Hi Barb. Yes, it's kind of weird to be able to see a body part that's been missing for so many years! I have bought some new panties and I can't wait to wear them. I can't believe that I won't have "yuck" hanging out all over! I am so sorry that your surgery has been postponed. It's so hard to get up the nerve to do this stuff anyway, and then to have to put it off . . .

Hi Sue. I plan to do a lot of resting. The doc doesn't seem too concerned about the seroma, so I'm trying not to worry about it either. It sure looks awful right now though . . .

Hey, a tilting electric seat would be awesome about now! I can't get out of the recliner without my hubby coming and pushing down the foot rest for me. It's really a nuisance. I hope he can get all the Fluid out too. It's kind of a bummer. The good news is, though, I can look down at my stomach and actually see my pubic area for the first time in 30 years!!

That's fantastic! Congratulations! And you should shoot for whatever you think will be a comfortable weight for you.

Yeah, I think he's going to put a drain in it Monday. I'm kinda' bummed that this happened. Oh well. I guess one more drain won't really be a big deal at this point.

Well, poop. I have a large seroma above my left hip. Just got back from the doc. He aspirated quite a bit of it, but said it was too clotted to get all of it, so I have to go back in Monday and he'll suction it out with a cannula and put a couple of stitches in it. So I look pretty icky right now. Oh well.

Well poo. I have a seroma. When I took off my binder today to change the dressings, I had a huge lump of swelling and bruising on the left side. Called the doc and he had me come in. He aspirated quite a bit but said it was too thick to get it all. I have to go in again Monday and he's going to suction it out with a cannula. Yucky yuck yuck. So I don't look very good right now. Boo.

Thanks again! Hey, I posted another pic yesterday on make-me-heal. It's just of my incision. Nothing too exciting. If I remember today, I'll also take one of the sides to show how far around the incisions go.

Thanks, Lap. Not so sure my tummy will ever look like this LOL!! I posted a new pic last night showing my incision. I will take a side shot today too, cuz the incision wraps much further around my back than I had expected. I think I go something in between a LBL and a tummy tuck. I'm so excited to see what it will look like in the end. It's kind of ugly right now though, gotta say. Lots of bruising and swelling.

Yep, I'm in a recliner. It really helps, I think. I decided to take 1.5 pain pills through the night and that was a bit better. Today I'm really really stiff, but not necessarily in as much pain.

Hmmm, I think I would like to be in the challenge, although it will be kind of weird with the swelling from the TT but also the amount of skin he took off. I'm going to say 12 lbs . . . .

Ok, when DH was changing my dressings, I had him snap a quick pic of my incision. I'll get one from the side next time too, as it runs well around into my back. I'm very swollen in the upper part of the abdomen, but my lower belly is practically concave. It's awesome! Oh hi, Mimi! We must have posted at the same time. Nope. no pain pump, but it really isn't too bad. Getting up and down is the toughest, of course, but very reminiscent of whey I had a hysterectomy and c-sections, so I know it will get better everyday. I can't wait to see what it looks like under there!

Thanks again for the well wishes! So far so good today. I'm in some pain, but not unbearable. I'm only taking one pain pill at a time rather than two, as I think part of my fainting problem yesterday may have been because of taking two. I'm surprised by the amount of pain in my sides! The only thing I can think is that it's from him pulling the muscles together. Not sure what else it could be. Well, I'll keep you guys informed. When we take off the binder today to change my dressings, maybe I'll have DH take a pic. TTFN!!

HI there lap band ladies! Well, made it through my first night in the flatlands. It went relatively well. I have pretty low blood pressure normally and much lower whenever I've had surgery, so I did have one little glitch . . . John was helping me out of the recliner and I fainted! Luckily I was still in a sitting position! I'll be honest . . .it hurts! Kinda like being hit in the abdomen repeatedly with a baseball bat. I can only handle one pain pill at a time (two makes me way too dizzy) so I would probably feel a little better with more, but that's okay. John had to check my drains every two hours all night, so he's kind of worn out. I can see the advantages to staying in the hospital overnight if possible, but we made it through. When we take off the binder today to change my dressings today, maybe I'll snap a pic. BTW, they took of 6 lbs of extra goo! Woohoo!!!

Hi everyone! I am done and have been home for four hours now. I'm in a little pain, but just took another pain pill so that will help. I got up to go to the bathroom and was very very dizzy so I sat back down in the recliner and fainted after I sat down! Scared poor DH to death. So far so good though. Doctor removed about six pounds. It should look great when it's all healed! Well, that's all for now. I'll post tomorrow and maybe take a pic when we're changing my dressiings.

Oh my gosh! You guys look wonderful! Dee, you are absolutely radiant. My goodness. And you have lost SO MUCH since I saw you in April. Wow. Patty, I agree with dee. I think as our confidence grows we realize that we've let ourselves be pushed around for one reason or another or settled for less than we really deserve in life. So then it's time to take action! And miss dee . . . .get that damned chem class out of the way so you can take that next step! See? I'm being all bossy again!!! Well, I don't know how the heck I"m going to sleep tonight, and my surgery isn't until the afternoon! ARRGGHHH!!! I was so hoping that it would be early in the day. Oh well. By this time tomorrow night it will all be over! I'll be home in my recliner, wearing my big comfy boxers and blissfully snoozing under the influence of lortab. Woohoo!!!

Thanks for the encouragement, Josie. DH moved the recliner into the bedroom and that's where I shall be sleeping as well. This will be my fifth abdominal surgery, so you'd think I'd be used to it by now! I just hope it turns out well. Fingers crossed for a flat flat tummy!!! And, yes, I plan to be on drugs as well, for as many days as it takes!

I would think your recovery will be a bit tougher than mine with the LBL, so good that you're staying overnight. You're going to look so good! My butt and thighs are awful, but I just couldn't come up with the money for LBL . . . but at least my tummy will look good! Yeah, I'm kinda' old for all this, but better late than never!
