CALLING ALL MEN !!!! CALLING ALL MEN!
Brent701 replied to november11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m quite grumpy about my progress lately. 340 after getting home from surgery vs 260 which I have stalled at now for a full two months. -
How Many Ounces of Food at Four Months Gastric Sleeve?
Brent701 replied to pghmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would rather be fat/current state than ever have to deal with logging 13 ingredients for a wrap into MFP. Edit: What you have accomplished is amazing but there is a level of obsession most people are not ready to commit to. -
How Many Ounces of Food at Four Months Gastric Sleeve?
Brent701 replied to pghmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fluffy it is amazing you were ever morbidly obese. Your regimen is like a machine. Is it the fear of going back that motivates you to keep it off? -
Sunday will be 8 months and the scale still isnt moving. The honeymoon is over and what started out as a mild annoyance progressed into frustration but now I am just fckng pssed off! Im 35lbs from "goal" but I still have a big belly.
-
What exactly does switch it up mean? Its often used and little understood term.
-
Im at around 1000-1400 calories per day I only closely track the protein which comes in at around 100g per day. I have emailed my nut for additional feedback. I have the occasional cheat but when I do calories at closer to the 1400 side of it. Exercising 2 days a week for 30 minutes. I lost the first 100 doing zero exercise.

another week but same story. I thought this was going to be the week the scale finally started to move again but still stagnant in the same 5 lb range for the past 2 months. Actually up 2lbs from last Monday. I eat nowhere near the calories required to maintain this weight yet my body resists. I even managed to incorporate some additional exercise this past week but still nothing. In past this would be the point I would become overcome with frustration and self destruct. Fortunately this time I dont have those feelings and I have the sleeve as a tool to stop me should I even attempt it. Below is the updated progress chart.

Kidney stones HELP
Brent701 replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Mikey I posted about this a few months back I had one 4 weeks after the surgery. I had a previous attack the past year. For me it was being dehydrated which we as WLS patients already have to be extra careful about. I had to urinate into a strainer and I had a 2mm stone pass. While the whole experience was not as bad as others make it out to be the worst part was not being able to pss for 24+ hours. Kidney pain closely resembles stomach pain but I had the stones in the year past so I was able to tell the difference. Happy to share any more specifics you may have. -
I feel like im gonna drop 10lbs suddenly to make up for the past few weeks stalling. Sitting right on my lows as of this morning.

I have done a great job of listening to my body. Since surgery I have developed a habit of sneezing just before I am full. My sneeze is the warning sign to stop. After that its 1/2 more bites at max. I am never concerned with overeating at meals but with the sleeve you can eat around it by snacking which was never a weakness for me but its enough to stall weight loss. While I have spent the past 2 months in a stall the past two weeks I have found myself snacking a lot more partly because I am no longer seeing the results. I am aware its happening and am trying to stop it early. My confession I am a chocolate and peanut butter *****. Now that I said it in public forum I feel better but I dont want it to interfere with the weight loss. Burn me at the stake I am a WLS sinner and going to hell.
-
I dont ever want to go back to where I was but part of why I wanted the surgery was for the natural reminder to stop eating not so I made eating a chore. Nothing wrong with the measure weigh and log community but its something I detest. Im still searching for those that have achieved long term results with a balanced approach.

Need to go back to my old motto nobody got fat eating a reeses cup they got fat from having the whole bag.

Issues with solids. Plz help me!!!
Brent701 replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Slow cooking will help a lot with meats. Chicken took a good 3-4 months before I could handle much. What other softs have you tried so far? I did a lot of thin sliced deli meats in my soft phase. Meatballs mashed into a meat sauce went down easy and was filling after 3-4 bites initially. Turkey chili also very filling. -
Yep that all makes a lot of sense plus at 22BMI you dont have a lot left. Each pound does get more difficult to lose. For me at 33BMI I have a lot of room to lose still given my daily calorie intake.
-
Set point is interesting. This weight was where I was from around 18-22.
-
My updated chart below. @FluffyChix You seemed to slow down substantially once you hit 150 do you think that was because it was your goal weight?
-
I think this might be a fun topic
Brent701 replied to Isabelmonster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think she meant 2/3 as in two thirds of a meatball? -
This forum does not help when you are struggling and seeing others that are succeeding. Dont compare yourself with others too much as there is always someone doing better than you are.
-
Fluffy what app is that from? Awesome to see someone elses chart!

I am 7.5 months and down 100lbs and have been in the same 5lb range now for the past 2 months.
-
Another Monday where the scale isnt moving. I am a bit surprised given the level of strenuous activity from the weekend. Its very hard to stay on plan when I have hit such a major roadblock. The first 100lbs were effortless the weight was just falling off but the past 2 months I have been between 258-263.
-
Very happy for you but also quite jealous of those results.
-
thanks everyone. The other thing worth adding that has changed in the past month or so is that hunger has been ever so slowly returning. The weight came off so effortlessly at first but now it feels like a real grind. Of course nothing worth anything ever comes easy and I know that means I am going to have to work at the exercise part.

Wanted to get a thread up early. Please post your thanksgiving plate pictures.

protein powder in sugar free jello?
Brent701 replied to loridee11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
SF pudding masks the protein flavor better. I was a bit grossed out by the protein added to SF Jello.
