Welcome Allyson!! Jaime, the restriction you're feeling is most likely the result of swelling. I had that same thing . . . it was great!! -

It's okay. Next week will be better. Damned wine. It's so hard to keep away from it. I just try to stick with my nightly vodka drink. It's better for my blood sugar anyway. -

Yeah, getting stuck on chili would be awful! I know what you mean about feeling you did something bad, but you can't just let it sit there. It hurts! -

that's kinda' what has happened to me both times. I haven't ever really slimed, and nothing comes up on it's own. I just have to get it out cuz it won't move and it hurts. -

Good morning lap band ladies. So first, dorky one I am so sorry about your husband's job. That must be really scary. The economy is so awful right now . . . I sure hope that things start to change soon. I'm glad to hear about your band though. At least there is some good news. And your 4 lb weight loss is fabulous!! Dee, you are having a red letter week! I am so excited about your daughter getting in to CIA and I am thrilled that you got the research job!! That's fabulous! I figured after this long that you probably didn't get it. You must be so excited. And how proud you must be of your daughter. Whoohoo!!! Brandy, I"m glad you had the half cc taken out. I hope that works. -

Yay Dee, Brandy, and Tally on your losses!!! I had a fill yesterday and I'm afraid to try eating. I just had some cottage cheese that had a couple of canned peach slices in it. I got them down, but I was kind of worried. I hope this fill is a good one though. -

OMG!! What did your bank say? Oh dear. I thought you were going to wait till tomorrow to report your weight cuz of working? Why don't you weigh again tomorrow and you can see if you lost some. And I can monitor. Not a biggie. -

Yeah, I DEFINITELY craved meat. I think it's your body telling you it needs protein. I couldn't WAIT to have some beef. I made all sorts of gross, pureed meat things even when I was still on full liquids. I would puree canned chicken with some chicken broth and drink it. My friend at school called it "chicken gruel". I think during mushies I ate a lot of chicken salad. I used canned chicken and some mayo and then quickly pulsed it in the food processor. It tasted really good. -

Hmmm. . . . might still be a little lumpy. Maybe you could run it through the food processor???? -

Try not to get discouraged. This is a really hard part of the process. You're so excited for your weight loss to start and then it just kind of sits there. Go ahead and eat! Really! This is the healing phase. Your body has been through a lot and needs nutrition. -

Good morning lap band ladies! Today is our first official weigh in day of our holiday challenge. Lotza started us off yesterday with her 3 lb weight loss!! I lost 1.9 and I'm just peachy with that. I think Tally forgot to report before leaving on her trip, and Dee is going to weigh in tomorrow. Let's hear from the rest of you losers!! Whoohoo!! -

Welcome back. You look great! Congrats on the weight loss!! And I think Lexi is an adorable name. She looks like a Lexi. I would say so. Does Prilosec help? The fill doc here wants me to take it everyday cuz he is convinced that reflux can become a huge problem if it goes on too long. Sorry about the PB . . . that kind of sucks, but YAY for losing 3 lbs! That's absolutely fantastic and it must feel great to be at 30 lbs down. I had a fill today and it was a more aggressive fill than I've had in the past. I'm hoping to have great restriction as well. Fingers crossed! -

You made a fill prayer! You're so awesome!!! I shall print it out and hang it on my wall. And, no, 681 calories is not enough. Minimum of 800. Drink another protein shake and you've got it! Well, YEAH!!! hello!!!!! Of course you can weigh in tomorrow! I can't believe it's so cold in Florida. It was in the high 60's here today. Go figure! -

Oops, missed somebody . . . Tally, congratulations on hitting onederland! It's such a fabulous feeling! You'll stay there. You can do it. That's so weird about the leak, but it makes total sense that it would take awhile. It will be interesting to see what develops. I'm getting a fill tomorrow. I'm nervous now since these leaks have been popping up! Yikes! I realized I needed another fill cuz I'm suddenly obsessed with food. I keep thinking about different restaurants I like, and how much I want ice cream, etc. So, yep, it's time. -

Piglet, I've had 2 c-sections and thought lapband was MUCH less painful. The gas pains kind of sucked but were definitely controllable with gasx strips. Just my opinion. Dee, you HAVE to eat more than a pear and some walnuts. Now that's just not enough food to live on. I'm gonna' be mama squirrel here for a minute and tell you that you have to be sure you're getting enough protein, etc. Jaime, how are you feeling? You sound good . . . is it okay being back at work? Julie, that's awesome that you tried out those bars. They sound great. Yummy. -

Is anybody else having trouble getting on the board? The past few days have been really hit or miss. Miss Dee, congrats on the 4 lb loss. Woohoo! Fills rock! Brandy, I shall add you for the challenge. How incredible that you only have 10 lbs to reach goal. You must be so thrilled. Jaime, there weren't any pics with your post (or at least they didn't show up on my computer). -

How are you doing with your fill? How about you, Miss Dee? -
Hi dolphin. I noticed that you said you have insulin resistance and pcos. Are you taking metformin? I have been really strugging to lose 1/2 lb a week the past month or so. My doctor put me on metformin and I've dropped 5 lbs in 2 weeks! I'm not sure if it will continue, but I'll sure take it. If your body is horribly insulin resistant it makes it very difficult to lose weight.

Well, it really varies from person to person. Some people have 2 or 3, some might have 5 or 6. It's kind of hard to say. It costs me $250 everytime I have one . . .

Well, because I am too busy to travel to Colorado, I have my done at the local Fill Centers location. The Dr. they use specializes in bariatrics and is awesome. He does it at his office and always uses fluoroscopy. It is expensive, however. However, given what I saved on the surgery, I am still waaaayyy ahead on money. Some people choose to fly back to Denver for their fills (I did my first time) since Dr. K. gives free fills for 3 months and then only charges $15 each after that! Another thing I liked about Dr. K. was how fast I was able to get in. I first contacted them in May and had my surgery July 2nd. It was fabulous. Let me know if you have other questions.
