only were my dad and mother-in-law going through cancer treatment (MIL passed away) but now my mom is being treated for breast cancer. Blah. How is your fam?
  3. Hi everybody. I have been absent for quite awhile. I've been on a terrible plateau and it was really bugging me so I just haven't wanted to think about my band and weight loss. However, I am ready to tackle it again. I don't think I can possibly catch up with all the posts I've missed, but I'll give it a try. And if you start a new challenge after this one, I want to participate!!!!
  4. Oh, Jaime, that's just horrible. That poor woman. Well, hopefully they caught it early and it can be successfully treated. Wow, it seems like we've had more than our fair share of loved ones with cancer on this board lately.
  5. Marie, you look beautiful! You are so curvy . . .
  6. Marie, it's so wonderful that you were able to give the eulogy. You will always be happy that you did it. Deb, this has to be so tough right now with your mom. Hang in there and take care of yourself. I wouldn't spend much time worrying about your weight. There are more important things to do right now.
  7. Cheryl, those pics are the best! And, yes, have some dessert. Thanks for the b-day wishes, peeps!
  8. Blech. I am up .6 over the past two weeks. Oh well. Guess it could be worse. My husband and a friend threw me a surprise party Saturday night for my 50th birthday. It involved things like home made ice cream and cheesecake. And margaritas. Sigh.
  9. Sorry ladies!!! I shall try to behave myself, but I just have an issue with rules. Ya know.
  10. Sorry I missed the weigh in this week. I'll just wait and weigh on Monday. Lotza, how are you doing sweetie?
  11. Sweet Marie, I am so sorry to hear that your dad is gone, but am glad you were able to be with him before and after surgery. This is such a hard thing for you and for the rest of your family. Know that his love will live with you forever . . .
  12. Oh Deb. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope that everything works out for the best. I know your mom and dad must appreciate having such a loving and caring daughter.
  13. I am down -2.4 this week. Woohoo!!! Maybe my 6 week long plateau has finally ended! I've lost two weeks in a row. Jaime, I was just wondering the other night if Munchkin was still coming out to see you. How fun! Give her hugs and kisses from the gang. And you two stay out of trouble . . . yeah, right
  14. You can put me down for -1.2 Lotza', sounds like staying on liquids for a few days might be a good idea. Sorry everything hurts . . . Miss Dee, way to go on the NSV! Are you back yet?
  15. Chicken breast. Can't do it. I've tried and tried and I can't get it down. Broccoli is tough, and so are apples unless I really pay attention and chew chew chew. Potatoes are a problem. I ate one of those teeny filet mignons last night. It goes down with no problem at all. I can eat salad too . . . no problem. I really don't get it. Now here is the list of evil things that I can eat with no problem. Ice cream (of course), chocolate, crackers, cheese, etc etc. Calorie laden, fat-full, tasty yummy stuff. Bad bad bad.
  16. Hello! The conference has been quite good, actually. It was sooooo cold today though. The wind was just swirling downtown, and the power was out for a few hours. Brrrrr. Thanks again for the ride. It was so loverly to see you again!
  17. Oh good, I'm glad you guys are still going. We were just worried that maybe one person would come and no one would be there. Dee was going to have to drive all the way to pick me up, then to Red Robin, then take me back, etc. Hope you guys have fun. Sorry to have missed you.
  18. Hello everyone! I am on the phone with miss dee as we speak and the weather is too crappy for us to make it to Red Robin. Hope I catch everyone before they leave!!
  19. I'm excited to see you too! And it will be nice to get away for a few days, even though it's a conference. I will get to see some of my friends from grad school, so that will be fun.
  20. Hi everybody. Sorry to be away so long. My MIL ended up having some pretty awful complications from her surgery and passed away last Thursday. The funeral was Wednesday. I've been scrambling to cover my classes, etc. My dad is doing okay, had a third surgery the same day my MIL died. They still were unable to get all of the melanoma but are positive that the remaining cells are on the surface and can be dealt with via some sort of topical chemo. Fingers crossed. Lotza, I am so happy your family went to Disneyland. That's fantastic. You will always cherish that memory with your dad. I hope I get to see some of you on the 1st. That would be great. I have given up on our challenge. Haven't weighed for two weeks and am eating like crap (cupcakes, ice cream, assorted other comfort foods). ARGH!!!
  21. I am sooooo sorry that I've been so bad about posting as of late, and I'm way behind on reading, and I missed the weigh in this past weekend entirely. My dad had surgery for his melanoma last Thursday and they had to go back in this morning as they didn't get it all. Luckily, the lymph nodes were clear though. My MIL had the lower lobe of one lung removed this morning and they found another lesion in the upper part of the lung . . . won't know the results of the biopsy on that or her lymph nodes for 2 days. Luckily, they are in the same hospital, just a few hundred yards down the hall from one another. I will weight next Saturday. Good job to everybody who lost! Sorry for the driveby!
  22. I am down 3.5. Still have some of that Mexico weight. Sigh.
  23. Brandy!!! So loverly to hear from you! Your HS reunion sounds fantastic. And, yes, even though you're married, getting hit on is a definite high. Good job, girl!
