I'm glad it's working for you. I'm seeing someone local on Sept. 5 and will push for a more aggressive fill since I can easily get an unfill if need be. I know what you mean about going back and forth to Denver. Once the academic year starts, I just don't have time. I teach all day Tuesdays and Thursdays (fill days at Dr. K's office) and I really can't cancel my classes once a month. I told Dr. K. that I would probably be going to a local person and he totally understood. The cost will probably be about the same, given airfare, transportation, etc. I'm so happy that you're losing weight. That's wonderful. -

Okey dokey ladies. I just called and made an appointment with the fill doctor here in Salt Lake for Sept. 5th. People LOVE him, so I figured I'd give him a try. Here's the deal though . . . he ONLY does fills under flouroscopy, no exceptions. I know Dr. K. doesn't think it's necessary . . . have any of you had it done? If so, what is it like? Do you think they give a more aggressive fill? Or???? -

I KNOW!!! His dimply legs look just like mine, but somehow no one thinks mine are adorable. Damn. My daughter wasn't quite as small as yours, but she weighed 13 lbs at a year. I look at CJ and can't believe that dd was that small at a year! How is the adorable Hannah? -

I have it in both feet and the pain absolutely fluctuates with my weight. Although maybe there is a point where no amount of weight loss will help. But it seems like this might not be the best time for you to do it . . . and since it's not some sort of urgent issue, it doesn't seem like it would hurt to wait. IMHO. -

I can't believe I typed that. Can you tell what's on my mind? We should all be 105 . . . a bunch of super skinny super model types. DAMN, I want to lose some weight. I swear my restriction went away too. I had great restriction for the first 4 or 5 days, but now I feel pretty much like I did before my fill . . . -

Well, I managed to get a fill and GAIN a half pound last week. So my weight is 105.2. Hopefully some of it is "travel fluid". I certainly hope so, because I haven't been eating much of anything. Okay, now that I am back to my regular internet connection, I'll try to catch up with everyone. Dorky dork, hope your surgery went well. Post when you can. Lotza - I totally understand about the ping pong weight thing while you're waiting for you first fill. It will get better. Don't get discouraged. Munchkin- I think you should hold off on the surgery. It couldn't hurt to wait and see how things go. I'm glad you're talking to the powers-that-be about nurse biotch. In-freakin-credible. Brandy - welcome back. Wow, 128 would be pretty darned thin . . . . Lap- glad you're starting physical therapy. That should make a big difference. Deb-you're getting so close! Woohoo!! Well, I'm going to download some baby pics and post them. My little guy is such a cutie pie. Being a grammy ROCKS. -

Oh, Munchkin. I'm so sorry. I'm on a really crappy hotel internet connection so can't write much but please know that I'm thinking of you. I hate what drugs do to people. Adorkable one, good luck with your surgery tomorrow. It will be a good good thing. -

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Dr. Kirshenbaum in Colorado
minidriver replied to AngelWhispers's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Angel. If you go down to the "doctors and hospitals" link you will find a thread called "considering Dr. Kirshenbaum" that has more info about him than you can possibly imagine, and lots and lots of out of state patients. Briefly, I am from out of state and did all of my presurgery stuff over the phone. I flew to colorado the day before my surgery and met with Dr. K., and recently flew back for my first fill, but will now seek aftercare in my home state. -

Yay Denver!!! I'm so glad that you liked Dr. K. and his staff. Aren't they the best? Wow, 9/3 will be here before you know it! This is the best thing ever. I just told my husband that I LOVE my lap band. I've not felt this confident about losing weight and getting healthy since . . . ever!!! You won't regret this one bit. And, yes, tofu tastes like whatever you put it in. It's pretty versatile and really good. Give it a try, Bella!! -

Okay, for those of you battling your hunger and waiting for your first fill . . . .hang in there!!! It is so worth it!! I am away at a conference right now and this is what I've eaten: lunch yesterday: approx. 1/3 cup of chili, and some watermelon (watermelon goes down great and tastes soooo good) dinner yesterday: 3 slices of grilled zuchinni, 1 slice grilled portbella mushroom, about 2 teaspoons of chocolate ice cream and a bite of a brownie. I felt like I'd eaten Thanksgiving dinner after! Breakfast today: about 1/2 cup of yogurt with some granola sprinkled on top. Lunch today: 2 bites of chicken, one cube of tofu and some broth from tofu coconut milk Soup. And I'm STUFFED again!!! WOOHOO!!! AMAZING!!! No idea if I'm losing any weight, but it's inevitable that it will happen. It makes me sooo happy!!! -

Hey Sid. Sorry I missed you. I got there really early and the 1:30 person canceled so I ended up getting my fill early, then left to go find an internet connection before getting the shuttle back to the airport. So how are you feeling with your fill? Is it helping? Do you feel too tight? -

Ahhhh, Dorky one. It's okay. You really didn't do anything awful . . . just a slip. Pre-band . . . you have a slip and then you think "what the hell" and just keep on going. But you won't do that. You'll just get back on the band wagon (pun intended) tomorrow. No harm done. And give the 6 lb fluid thing some time. It will go away. Okay, I hate when I get a shitty haircut. Can you go back have them fix it? Boooo for bad haircuts.
