Hi lapband ladies. Jaime, I concur with the "going to the doctor" suggestion. Listen to your collective lapband mommies and go! Marcy, nice to hear from you and the pics are great. You look gorgeous and the kid/puppy pic is adorable. Julie Ann, wow!! That's fantastic. Lotza', my slow and steady lapband sister, good job!! Brandy, it's so nice to have you back. Okay, I have to comment for a moment about Oprah. So she's never been a supporter of weight loss surgery and has been kind of snotty about it IMHO. So now she's all embarrassed and stuff cuz she's back up to 200 lbs. This is a woman with a personal trainer, private chef, etc. If SHE can't keep the weight off, why on earth would any of us be able to do so? I mean, come on!! I feel like writing to her and (respectfully) suggesting that she look into getting a band. Well, I have about a bazillion papers to grade and a wedding coming up in 10 days. I need a personal assistant. Anyone want to volunteer? -

Well, after solemn deliberation, I have decided to allow you this exception. You may now kiss my ring. -

I would be very happy with a 10 or 12 too. I haven't worn anything smaller than that since I had rheumatic fever at age 20 and dropped 40 lbs. The "serious illness" diet works really well, but I mainly just looked sickly. -

Clothes are so weird. I bought some size 16 jeans awhile ago at Old Navy and they are starting to actually get a bit loose. I was in there the other day and they have a bunch of jeans for $12. I took several pair of size 14s to the dressing room to try on. Couldn't get any of them pulled up over my thighs and hips. I gave up in disgust. Then I had to go buy some new bras. I have absolutely no idea what size to buy now. I tried on - no exaggeration - over twenty bras. The full-figured bras were too big. The biggest sizes in the "non-full figured" squished me and gave me alien boobs on the sides and tops. I finally found a couple that didn't suck as much as the others. I guess I shouldn't complain since I"m buying smaller clothes now instead of bigger, but I'm just kinda' stuck when it comes to figuring out what I can and cannot wear. -

I am very excited to get to the half way point. That will feel good. I'm already lower than I've been for about 10 years, so that's a nice feeling too. Overall, I'm pleased with my progress. Of course it's slower than I would like, but I am losing and that's what's important. -

Jaime, I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't find something to wear for your party. I know how exciting it is to get the surgery and then, when the weight isn't coming off quickly, it's really a let down. It will happen though. It really will. I tend to have some swelling after a fill, and that gives me some restriction for a few days. And then I tend to have no restriction, then the fill kicks in after a week or so. It's weird. -

Well, I wouldn't think your surgeon would do it if he didn't feel totally comfortable with doing it under a local. Sorry about the interview. -

OMG!!! I just looked at my license and it said 200! I weigh 18 lbs less than that! I had to get it renewed last summer when I weighed 220ish and I remember now thinking that I so OBVIOUSLY weighed over 200 lbs that I might as well just put down 200. WOOHOO!!! That makes me really happy!!! -

Ha ha!! That's so awesome. Everytime I have to renew my license I try to figure out what is the lowest weight I can put without seeming totally ridiculous. I never thought about how great it would be to actually weigh that amount! -

DEEE!!!! I've been missing you! I'm glad you weren't having a band problem but I'm sorry you were sick. Yay for a fill though. I was wondering if you'd started your new job. I'm sure there is a lot to learn, but you're one smart cookie. You'll do great! -

I'm so sorry to hear that you are leaking. Dammit. I can sure understand not wanting to have it replaced under a local . . . I wonder if they can hang up a sheet or whatever so you can't see? I'm thinking of how they drape you during a c-section so you can't actually see what they're doing. Or maybe twilight sedation? How did hubby's interview go? -

Are you getting snow? We have this kind of icky sleet looking stuff coming down and it sure looks like it's going to snow. I had the worst time all through the months of September and October. I was only losing 1/2 pound a week. I tried everything and nothing seemed to work. I don't know what the secret is. sigh. -

Well, Dr. K. doesn't tell you to be on mushies or anything. The guy I go to here has you go on warm liquids for 48 hours. I think that you get kind of swollen after a fill (I do anyway) and the mushies can help . . . I ate breakfast before my fill. I really didn't think about whether it was better or not. Hmmm, anyone else have an opinion? I'm down 2.1 lbs this week. YAY!!! I was worried that I'd hit yet ANOTHER horrid plateau.
