  1. Sure! Anybody else? It's asking a lot, but I'm willing to drink more one for each of you if that's what you need. Anything for my team!!
  2. mmmm, smirnoff ice. Nummy! Yes, I think a beer is in order. What a fab idea on a hot, hot afternoon.
  3. Oh, yes. My insurance company can kiss my fat (soon to be scrawny) butt. This will save them sooooo much money every year, not to mention the escalating expenses as years go by. A surgeon that I talked to here said that many of them state that, since the average person only stays with one insurance company for three years, they don't ever reap the benefits. What crap.
  4. Mmmmm, a tall, frothy Porter. Yummy. Oh, I should drink one of those soon cuz I won't be able to later!!!
  5. I just can't believe that 45 minutes will change my life! The best 45 minutes ever! And I've had some pretty great 45 minute increments of time in my life. I was just adding up a bunch of medical expenses to submit for reimbursement from my flexible spending account. Wow, if I'm able to get off some of my meds and such, my surgery will pay for itself in just a few years. YAYYY!!!
  6. That's a wonderful story. I would cry too. So if Dr. K is operating on me at 1 and talking to you at 3, he must be planning on my surgery going smoooooothhhhh.
  7. I have a swimsuit that covers me chin to ankle. Seriously. I have red hair and very fair skin plus one of my meds makes me super photosensitive. A few years ago we were going to the Caribbean and I REALLY wanted to go snorkeling. So I ordered these swimpants and shirt from some Australian company that are spf 90 or something. It's black, lycra looking pants but not so tight that they show my assorted craters, and a long sleeved royal blue shirt with a high neck made of the same fabric. I wear a regular suit under it. At first I was worried that I'd look like a total dork, but I was so much more comfortable in it than when I have to prance around in a regular suit that I ended up thoroughly enjoying myself. I decided it looks like a very chic wetsuit. I haven't worn it to the pool though. That might be kind of different.
  8. Love you too. Can't wait to meet you!!
  9. Dee, this is so beautiful . . . and such a reflection of your incredible soul.
  10. Great pics, LA. And you look fabulous! congrats to everyone on your weight loss . . . and if you didn't lose this week you know you will next week. Thanks again to everyone for all the well wishes about my dad. He's so happy right now. I think he was a lot more afraid that he was letting on.
  11. Yes, it's pretty useless equipment after awhile. I had a hysterectomy . . . so instant menopause but it really wasn't that bad.
  12. Gotta say . . . pretty happy TOM doesn't visit anymore. Can't say I miss him in the slightest.
  13. I remember when I lived in Oregon that I was climbing walls my mid-June. Summer comes soooo late. You'll have such a great time. Hey, your consult is the afternoon of my surgery! My surgery is at 1:30 MST, what time is your consult?
  14. Hey, when do you leave for Mexico? Where are you going?
  15. 1hotmomma has a red hot BUTT!!
  16. Vegas, baby!! You best keep yourself out of trouble :frown:
  17. Oh my! That sounds awful. I hope that things start to get better soon.
  18. You deserve it! I was sad to read about your dad's behavior when you were young, but it's great that you were able to have a good relationship with him in the end. I am estranged from my mother and it haunts me - a lot.
  19. Fatwidow, I'm sorry to have stirred up painful memories for you. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for you to lose your husband. And it must have made it even harder to yearn to hear him tell you his feelings. I agree with dee - men have very different ways of handling things than do women. We crave comfort, support, kind words, etc. It's in our nature, and it is not in theirs. As for the out of control eating - I have been completely out of control since I scheduled my surgery. I know it's ridiculous, but I keep thinking "oh, I need to stuff my face with these chips now because I won't be able to later", etc. And then I feel horrible about it later. Pretty addictive behavior. But I think there are lots of people who have been in the same spot and seem to have made tremendous strides with the band. I mean, none of us are/were healthy eaters or we wouldn't have ended up so fat! It's not like everybody on this board was fit and trim and had great eating habits before their surgery. So I just keep telling myself that if they can do it, I can too. This is the bestest bunch of people ever. Be sure to come here often.
  20. Thanks guys. I'm doing a little happy dance!
