I'm glad they finally let you leave it in. I've never really understood the whole jewelry issue with surgery. Dee, do you know why they make you take our your jewelry? -

Wow, so I've lost more than 50% of my excess body weight (which would make sense since I'm more than half way to goal) and I've lost 20% of my total body weight. So I guess I'll quit beating myself up over having gained a half pound this week. -

Miss dee, I totally remember the Flinstones song and am singing it as I type. HAPPY BANDIVERSARY, MY FRIEND!!! What an incredible journey. You have done so well . . . a year ago could you have imagined that you would be well over 100 lbs lighter at this point? It's an amazing accomplishment. I sending you several gold refrigerator cyber-stars. AND, you're just a super-cool person, which makes your success even better. LOVE YOU!!! -

Hey Deb. If your flight is at 6, then supershuttle will probably say that they want to pick you up at like 3:30 or something. I think I lied and said my flight was at 6:30 so they'd pick me up at 4. My appointment was also at 2:30 and I finished in plenty of time. -

Wow, Bella. You look great. Congratulations. Cybele: I took out a loan against my 401K. Not a bad way to go if you have that option. Well, I went and got a fill this morning. He put in .8 cc's - by far the most I've had at one time. WISH ME LUCK!!! I haven't tried eating yet, but was able to get down the barium and a cup of water. Hoping this one gets me to the green zone. -

deb, just go to supershuttle.com and you can make a reservation right on line. It's a shared van system but they take you right where you need to go and it's about half what you'd pay for a cab. One little trick: they like to pick you up waaaayyyyy before your flight, so I usually say that my flight is half hour (or hour) later than it actually is so that I don't get picked up so early. When you're flying in and out on the same day, it's not like you need to check luggage and such. -

Yay Lap! And I'm so glad you're feeling better. Miss dee, I know you're not going to be where you wanted to be by your bandiversary, but DAYUM you've lost a lot of weight. I agree that people just don't look at us. Plus there's that whole issue of people seeing us all the time so they really can't tell. Nobody notices that I've lost any weight either. Hell, I barely notice! That being said, I hope you're proud of what you've accomplished thus far. I mean, you've lost an amazing amount of weight and you're still going strong. You haven't burnt out or given up, even though you've been at it for a long time. You are amazingly strong and I love you to pieces. -

I'm sorry Deb . . . but you need to remember that you are still down overall for the challenge cuz you lost so much the first week. I do think with atkins and other low carb things that you lose a lot of water at first and it needs to come back somehow, but it you don't gain all of the weight back then you're still ahead. That being said . . . you can always fly to Denver and use supershuttle (that's what I do cuz I'm afraid of driving in a strange city) and try to do it all in one trip so you don't have to stay over. Or you can go to a fill center (that's what I'm doing now as it's about the same price as traveling back and forth to Denver and doesn't take up nearly as much of my time). Hang in there sweetie. -

Well, it would be have been better for me if I had weighed in yesterday, since I managed to go up a pound overnight and am now at a big fat -0 for the week. -

Thanks!! I'm pretty happy about it too. I'm really hoping to reach my goal weight by summer so that I can have my plastics. Unfortunately it still hasn't made dent in my blood sugar. Weird, weird, weird. I think you're probably a lot taller than me, so 177 will look lots better on you than it does on me! But at least I can shop in regular stores now and I love that. -

Hi Dr. Schulman. I have a couple of short questions. I have always had a double chin, regardless of my weight, and now have loose skin and some "pleating" under my chin. I would like to have this fixed after I finish losing weight but really don't want to have a full lower face lift. I have a real aversion to/fear of looking like I've had a face lift. Is there anything less drastic that can be done with necks? My second question has to do with my breasts. I have what I believe is called "pseudoptosis". My nipples are still above the crease line of my breast, but all of the breast tissue seems to have settled in the lower part of my breasts. I know I'll need a breast lift but am reluctant to have implants. Can my sort of breast problem usually be corrected with a lift without augmentation? Or is it impossible to have any fullness on the top with implants? I hope that made sense. Thanks in advance for your time. You're very generous to deal with all these questions!

That certainly sounds doable given your level of restriction. -
