Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
minidriver replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
When Keeley was a little one she ate about half of one of my long skirts. Gee, it was fun for her when it came out the other end, let me tell you! One of my kitties is obsessed with eating ribbon. She had been moping around the house for a few days (this was a few years ago) when I saw something bright red on her bottom. At first I thought it was blood and was terrified! Then I realized it was the end of a piece of ribbon. We took her to the vet who pulled out 3 feet of Christmas ribbon. Egads!!! So far the only thing Gracie May eats that she shouldn't is Keeley's poop. It's so disgusting. She threw up poop scented vomit all over her crib the other night. BLECH! Why do we love these little fur people so much???? -

I took it pretty slow as well, but started at about 3 weeks. I found that fish worked really well for me. And I've had to switch from eating light chicken meat to dark as the dark seems to be more moist. Just be careful and chew chew chew and you'll be fine. -

Oh dear!! That doesn't sound good . . . might you have been having a low blood sugar moment? Are you still taking vicodin? Wow, I'd keep an eye on your incision and make sure that it doesn't get any redder. I think a doggie popsicle is just fine. You just can't ever give your doggie chocolate. That can be deadly. -

So this is a strange thing, peeps. Right after my fill I had really good restriction, but I think it was just due to swelling from the needle cuz it went away after 4 or 5 days. Well, today I can barely eat anything. 2-3 bites and I'm stuffed. I keep having those little half-burp, half-hiccup things and they HURT. Do you guys think I might be having that delayed restriction thing that some people talk about it? Not complaining, mind you, but it's sort of weird. Congrats to everyone on their weight loss. Dee, that's one rockin' loss in 2 weeks. Dayum!!! -

Okay, moving in the right direction . . . I'm at 203.3. I can't believe I've only lost 2 lbs since my fill 2 weeks ago. Dayum. Well, I know it's better than gaining. I just need to be patient. Second fill is not so far away. Congrats to the rest of you. YAY FOR LOSING!!! -

Stephanie, thanks for posting this. Today I was thinking that maybe I am not drinking enough Water. I've never been good at staying hydrated. I'm eating the right amount of calories (900-1000ish), exercising, getting enough Protein, etc. But the one thing that I'm not doing religiously is keeping close tabs on hydration. So, my goal starting tomorrow is to make certain that I have adequate hydration every day. Maybe that will speed up the loss. -

Oh dorky one. I've heard that it's very painful. My SIL had to have gall bladder surgery the day after a c-section, and said the gall bladder surgery hurt more than the c-section. I'm glad you're feeling better. We've missed you. -

Hey Denver, good start on your preop!! So, caffeine is fine. Dr. K. has no restrictions on it whatsoever. As for the protein . . . I think as long as you are getting in enough protein then you don't need to have all those shakes. I have one in the morning (not a breakfast person) and still get in plenty of protein throughout the day. -

Lap, glad to hear that your MRI is over . . . sorry it was so tough. One place I went to taped my eyes shut first. It really helped. I'm concerned that we've not heard from AdorKable. I hope she's okay. Marcy, DH and I cruised the inside passage a few years ago and thought it was the most beautiful place on earth. Loved it. And congrats on LOSING weight during your vacation. Hey, we play DDR too!! Isn't it a hoot? And it really is good exercise. We just bought the new one for Wii. It has hand movements too but I'm too uncoordinated to do both hand and feet movements, so I turn off the hand motions. -

Babies are pretty darned exquisite. I love their soft little heads and funny toes. But I must admit . . . when he started squawking I was VERY happy to give him back to mama. I'm too old for such things. -

Yep, learning to love yourself is the toughest challenge we (or anyone, really) have to face. But I can tell you from personal experience - if you accept the unconditional love of another, it makes it easier to have unconditional love for yourself. While it's sad that we need others to validate our worth, it really does make a difference. Hope that made sense. -

Thanks!!! I know it's impossible for me to be objective, but I think he's really really cute. It was so fun to spend a few days with him. They'll be coming here for Christmas, so I'll get to see him again. -

I think someone posted about that awhile back and he said he would but it was expensive because it would have to be done at the hospital or something. The guy I'm going to has the equipment in his office. -

Well, he's the provider for Fill Centers USA, so the initial visit is $350 (ARRGGHH) plus 99 for fluoro. After that it's 150 plus the fluoro. But I'm hoping I won't need to go as often since I'll be able to get a more aggressive fill and you can get a free "unfill" if you notify them within 72 hours that you're too tight. I was worried about being too tight and then having to fly back to Denver for an unfill.
