  1. Yeah, it probably wouldn't hurt to wait and talk to Dr. K.
  2. I know. It's a bummer. But once it's fixed you can get back to your losin' ways!! You really have made a lot of progress and I know you will continue to do so once you have restriction again. In the end it will all be worth it.
  3. Well, I think ANYBODY can damage a port, including Dr. K. And from a pragmatic standpoint, you'll be money ahead in the long run having him continue doing your fills. And if you like him and trust him, you should go with your instincts.
  4. So I've read in a number of threads about something called "omnipaque". It's a thicker fluid than saline and can apparently stop small leaks. I wonder if you doc has ever heard of it?
  5. Oh NO!!! I am so sorry to hear this. When you would get fills from your other doc, were they able to withdraw the correct amount? Or has this just come up since you started going to this guy? How much will he charge to fix it? booooo!:frown::mad:
  6. Yeah, night time is the killer for me too. I just want to eat and eat and eat. Urgh.
  7. Hello lovely lapband ladies! Munchie, I'm honestly not that surprised about the comic. They tend, as a group, to be somewhat cynical and not so happy. And there is the whole Dave Matthews issue . . . Now Starbucks dude sounds really really sweet. Anybody who would make you something to take to work for dinner is amazing. And as for the Jake litmus test???? Well, what more do you need??? Jaime, I only gained a pound or so back when I went on mushies, but it did slow down the rate of weight loss. However, as the proud owner of the world's slowest metabolism, you will probably not experience the type of slowdown that I did. I just started laughing about your kitties. Aren't they funny creatures? Apparently the male must have rubbed his "chin crud" on you and that stuff is hard to get rid of. Deb, I'm so happy that Tucker is doing well. Poor guy went through so much. I'm glad doggies have very short memories. Lotza, when is your fill again? Can't remember. Wish I could go with you. I am so stinkin' busy at school right now. The end of the term draws nigh . . .
  8. Whoa . . . that's pretty scientific of ya. Geez. I'm bored.
  9. SWEEEET!!!!! Oh, I'm really glad you're going. Just remember that you can't control your mom, but you can control your reaction to her. Don't let her ruin your good time. And make sure you take pics! And I really hope you get to see Jaime!!!
  10. I don't remember getting really hungry until a week or so out . . . but I could be foggy on my memory. Probably am foggy on my memory.
  11. Metformin is for my pre-diabetic/diabetic problem. It helps your cells to use the glucose from your food. Oh, I do so hate that up down up down up down thing. But I would give anything for a couple of bits of your mac and cheese dish. Yum!!!!
  12. Okay, I have a question for those of you who are faster losers, rather than slooooowwww like me. I have been losing MUCH faster since I started taking Metformin 10 days ago (4.5 lbs in 10 days vs 4 lbs in a month). Anyhoo, I haven't changed my fluid intake or my calories or anything, but I have been urinating like crazy. Does this mean that I am just losing water and soon I will go back to the slooowwwww loss? Or do you urinate a lot when you're losing weight quickly? Hope that question made sense. It seems to me, since the byproducts of fat metabolism are water and carbon dioxide, it would increase your urine output. But maybe I'm completely wrong. I'm just scared that I'll lose 5 or 6 lbs of water then go back to my 1/2 lb a week or whatever.
  13. I have no idea. I think lots of vomiting and such, but I"m not sure. Argh. You must be soooo worried.
  14. Crud, what a mess. I don't understand the whole amount thing either. I never have the same amount from one fill to the next. And the guy who does my fills refers to "net amount" because a certain amount stays in the tube, etc. Let us know what ends up happening. I KNOW I read somewhere about some sort of "flat tire" stuff they could inject that can seal a small leak . . . maybe search on the site about leaks or something?
  15. Well, I think there is a LOT of swelling after surgery. My upper tummy area was sooooo swollen. Isn't that the most awful feeling though?
  16. Oh good! That sounds just right! GO DEE!!!!
  17. WOOHOO!!!!!! That's so exciting! Well, you'll probably gain back SOME of it, but not all. And then you'll start losing again. YAY FOR YOUR BAND!!!
  18. Oh, man, Tally. How confusing. I hope you don't have a leak, but I'm glad you had enough taken out so you're not vomiting any more. Crud. Isn't there any way to know whether or not you have a leak? Can they tell with fluoroscopy or something?
  19. Weigh yourself on the 13th so that you can keep track, but you don't need to send that to anyone. Then just post how many pounds you hope to lose. First official weigh in will be the 20th. I don't know about the water thing. I'm horrible with getting in enough water.
  20. Jamie I feel your pain, I had the same issues, but Doc told me it was probably from the antibiotic. He said he sometimes prescribes a little much, and that it knocks out some of the good along with the bad. It took me a couple of weeks to get over it. It was strange cuz it usually happened everytime I would have a protein drink, and then I was in the bathroom within 10 minutes. So I finally figured out not to drink the shake. (DUH) Hmmm, I wonder if taking probiotics would help you guys? Ya' know, restore the healthy stuff to your gut.
  21. Oh no!! That's too bad. Are you able to get enough pain relief just with the liquid tylenol?
