Well, yes, we are rather perfect, aren't we? Yes, you should just do what you need to do to put your mind to rest. It's great that you have access to people you trust. Even if they aren't lap band fans. BOO HISS!!! -

Okay, first of all you are a naughty, naughty girl!!! Well, it sounds like you did exactly the right thing to go back and have some removed. I agree that it's better to be too lose than too tight, although as I'm sitting here STARVING right now I wish I would have pushed for more with my last fill, and it was under fluoro! I'm with you about not really being able to tell when the water passes. I don't know why I have such a hard time with it. I just can't seem to tell, so I think I am too conservative. I don't know. Hopefully you'll have a good level of restriction with this and it will be a better experience next time you go in . . . . -

My mom had a snarky neighbor who was a major neat freak so she planted a Catalpa tree (the kind that sheds big, messy seed pods and such) right next to the fence so that every time the wind blew it blew a bunch of messy tree debris into the neighbor's yard. The neighbor finally moved. -

I use Fitday religiously. I'm eating between 800 & 900 calories a day. Is that too many? Too little? I just don't know. My fat intake averages 27%, carbs 24%, and the rest protein. I feel like I'm doing the right things, but MAN am I a slow loser. And I'm a scale addict too. I'll admit it. Every morning as soon as I get out of bed. It's pathetic. L -

I'm hearin' ya' sister. I have to say, though, when I look back over my data, I tend to stall out for a few weeks then lose 4 or 5 lbs fairly quickly. So I guess my advice would be . . . keep doing what you're doing and be patient. Drink lots of water. Try to exercise if you can stand it (I hate it but am trying to force myself). The way I look at is this . . . if I keep doing the right things, sooner or later the weight HAS to come off, right? I mean, it would be scientifically impossible for me to continue at this plateau forever. And the same is true for you. Our bodies are susceptible to the laws of nature. It has to work for us sometime. L -

Wow, I had no idea that toothpaste could made a difference. I hope that's all it was. I have been loitering in the 120's (fasting) for the past few years and had hoped to see a drop. I was really disappointed. I think the doc is being extra careful since I have diabetes in both sides of my family so the genetic loading is very strong. Darn those genes. I'll always be your puff mama. -

Well, I can certainly understand your paranoia . . . but I really do think that they tend to err on the side of safety with people who have a family history. Do you feel pretty comfortable with your breast care center? BTW-Sorry to hear about your neighbor situation. Oh my. They just sound swell. Hope they drop the damned fence thing. Geez. -

I wish we'd hear from Brandy too. I'm getting nervous. I'm going to zhumba in a bit here, so I hope she checks in before then. I'm really hoping I'm still borderline. Crud. I was sure it was going to be really good!! Well, I'll just keep losing more weight and get it under control. What else can I do? Still don't know what the swelling thing is about. I may have to go to my rheumatologist. Argh. It's a real production to get an appointment, and then they just kind of shrug their shoulders and say "well, as you know there's not much we can do for autoimmune problems. Make sure you take your NSAIDS." The good news is that my ANA titer has been way down for the past 2 years, so there doesn't seem to be anything active going on. So I doubt it's related . . . -

Okay, kind of a drive-by . . . First of all, Brandy, sending lots of positive vibes your way. Please post about DH when you can. Got my blood tests back . . . electrolytes are great. Kidneys and liver are swell. My glucose was 156!!!!! I am soooooo bummed. So so so bummed. It's never been that high! I was sure it would be down since I've started losing weight. So now I have to go in and have an oral GTT . . . diabetes is rampant in my family and I have been teetering on the edge for several years. Damn. But here's some good news . . . a long time ago I think I posted about how my son and I were interviewed for a short little informational video about this organization for people with schizophrenia . . . anyhoo, the woman who is the head of the international organization called today to say that our story would be highlighted in the video and they want us to come to New York and speak at some special function at the UN! I will only speak for like 5 minutes after they show the video, but it's pretty cool!!! Sorry to be selfish and just talk about myself here, but I was really excited about the UN thing and really bummed about the glucose thing and needed to share the good and the bad.:frown: -

And before any of you get too scared . . . I only tell my students this stuff AFTER class has been in session for a few weeks. I don't want them to think I'm TOO weird. Geez. I usually tell them about my pets shortly after I tell them how I once broke multiple bones shooting free throws in my driveway with my kids. And that I brushed my teeth with Nair one time. Hmmm . . . . good thing people in administration don't visit my classes!! -

No, we're "special". That's different! One year DH gave me a card signed by all the animals with comments from each one of them. It was so cute. Each of my pets have different voices. One of the cats (Scooter Bug) has a speech impediment. Fatso uses really bad grammar. Bitten Marie is very soft-spoken but rather haughty. Sophie Bean is quite enthused. Keeley Anna is earnest. Gracie May talks really fast and kind of has ADD. Yeah, okay. I'm really freakin' weird.
