  1. sorry you're sick. I would think it would speed things along, but ya' never know.
  2. The pill thing is an ongoing saga for me. At first I was crushing everything, then the pharmacist told me that my anti inflammatory is time release and crushing it is a problem. So now I cut things into tiny pieces. My fill doc hasn't said a word about pills, and the pill he prescribed me is freakin' huge. I have to cut it into fourths. So I spend a lot of time cutting up pills. I would hate to get one stuck, but I don't want to risk having them not work properly either. It's kind of a hassle.
  3. Now, don't start getting down on yourself about this. Exercising is a tough habit for some of us to develop. As for your lack of weight loss . . . .ummmm, you just had your first fill AND you did lose last week, ya know.
  4. I admire your drive to go the gym. I am the WORST about exercising. bleh.
  5. Ahhh, thanks Dee! I don't know how I got so lucky . . .
  6. Thanks!! It should be fun . . . and crazy making.
  7. Oh my! Yes, I've been married for about a gazillion years to the nicest guy on earth. This is my 29 year old daughter who is getting married. As mother-of-the-bride I have LOTS of stuff to do.
  8. It's the 20th . . . . so it's coming up FAST! I'm kinda' overwhelmed. Grades are due the 22nd. It's just a lot of stuff happening all at once.
  9. I think I might join you for the second 15 day cycle. I was tempted to do it now but it's gonna be really hard with the wedding coming up next weekend. I would rather do it when I'm not quite so frazzled. I think it sounds like a fabulous plan though.
  10. By the way, ladies, as a group we have lost 66.3 lbs!! WOOHOO!
  11. So what's the plateau buster diet? Do you have a link to it? I'm worried about the holidays too.
  12. Okey dokey, here are the week 4 totals. Good job peeps!! 13. You're on call 24/7? That is ridiculous. Seriously. Oh, good job on the 4.4!!
  14. Oh, no. I'm so sorry to hear that you hate your new job. Are you going to stick with it? It's not worth it if you are unhappy every day . . . .:tongue2:
  15. Yeah, ice cream is really a tough one for me. I LOVE ice cream. I buy those "Blue Bunny" ice cream bars. They have 90 calories or something and very few carbs, so they work out pretty well. I just can't imagine life without ice cream. It would suck.
  16. I agree. I think if we get feeling toooo deprived, then we go off the deep end. Just having a taste of stuff is enough to keep me going sometimes. Or to realize that it doesn't really taste that good anyway!
  17. Yes, I'm such a dainty thing. Burp, fart, groan.
  18. wow, that's wild. I don't think I've used a straw since surgery. I have such bad gas all the time I'd probably blow up! It was so weird at our party last night . . . there were all these platters of wonderful hors' doeuvres and I was absolutely fine just tasting a little of this and a little of that. Gotta' love the band.
  19. I don't know, I guess I just always have to know WHY you should do or not do something. I'm just a geek that way. So I've read lots of the medical literature about the band (I spent a lot of time reading about it the band in journals before my surgery because of my autoimmune stuff) and I can't actually find any studies about carbonation. So I think it must be kind of anecdotal . . . on the other hand, why take a chance. I have no desire to drink soda, and really don't even miss beer anymore. But I do love my once a year champagne . . .
  20. I don't really get the carbonation thing though. I mean, if you drink it when your pouch is full, then I can see how it could cause problems but that seems like it would also hurt. but if you drink it when your pouch is empty and it just goes through, I don't really get how it would hurt it. I've tried to research it and come up with a bunch of conflicting answers. Weird.
  21. Good morning lap band ladies. Sorry I've not posted the weight updates. I've been stupid busy. It's finals, that wedding thing is looming, and last night I hosted our annual departmental holiday party at our house. It's a fun party . . . everyone brings a bottle of their favorite champagne and an appetizer to share. That being said, I know I'm not supposed to drink carbonated things, but I decided to try the champagne. It really was fine, other than the fact that I AM SUCH A LIGHTWEIGHT NOW!!! I just couldn't drink much at all before feeling really blech . . . It was still really fun though. I haven't tried beer. Maybe I;ll take a sip of hubby's and see if it tastes bad. The champagne tasted great. Mal, it's good to hear from you. Sorry that you've fallen off the wagon. Would a fill help???
  22. Yay Jaime!!! Good job. I'm down 1.1 for the week. Better than nothing and WAAYY better than a gain.
  23. You have such a good attitude. I really admire you for that.
  24. 85 pounds rock. I'm sure it's been tough being stuck in the same old place for so long, but now that you know what kind of restriction you need, you can get it back after your port is replaced and ready to roll again and get on your merry losin' way. And maintaining is awesome. I have to constantly remind myself that, even when I'm not losing, I am still WAY ahead of the game because I'm not gaining.
