  1. It's pretty fun planning my daughter's wedding. I didn't have a big wedding either time, and I just sort of want the dress.
  2. hee hee. Doncha' love when your kids think you're gross???
  3. Damn, that is one nasty banana!!! Oh, going as a traveling nurse would be cool!!! You're getting the poundage off, babe. You're a third of the way there! That's fantastic! I showed DH your pics and he thought you looked amazing. The weight you've lost since I saw you is really noticible in your face.
  4. You can come too!!! All the lapband ladies can come! We're from Utah . . . everyone will just assume DH is a polygamist :cursing::scared2: I'm 5'4" so a few inches shorter than you. I'm kind of old and worry if I get too thin my face will start to look haggard. A little bit of "fluff" under the skin is a good thing at my age!!! I'd be thrilled to end up at 130 after plastics. Hell, I'd be thrilled to end up at 150!
  5. No problem. Do you need a hand with wedding planning as well?
  6. Sure!!!! Oh, wow, wouldn't it be a great place for a honeymoon?:cursing::wink:
  7. Deb, I'm glad Tucker is doing well. Sorry about the meds and the AC. Wow, you had an expensive day. But the 9800 will be the best money you've ever spent!! I was really nervous for the last few weeks before surgery too. I would wake up in the night with a mixture of excitement and dread. I went through lots of "what the hell am I doing" thoughts. Ya' know. But now that I'm a month post op and losing weight and feeling great, I'm just SOOO glad that I did it. I know this is just the beginning, but I really do have hope that I can finally lose weight and keep it off. It's really exciting to be planning for a future that is healthier, more active, involves cuter clothes, etc.
  8. Munchkin, you and I must be about the same height cuz 140 would put me at normal BMI as well. 130 is what I have in my head, but then I was thinking that I would probably have about 10 lbs of excess skin removed with plastics, so now I'm thinking that I should shoot for 140. My DH always tells me that I should start a second job as a travel agent. I LOVE the challenge of finding good travel deals. I'm SO excited about this trip. Here are pics of where we'll be staying . . .
  9. BTW Denver, with your BMI you'll probably only need to be on it for one week. Dr. K. told me one week, then Paula said 10 days, but to be on the safe side I did it for 2 weeks anyway. I only lost 3 lbs though. Go figure. It wasn't hard at all . . . meat and veggies. Yummy.
  10. Congrats, Lap!! That's fabulous!! MC Heather - too too funny. Do do do-do, do do do do-do, Heather time! I'm thinking of a new movie "the sisterhood of the baggy pants". About a group of lapbanders .. .
  11. So I was goofing around on the internet today (what else is new?) and stumbled across a killer deal on airfare to Costa Rica next February during my spring break. Under $500 RT on Frontier through Denver! Anyhoo, snapped it right up. We're going to stay on the Caribbean side near a national park that supposedly has the best snorkeling in the area. It's also much cheaper on that side of the country (beautiful private bungalow for $100 per night). I'm so excited. AND - it really gives me some motivation to lose as much as I can by then and to get into good physical shape as well. There are lots of jungle hikes, kayaking tours, canopy zip lines, etc. in the area and I want to be able to enjoy myself and really be able to fully participate. OOO, and there's a sloth sanctuary too where you can hold baby sloths. I guess there are monkeys everywhere too. It sounds so awesome.
  12. That's so exciting. Are you going to buy yourself something special when you hit the 200s?
  13. Hi ladies. Checking in late tonight. Mal, I am so sorry to hear about your son's friend. I think, though, that you never know what might happen during the next year. Docs sometimes tell you the absolute worse possible outcome . . . Munchkin . . . crap. crappity crap crap. Any chance you can talk her into sticking around to see if she moves up the list quickly??? Denise, um, HELLO!!!! OMG!!!! You look absolutely incredible. Seriously. You must be so thrilled. And get rid of the baggy jeans. DEE!!!! Wow, what a difference. I was wondering if you were planning to post six month pics. Aren't you glad you did? Wow wow wow.
  14. Munchkin - oh I hope your sister gets the job. That would be so scary for her to go to Iraq. Brandy, DD's description of reflux is so sweet. Mare - has your doctor tried something like Protonix? It completely turns off the acid pumps in the stomach. I had TERRIBLE reflux and heartburn for years until they put my on Protonix.
  15. Dork, I"m sorry Sophie has kennel cough too. Poor girlie. I'm so glad you like the doc and that you can have him do your fills. That will be so much easier.
  16. Denise, if it wouldn't be too much bother, could you please eat a little of that cheesecake for me? I would really appreciate it . . . .
  17. He is, indeed! BTW, my little guys name is Christopher John!
  18. ahhhhh, Lap. He's such a dolly. Isn't being a grandma the best? I'm going to visit mine again in 10 days and I can't wait.
  19. I know. It's so hard to get that crap out of your head. But you KNOW you deserve this. You give so much to everyone else and it's time you get something back. Your karma bank is full and it's finally paying those dividends. Just enjoy and let it all unfold.
  20. Yes, Lap, post a pic! dee - I love the phrase "upgraded boyfriend". That's adorable. Brandy - it will work. You've been so successful with your band. I know you'll do fine once you get a fill. This is just a little bump in the road.
  21. Yep, I am four weeks out today!!! I can't believe it. I remember that the 4 weeks BEFORE surgery took forever . . . the 4 weeks since have flown by. I wish I would have lost more weight, but that's okay. Kennel cough is like a really really bad dog cold with a croupy cough. She sounds awful. I'm sure Keeley will probably get it now too, as the vaccinations against are pretty much useless. Sigh.
  22. Things are good. I took your suggestion and upped my calories yesterday, and today the scale was down a pound. Today I'll decrease my calories by the same amount. YAY!!! The new little one is doing well, but has a lingering case of kennel cough that is really awful. She's on three different meds . . . poor little thing. I'm getting my first fill next Tuesday! woohoo! I think after that I'll try to find someone here though. While I love Dr. K., I think I would be much more prone to keeping up on fills if I could do it locally. How's your pouch test going?
