  1. Hi Deb. Hang in there. And I think wine was probably a good choice, given the circumstances. Marcy, that's one heck of a pile of firewood. Oh my. And, yes, your little one is adorable.
  2. Well, I'm not so good with rules so I don't think that's the case.
  3. I've never PB'd but I'm wondering if that just means that I'm not tight enough yet.
  4. Okay, this is what I have thus far for our next challenge. If I'm missing anyone, let me know. Remember, we'll start this Friday, so our first weight in won't be until NEXT Friday (Sept. 12). 5. That's a good idea to teach the class. The morning before my surgery lasted FOREVER. It's soooo exciting!!!
  6. YAY DENVER!!! Scoot over ladies, Denver's joining us on the bench!! Good luck to you tomorrow. You'll do great. Try to post when you get home if you feel up to it and let us know how you're doing. Your journey is about to begin . . .:biggrin::thumbup:
  7. Deb, I'm glad the surgery went well and I'm sure the pneumonia will clear up quickly. Again, you've come to the right place for people who understand devotion to pets. We all understand why you're doing what you're doing. He's your guy and you need to make him well.
  8. OH NO!!! It's still on the new page! she will be with us . . . forever !!!!!!
  9. Keep us all posted. And I think there are lots of people here who totally understand your love and devotion for Tucker. I have both kids and dogs and I can tell you that they really are equally important to me. Maybe that sounds weird, but they are family members. Period.
  10. Mal, that sounds like a wonderful gift. I was thinking about the music thing . . . you could give him an iTunes gift card and then offer to download some new music for him.
  11. Okay, peeps. Rene' suggested a Halloween challenge, and I'm willing to keep track. Let's start this coming Friday. That will give us 8 weeks until Halloween. Weigh yourselves on Friday and figure out how much you want to lose, then just send me your weight loss goal; no need to send your weight (too many numbers make me confused!). I'll just keep track of the minuses (YAY!) and pluses (BOO!) as we go along. As Rene' said - it's SCARY to think how much we could lose by Halloween! But we'll all be looking BOOOOOtiful by then!!:frown::frown::smile:
  12. Happy b-day Bella, and congrats on your 11 lbs! That's fantastic!!
  13. Oh Shelbi, Shelbi. Wow, I don't blame you for finishing off the Rocky Road. What a tough few days for you. I'm so sorry that both you and Rene have suffered a suicide in your family. It's such an horrific tragedy and something that can scar a family forever. Deb, how is Tucker doing today? Sid, it's good to here from you. I hope things start looking up. dee, wish I had a tenth of your drive. Man. Well, final challenge weigh in: 197.6. Not the ten lbs I'd hoped for but I'm pretty pleased to be firmly out of the 200s. I'm up for the Halloween challenge if anyone else wants to play along!
  14. Okay, so this may be unwanted advice and, if so, take it for what it's worth: Mal and Dynamo (Dynamo, we've never "met" but since we both have mini in our names, I feel an instant kinship . . .) do you think it would be helpful for you to go on some sort of eating "plan" for a few weeks to get things jump-started again. South Beach? Atkins? WW? Or something? I know when I've had a "bad-eating" relapse in the past, the only way I could pull out of it was to do something very structured and specific. I can't be trusted to make good decisions on my own. I can rationalize with the best of them when it comes to having a milkshake or something, and I know, in my case, that I just have to bite the bullet and follow the guidelines. Just my 2 cents . . .
  15. Deb, I'm so glad that the initial hurdle is over. Tell him I had hiatal hernia repair during my lap-band surgery and it was just fine!:wink2::smile: Give him big sloppy doggie kisses from Keeley and Gracie May and tell him that he has people (furry and non) all over country sending him lots of good vibes.
  16. Woohoo!!!! Congratulations! You did it! Yep, I'll bet it was altitude sickness. Not a pleasant feeling . . . can't wait to see your pics. You must be in such great shape!
  17. GORGEOUS!!! Love it!!!! How MILFy of you
  18. Sounds like you had a FABULOUS b-day. What a lot of great gifts! Your tat sounds great and I am envying your IMAC, let me tell you!
  19. Lap-the Southern states are definitely in my thoughts. We ended up taking in many of the Katrina survivors (not sure how they ended up in Utah, but many of them did!) and I can only imagine how horrible it would be to lose everything and end up in some strange place. Denver - I think dee is right about your daughter's reaction. My adult children, while very supportive, were also very nervous about the procedure. Now that it's over, though, they're thrilled for me and they can see how happy I am to be losing the weight. Plus, you have all of us!!
  20. Yes, be careful about the NSAIDS. I take them, but naproxen really bothered my stomach, so I take diclofenac. Both of my knees are bad as well, but the NSAIDS really do keep it in the tolerable range. Stairs bother me a great deal though . . . .do you climb many stairs?
  21. That's so great! I love to swim but I have a tough time with the whole swimsuit thing. I need to just get over it. It cracked me up what you said about your glasses. Before I had Lasik I was blind as a bat without my glasses. I tried to take a water aerobics class once but I couldn't see the instructor so I couldn't follow the moves. It was so embarrassing.
